    I put the flama and the mariana on my wish list like alittle kid.
    Im over 50 and its pedal heaven these days. Back then they were expensive like Straymon etc with same brands all over.
    So much fun now!

    Nice comparison! I own and use both pedals. I'm much more oriented toward the HOF2, but the FS02 has served me well.Ive had them both on my board, using the HOF2 for the shimmer mode and the FSO2 for the "always on" hall mode. I like the MASH buttons on the HOF as well as the tone print slots, so if I had to pick, I would go with the HOF2. Thanks for the nice, slow knob twisting. I learned some things about my reverb pedals by watching this!

    Hello everyone and thank you. I think having the pre-delay and separate tones is an added value. Personally I get the reverbs put by the Mixer....in stereo, same thing for the delays.
    There is no comparison. Warm greetings from Italy.-

      Yeah, good point - the pre delay toggle on the HOF2 does next to nothing unless you have all 3 dials near or at max, whereas you can hear a clear difference using the pre delay knob on the Flamma.

    I have both: HOF2 with my Moog Voyager and FS02 with my lo-fi Volca setup. I think both are really lovely. I still need to figure out my own preferable settings on the FS02 in my use case. Current draw on Flamma is a good point. Now I have a bad daisy-chain power adaptor, which might not be good enough.

  • @MrCienszkowski
    @MrCienszkowski 2 роки тому +9

    Something to consider is the current draw: HOF requires 100 Ma, Flamma 300 Ma. For me the reason not to get the flamma, I didn’t want to add an extra powersupply to my board. I prefer the sounds in the Flamma, HOF sounds overall pretty dark to my ears.

      The trails mode was not activated during this video on the Flamma pedal, it will light up Blue when the trails function is on. For the money I don't think there's anything that comes close with this feature set. You will need a power supply that can support 300ma or the pedal may not function properly but mine has worked flawlessly for 2 years now.

      I had the TC delay pedal and the mash button didn't work as well (the footswitch was temperamental) and the tone prints drove me bonkers. I wouldn't get another TC pedal with those features.
      I just got the Flamma three days ago and love it. Very easy to dial in and saving presets is simple. Only quibble is not being able to toggle between settings using the footswitch. It would have been convenient to have, but not a dealbreaker for a pedal in this price range.

    Привет всем ревероманам! Мое мнение,первое- фламма чуть больше фонит,второе-более металл.призвук и третье - они обе хороши!!! Смотря с каким инструментом ( акустика или электро),с перегрузом или без и конечно каую музыку играть... Holl /больше подходит для рокеров и акустиков,а Фламма для пространственно-космической как это делает Перри. Ну конечно у каждого свой вкус и это чисто мое субьективное мнение.

    I've owned both, and on the dial settings they're both pretty good, I would have preferred trails on with the Flamma for a better head to head comparison, but there's nothing on the Flamma that compares with the toneprint and deep editing features on the HOF2.
    My 2 cents: If your musical tastes revolve around reverb, go with the HOF2. Otherwise, the Flamma pedal will satisfy 95% of your reverb needs for 30-40% less money.
    It would be nice for Perry to compare these two with the Digitech Polara, it's out of production but is still a serious contender for best affordable (sub $150 used) reverb.
    Great video - worth listening to for the playing alone.

  • @Phir32

    Dear friend, you who tested the pedals live, can you tell me which one you liked the most? From the video the two have a nice sound, but I have the impression that the HOF is a little superior.... And live? Which one do you recommend?

  • @PJmusica
    @PJmusica 2 роки тому +2

    Thanks for the video. To me, both have a slight glassy trail, that has almost a subtle bit of a vibrato to it, which I don't particularly like. I like a smooth trail. With that said, I'm leaning towards buying the HOF or a Boss. Between these two, I definitely like the HOF, it's a bit more lush. and that 300 ma 9volt flamma adapter is a deal breaker for my pedal board.

    Help advice please.
    They both sound good. I don't play a guitar. I use tape loops and pedal feedback with a few drones.
    Reverbs are the bane of my life. I've owned a few cheap ones that either sound bad, to much dry signal or worst still, clip in an unusable digital way with the hot signals I use. I like my Holy Grail but it's one knob and mono.
    Has anyone used the flammable on synths? Can it handle a hot signal?
    These are in my budget, The Cathedral looks great but the footprint is an issue. Does the hof foots witch swell?

      I haven't found a Reverb pedal I'm happy with yet. I currently just have the EHX Canyon, and while I really love the shimmer on it, I don't care for the rest. Colors my tone too much. I'd like to buy a better Reverb but I hesitate to pay $300 for one of the supposedly "really good ones."

      @mr.d.572 I ended up buying a Blackhole and sent it back. Its stereo, small footprint, but you pull up a knob loads of the parameters change, this knob becomes this one.etc. I bought it thinking there was no menu, turns out there's a menu, no screen. Also for a device full of "great reverbs" it wasn't that easy to diall something in.

    • @phunkyjunkee
      @phunkyjunkee 2 роки тому +2

      The huge difference is in the features provided in the HOF honestly. It blows Flamma out of the water. The HOF has 2 things that make it far and away better than the flamma -> switchable bypass - either true bypass or buffered, with a high quality buffer (100ohm output) AND it offers analog dry though, so your actual unaffected signal can be mixed / passed through untouched. The Flamma will convert your analog goodness to a digital signal. Also, the flamma does not offer true bypass. Both stereo in/ out. I didn’t even mention the TonePrint which also make the HOF not only better, but a better value. It also has more pre-loaded Reverb algorithms.

I traded it for the upgraded R7 X2 which hugely improves everything and puts the dry sound "behind" the reverb which is much better to my ear. Have been really hoping the flamma would follow as I much prefer the simplicity and larger firm compared to the original R7.
