Glad I found your video, Rich! I was wondering why my headphone repair didn't work: I didn't know to burn off the enamel. Thanks for the thorough instructions.
You're truly the greatest. You're so nice you don't even ask for a sub. but that doesn't mean you're not getting one. 10/10. love yo' ass so much. Many thanks!

All the best :)
Hi, I have the same bose in ear headphones as you, however there is a wire break at the left earbud itself which essentially breaks the connection to the earbud. Is there a way that i can fix this?
is it necesary change the jack ? because my earphones just half of the speaker that broken
I have a pair of Noontec Zoro's, and the cable is broken right at the mic/pause button. What should I do?
THANK YOU
Glad to help out!
excellent work....
Ok..so..I successfully clipped trimed and separated ,burned off coating.on the bigger headphones I need to fix. Ones I thought was similar was just male to make and just had white yellow n green.so only other headphones are these ear buds. That splits in two one had red &copper other green &copper. So do I just twist greens and reds together from both headphones.than just tie 1 copper from one to both the coppers on the other and basically just tie all 3 coppers into one🤔
Sir? I don't know If you still reply to this but my headphone broke because I pulled to hard on it now I only hear sound on the left side ( There is my microphone aswell) I don't really know what is broken really but could you tell me what is wrong and tell me what video to watch from you in order to fix it?
Soo my headphones have a red green and coper and my other ones white yellow red .
What corresponds to each other?
Hello, Rich!
I was wondering if you could make a video about How to fix echo in earbuds
Whenever I try to play music on my phone with my earbuds, the music is like this echoey-Kareoke type of music. Can you please make a video on how to fix this? Thanks.
Thanks for the idea! It sounds like the start of a short occurring somewhere in the cord and / or plug.
i think my wires are broken from the mic part.how should i open the mic part ?
can i remplace the TRRS Plug whit TRS plug ( iphone headphone ) help please !!!!!!!!
Aren't the two ground wires for left and right separate to minimize crosstalk and maximize channel separation?
Yes, but when repairing them I found it easier to combine them.
Probably isn't noticeable anyways on a regular basis. Do you have any tips on how to repair the y-split in headphones? Especially a set with a flat ribbon cable. Not sure the best way to deal with heatshrink in that case.
I like it.
Nice, thanks for watching.
welcome
how can i do this with the new apple earplugs? they have 6 wires R,G,C,RGC,RC,GC. thanks for the help
Yes! I made a video actually showing this: "Headphone w/ Microphone Repair (Unbroken Headphone Set)"
IF POSSIBLE COULD YOU MAKE A VIDEO ON USING MULTIMETER FOR FINDING LEFT RIGHT AND MIC WIRES IN THE EARPHONE.THANK YOU
I'm in the mist of buying a house and starting a new job, so I've been slow on posting videos. I have a list of videos I'm planning on making. This one should be completed soon!
RichsMethods Thank you
funny thing is. I'm watching this video and cant fucking hear it.
Hi rhichs i have a seennheiser pc 330 headset and i can't hear a thing when its plugged to any device. how do i find what's wrong and how to fix it? i suspect its the wires but i dont know for sure.
Here's how to locate a short: In order to determine where the short is occurring, do the following: While listening to music, bend the wire starting from the plug and work your way up to the earplug (make sure to do the Right and Left wires separately, in other words, after they split). Bend the wire back and forth, and carefully try to keep the other parts of the wire steady. I suggest taping the wire down as you move towards the earplugs, just to make sure you are not bending other parts of the wire (and getting a false positive). What will happen is the music will cut in and out in the area where you bend the wire, which is where the short is occurring. Then you could cut out the "bad" portion of the wire using the steps I show in my "How to Repair Headphone Wires" Video.
If you cannot locate the short, then it is probably at the plug itself, and you'll have to replace the plug like I show in this video or my other videos in my headphone playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PL380B15A8B48AAFF3.html
hey rich I have a senhieser HD202 headphones and suddenly one day right haedphone started to have loose connection problem but left part happens to work perfectly can u pls help me with this problem
Have you tried to find where the short is located? In order to determine where the short is occurring, do the following: While listening to music, bend the wire starting from the plug and work your way up to the earplug (make sure to do the Right and Left wires separately, in other words, after they split).
If the short seems to be occurring at the plug, then you could follow my video entitled:"How to Repair or Fix Headphones" or "Headphone Repair using Unbroken Headphone Set". Good luck!
OMG IT WORKES you saved my ass! My little asshole dog chewed my apple earphones but I’m saved now! Woah I can’t believe I was able to do it wow
On of mine has 2 and the other one has 3
Hey umm...i have a skull candy earphones but there is no green wire...there is 3 wires...which is blue, red and copper cloured dont know which is which can you help me out plz...:-)
Treat the Blue wire as the green wire. It should be the right earphone.
My headphone volume is low, can you make a video how to fix that. When i put the volume very high it will be still low and i tried to plug it out and pug it in again but that wont work too, and i tried to turnt my whole tablat of and then plug my headphone in but that wont work too. So can you help me by making a video how to fix that? ;( thanks ;) -Djimairo koosman
Does skull candy headsphones work with sony xperia C
They should work as long as the plugs look the same. Also, the color of the wires may be different, which can make reconnecting the plug tricky. It might requires some trial and error (connecting and testing wires) before you permanently solder them.
thanx
Good videos. ow about a video on how to fix a USB stick that doesn't work any longer?
Thanks! That's a good idea. Maybe a vid that troubleshoots a nonworking usb drive.
I have one thin twisted white wire and a thicker twisted white wire, one blue wire one normal white wire and a copper wire on my headphone. What do i have to do?
I see that you commented on both of these videos. Do you know if your headset has a TRS or TRRS plug? Google an image. I assume that you have a TRRS. If that is the case, then the other video will be more helpful.
Its trrs, i commented on the wrong video sorry,
Daniel Kim The twisted white wires are your earphone sound conduction wires. I'd connect one of the striped wires to the red wire and another to the green wire. The copper and white wire would be your ground and goes to to the other copper wire. The blue wire goes to the red/green striped wire, this is your microphone / volume control. Hope this helps!
Hello sir Richs! :) I did this and i'm succesful but the music has no vocal, it's just instrumental, what am i gonna do? please reply thankyou! :)
You must not have enough wires connecting to each other. I'd probably disconnect the connection, use sandpaper or burn more of the enamel off of the wires (be careful!). Then reconnect them.
mahn.... what about those flat tangle free wires...
Rob World put video only if you see this message
