    The video was helpful but what I would really like to see is a video on those sick ass lights you have on the 300.

      The green ones or the like light bars and flush mounts?

      It's pretty simple, they're pod lights you find on amazon and they basically just push into the stock light holes

    I adjusted mine as you did and now I got nothing. It was slightly slipping before, that's why I adjusted it.

    Hi I have a 1997 trx 300 4x4 it goes in reverse perfect but when I try to get it in neutral it's very hard. Is there adjustment for that. Thank you

      Does that happen all the time cause on mine when it dosent want to go into neutral from reverse I just back up a tad more and then it'll usually goes into neutral just fine maybe a coincidence but it works every time for me on my 91 fourtrax 300 4x4

      @@nathanflatt7818 its hard to get it out of reverse most of the time but only occasionally goes in neutral fairly smooth. I usually have to use my hand to get it in neutral cause its way hard with my foot

      @@victornaja7927 oh I've never had it that hard to go in neutral maybe something to do with the clutch adjustment well that just my 2 cents, hope you find an answer to your problem

      I’m not sure if u follow what I did in the video it should be fine only think it does is makes the shifter tighter and also if u have them to tight it will be to hard to shift but u can get it to shift with some force but it’ll bang into gear hard

    Will adjusting this fix the quad from lurching when shifting from neutral to 1st?

    • @camden3790

      That’s what I’m here trying to figure out. Curious to hear if this fixes lurching.

      You probably should try lowering your idle on the carburetor

    • @connorwilson5049
      @connorwilson5049  3 роки тому +1

      I’ve seen it do that if it’s too tight it will be hard to shift and kinda go into the gear hard so yes it would unless you idle is too high

      Before you turn it counterclockwise you turn it clockwise one full turn, and then counterclockwise until you feel resistance. Once that happens, go 1/4 of a turn clockwise then lock it down.

    Just bought this thing, & it appears to need adjustment, Is there a number of threads SHOWING above the nut is the MAX to show after adjustment?? I HAVE to have this thing to work @ farm and can't risk getting it where it doesn't work, currently it works but slips

    • @connorwilson5049

      Uh no I’m don’t believe but all u should have to do is do what I said in the video and you should be all set with the clutches cause that’s how everyone is done and if it still slips after you’ll most likely need new clutches

    My left lever is a brake... and when i squeeze it, I can feel it on my foot brake... and my right lever is a brake..
    Does thing not have a clutch?? I just left off the gass and shift?

    • @bincockwell2610

      You have a wet clutch. When you lift the shifter all the way up with your toe, it engages the clutch, as you lower your toe, it falls into the next gear. Works the same way as you down shift. You should let off the throttle when shifting.

      Automatic clutch. You just let off the gas to shift. The left brake lever is directly connected to your foot brake for the back brakes

      It has a clutch. infact 2 clutches. A shifting clutch that disengages when shifting (actuated when you use the foot shifter, when clicking up or down a gear this clutch is used for smooth gear engagement on shifts) and a centrifugal clutch thats used when accelerating from a stop.

    The same would apply for honda rancher 420cc manual shift ??

      Not sure but ur clutches are on the front not the side

    So what does this do do u have to do this because I just rebuild my rear end u think I should do this ?????

    • @connorwilson5049
      @connorwilson5049  3 роки тому

      Should after you rebuild your rear end, has nothing to do with the clutches try backing the lock nut off a little and if that doesn’t work then try to idle it down it also makes the shifter have play and u want it to have alittle play but it’ll shift hard if to tight like if the shift doesn’t move up and down a little without shift kind has that free space need about 1/2” on both up and down movement that should be set perfectly like that

    If I send you a picture of my adjustment by email can you tell if I have anymore adjustment in it??? Just bought this thing & the clutch is slipping

    • @DillonTurner395
      @DillonTurner395 2 роки тому +1

      With most atvs there are 2 clutches. A centrifugal clutch for accelerating from a stop, and a shifting clutch that disengages when you pull up or push down on the shifter to shift making the shift smoother and easier on the trans instead of gears just bashing together. All screw adjustments like this ONLY adjust the shifting clutch. If you accelerate from a stop and it slips very badly then grabs either most likely you are too full on oil or the centrifugal clutch is worn. Dont after see the shifting clutch worn unless it was driven while adjusted improperly.
