  • Centurion D5 Evo sliding gate motors are commonly used to automate residential homes and businesses.
Exquisite security has more then 19 years experience in the installation, maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting of all types of gate motor systems.
We are assessors for popular insurance companies and as such we need to know the gate motor systems inside out.
Here we have a Centurion D5 Evo plastic base:
It is a 1 piece plastic casted base.
There is enough support lines on the bottom section which allows the gate motor to be secured down properly to the steel base.
This allows the gate motor to operate heavy steel sliding gates with ease.
Provided that the gate motor be fitted properly as per factory specifications.
The plastic base is held in place on the steel base plate by using 3x steel bolts.
It is paramount that the steel washers be used in the installation as indicated in the installer manual.
These washers allows force to spread over a greater area which assists in the securing of the plastic base.
The Centurion D5 evo sliding gate motor has 5x seals in total which prevents gearbox oil from leaking out the gate motor.
    1. The first oil seal is situated on the main drive shaft close to the gate motor pinion gear.
    2. The seal is kept in place by the pinion gear plastic cover.
    3. The main drive shaft has a o ring seal which is fitted on the inside of the saft where the manual release pin slides in.
    4. The front inner cover has two o ring type seals present which slides onto the cover.
    5. One seal slides onto the front and one seal slides from the back.
    6. A oil type seal is pressed onto the front cover and the Doss disk is pressed onto the main shaft and this seal.
The double seal system on the front cover prevents gearbox oil from seeping from the gearbox.
The front drive shaft seal prevent gearbox oil from leaking out the front drive shaft.
The front seal and manual release pin prevents gearbox oil from leaking from the gearbox.
As the shaft is turning when the motor operates it is most likely that oil could leak over time from any of the seal.
If you detect a oil leak from your centurion gate motor, it is best to contact Pottie as he will assist in identifying and replacing the correct seal.
