@@carlatate7678 I think a lot of people seem to get their pieces rubbing off and being ruined over time. But re-buying the base game would be about the same price as these so..idk why ppl wouldn't just do that? I've heard cheap coin cases work too.
Love Gamenight! There is no episode I haven't watched, and none of them have disappointed. Although games may have been ones I didn't like, still the entertaining part is the group of players and the atmosphere while playing . Thanks for being my guideline to how to be a proper player within the game group and which games to look up. Cheers!
Thanks for these videos, they're a great way to refresh my memory. My interpretation of the Locoweed rules seems different to those mentioned at about 4:30, I'm not sure if the rules were clarified or changed, but the manual states "it has the same action and value as the last colored chip in the pot. Ignore while chips". This suggest to me that you'd pretend no white chips exist in the pot, then copy the last colored chip that was placed, so the colored chip may have been three chips back if 2 white chips had been placed after, but that colored chip's actions would still be copied. The rules then say "If no colored chips have been placed, the Locoweed chip has a value of 1", so it only has 1 if there are no color chips in the pot, not if the last chip in the pot was white. I'm still watching the video so not sure if later on it's interpreted differently to that described at the start. Thanks.
Someday someone is going to create an overlay for the pot where the bubbles get slightly darker the higher you go so that's it's easier to see where your last token is.
We own the base game and play it a lot - this expansion looks fantastic. I hope they'll continue to put out more expansions, different chips, and player board options. So much fun. Thanks guys!
oh wow, i just yesterday ordered the expansion because the Quacks of Quedlinburg is finally a game i can play with my parents and they understand and enjoy it. And now (well technically you uploaded this before i ordered but i just now see it in my recommended) you uploaded a video about it. This is so perfect
I was debating on buying this expansion, but the added variety looks phenomenal. Plus the addition of the 5th player, done. Bought it and I can't wait.
For anyone who loves Quacks, this is an instant buy. It's such a great addition to the base game and gives you more choices. The witches are the best addition to the game. There have been several times when I've busted and wished I could get both of the benefits. So the silver witch is my favorite! Also, in most of the games that I've played it always seems that the rat tails help people slingshot into first place in the later rounds. One player went from dead last to first place in the last round because the other players busted and she didn't. This game can be very brutal some times.
yeah but also since it has this kind of deckbuilding aspect to it it can very well be that one player focuses on maximising his deck for the ultimate final rounds rather then slightly better immediate rounds (that's what i tend to do a lot). So i intentionally get things that hurt me in the short term, thus giving me more rat tails, and ending up with a really strong late game deck.
They glossed over Deborah's win a bit but this was one of my favorite episodes. I've added this game pretty high on my "to buy" list. Base game though, I might get the expansion but much later since there's so much variety from the get go.
@Artr Thormodr well we are all people, and when not everything goes the way we would want it to we are quick to blame anything else but ourselves. Blaming luck in a game that involves a decent amount of it is just the easiest thing that comes to mind ;)
@Artr Thormodr To be fair, she drew all white, 2 goes in a row. That is pretty bad luck if you ask me ! If she was complaining that about bursting her pot because she kept trying to squeeze one or two more chips when she was towards the end of her bag, then yeah that would be silly to complain about.
17:42 - Actually its the opposite Lincoln. Black is every color, hence when you mix paints to get black you mix ALL colors or at least every primary color. Black is the absorption of all colors. White is the reflection of ALL colors. Hence while white can lighten a color, any color added to white taints the white into another color.
As cute as the token holder boxes are, I might check the dollar stores (DollarTree) for glass or plastic bowls. I found a flexible plastic oval 2 handled bowl shaped like a basket that was small and could contain 3 dice thrown into it. The price was 2 for a dollar for this plastic bowl shaped like a basket and the sloping sides ensured that the dice tumbled. And it did not make as loud a sound as a wood or glass or hard plastic bowl would have made. Since we have a dog that tries to steal the dice and have children that throw the dice too hard or in random directions when excited and adults who do that too, it was a helpful addition to the table. I have seen tiny round clear condiment bowls that stack that would hold the tokens.
Those plastic chips VS the cardboard look amazing! If only the geekstore had them instock right now! (And ideally were not more expensive than the entire game). Our cardboard pieces are already wearing down and if you really feel the cheap you can tell where the whites are.
I bought coin capsules (22mm ones) spent 18 bucks! Check them out! Good alternative and feels nice. But I admit these geekbits are even better but overpriced.
Was there a final ruling on whether you can put non-whites back into the bag when you drink the potion? I can see that being useful for greens for example (where you want them last or second to last in the pot).
not sure what you mean with "final ruling" but no you are only able to remove the last played white token if it is also the last token in the cauldron with the potion (unless there is a card or witch that allows you otherwise which i am not sure about)
