Back in November of 2020, I was laid off from my position as a Site Director for a nonprofit after school program. I found out when I didn’t have access to my company email and got a call at 8:00am telling me to get on a zoom call. I was then notified that I was being laid off from my position due to funding, that someone from outside my residence was waiting for me to collect the company’s phone, laptop and ID badge. I was then given my final paycheck and immediately applied for unemployment. I was a little upset but I wasn’t worry so I hit the ground and started applying for other positions. A month later in December 2020, I had an interview with public post-secondary institution for a Program Coordinator position and I was hired that month and started working the following month in January 2021. Full-time salary position with excellent benefits and I work two days in the office and the other three days remotely. I later on found out that majority of my former coworkers left that company too and some are finding it hard to find another position, while some have found better ones. Throughout this experience, I learned that it’s a great sign for you to be somewhere where you are not only valued but appreciated. Like a breakup in a relationship or friendship, you gotta pick yourself up and move onto something greater.

August of last year I was wrongfully terminated due to my director who I worked directly for filing a false claim against me indicating I falsified medical documentation. I had an interview for the Federal Government one week before I was terminated. I was hired for that same job I interviewed for & filed a claim against the director who was forced to resign since I had proof. I'm praying by this point you've found employment. If not, I can connect with you further to see if any positions are available
Im so sorry about the loss of your job. I was unemployed for 7 months before i started working again so i completely understand. Best of of luck to you and prayers. Come To Atlantic city NJ we have millions jobs in this area
I definitely wasn’t prepared when I got laid off from my corporate job in 2008 while I was a full-time college student. I filed for Unemployment Benefits immediately, and I searched for a new job. You have a Degree, years of work experience with one company, and NO criminal record!! You will be just fine!! Get your hustle ON and you don’t have to move back home!!!
You will find another job because you have the skills and experience under your belt . Don't stress yourself out about being laid off, life happens. You will adapt.

Yes, it has happened to me. I was laid off (terminated) because my coworkers didn't like me. My boss was a female too, which made it worse because she was faking telling me I was doing a good job.

Roderic, you have an education and no criminal record. You are blessed. You can be a substitute teacher. You can work in retail for a while. But you can alter your lifestyle. You'll be a MBA in September. You can revamp your goals. Become more austere and less profligate. It ain't the end of the world. It is what life is all about. there are only two guarantees in this life: death & taxes! Keep your chin up!
