    judging by the wood dust color could be sumac or walnut. A very well seasoned piece i might add as it would be challenging with a knife but perfect for the rotary burr. Sycamore is a great wood for this 3 years into its seasoning. Great Job!

    Ive done a lot of carving on
    "fat wood", which as you know is the very inner part of pine limbs, after a tree has rotted. Your burrs look interesting! I noticed that it looks like you're carving cedar ---- which carves like butter --- love it!
    How easy is it to carve harder woods?
    Note -- I like using three bladed wax carving burrs from "Rio Grande" jewelry supply!

      Because I have no idea what kind of wood are available around you just go into a hardware store and look around. Lately I find poplar In my local hardware store and become my favorite wood to power carve. cedar also good just a little bit more grainy. Hope this helps

      Jay C Hi I think that one is oak and it was under water for long time. Really hard to tell. Kind of medium soft. Really like the color and I usually using only danish oil to finish.

      Nice Day Hey I just do it and learn from my mistakes there is a lot when I started but i still doing some. Anyway just do it and it doesn’t matter how its look like. That still yours. There are books available for starting.

      Amazon or eBay you can try. What i using are Foredom tx that’s with the silver hand piece and dremel 3000.

    How do you keep from ripping off your fingertips? And what safety techniques can you share with a guy new to power carving.
    I'm having trouble with control of the bits as they grab or dig in...I guess it's going to come with time, but any tips would be appreciated 👌

      I think the way to avoid is to be slow and don’t force the bits. strong grip helps too.

    Фреза еж 0.6 мм бормашинка или же гравер пневматический . Метод знаком различный хоть татянкин или Благовещенский знаменитый . Американский не когда не использовал .

      Wladimir Silva Gomes Hi the wood simply driftwood I collect them nearby. The power carver with the shiny silver handpiece brand name foredom tx and the darker one Dremel 3000.with the collet foredom can except and handle sizes up to 1/4. Dremel not so much I usually use 1/8 or under.

      I have a video showing what I using. I have a split mandrel and what I doing is wrap around with sandpaper.

      Juba Amazigh Hi I using two . First one with the silver hand piece called Foredom tx. The second one called Demwl 3000. You can purchase both on eBay, or Amazon or there website.
