That's what I used to say .. like a person working at a place that sells head phones and you ask about quality. He says well.. you could get cheapest ones for 5$ that are really thin and will break in acouple months and have the minimal sound quality possible..exaple: have no bass all voice sound fragile.. straight garbage basically. Then goes up in price and quality though 3 or 4 brands till most expensive $100 dollars top quality wav compatible. Last about 10 years comes with 3 year warranty and code you can use in a website to download any 5 free songs..😁 right. .like I can understand if one is difficult to make and comes with attachments lights features for afew more dollars.but so many all different prices. And quality on a sliding scale. Just like what I said when one of my dope connects had two different qualitys some that's not that great for regular price and some 50% more $ for. That's like the quality of his usual real good stuff that should always remain regular price cause one should always strive to get top quality for all costomers at least at the standard going rates. But ...he did say he payed extra for the better stuff. So the company probly payed more for the beats.. than the skull candies..I'm guessing..right😎

I have only 1 person that always has best she can get and is always plugging fat. For along time . I do not deal with people who skimp for long..when there is anybody better that comes along. .those where last resort's and those days are long gone.

    Hey!!
I've an earphone that I intend to repair.
One cable has red, green, blue and copper coloured wires. So there's no prob here.
But the another cable has a red, blue, copper and copper twisted with white wires.
So I'm confused what the connections should be.
    Please help!!!!!!!

    • @RichsMethods
      @RichsMethods  9 років тому

First, untwist a portion of the copper wire from the white wire then connect in the following order:
      Red to Red,
      Green to Blue,
the Blue on the first wire listed above goes with the either the white wire or the copper twisted wires
Then the Copper wire on the first wire listed above goes with either the copper twisted wire or the white wire.
You might have to temporarily connect some of the wires to do some troubleshooting to determine if the copper twisted wisted wire goes with either the Blue wire or the Copper Wire on the first set.
      Good luck!

Dear rich... Thank u so much for ur videos... Now I have a clear pic in my head... But still there is indeed a small confusion... One of my skull candy headsets got broke.... And I figured out finally that the problem is with the plug... And I wanted to replace them with an old plug of mine from an old not working headset.... So in the old plug... There were 6 wires... 2 copper wires (gnd).. A red (right ear possibly).. A blue stripped (microphone maybe) and now for the confused part... There are 2 more wires... Blue and green.... So now my confusion is... Which one is the left and what is the other one for... But in the skull candy it's pretty much straight.. A red and a copper on one wire..( for the right)... And a green... A stripped green and a copper.. ( for the left along with microphone)... So can u pls help me out....
P.S....Thank u so much for ur other videos too... I gained a lot of knowledge from'em

Hi i need help my headphones have a microphone that worked for like 3 months then i accidentally pulled the cable and it stopped working. So the cable probably broke some where tho my headphones are working the microphone is not, so i took apart my headphones to get access to the microphone to see if the cables are ok and they where ok(the cables to the microphone where red and the other one was just copper). My headphones also had that thing where u can change the volume so i opened that up to check if everything was ok and it was, and now i really don't know where to look. I tried to bend the cable every inch to see if it will stutter but no stuttering. Pls help i really don't know what to do or where to look i even checked the cables with the multimeter.

This method is too messy, better buy the jack, it will hide the connections and it's cheaper than buying new headphones. Also get a soldering iron and solder, they are really cheap and can be used in the future, that way the wires won't get disconnected easily. Buy some heatshrink (it's cheap) so in case a connection is visible you can make it look better, electrical tape is messy, it'll get all gooey after a time and the connection is not really good.

I hate enamel coated wires. Such a pain in the ass. I went years not knowing how to solder enamel coated wires and threw out a few good pairs of headphones because they were enamel wired. I used to try just burning it off but that ever worked well then I finally grabbed some 500grit sand paper and got it to work a few years ago. I am still looking for a better solution though.

On my headphones the side with the microphone is broken, and there is no short-I tried turning the jack, wiggling the cord, etc. but sound never came back-but the mic/control still works. The headphones are fairly new and I don't want to get a new pair so soon. Is there anything else besides a short it could be, and is there a way I can fix it?
I am also quite careful with my headphones: I almost always wrap them nicely and gently and unplug them, but I do use them a lot and they are in my pocket a lot. Great video anyway!

Will Springgate Okay, here is my best guess, I'm going from Shure SE115's to the Skull Candies:
      Copper to Copper = Grounds
Copper to Copper wire wrapped around white wire = Grounds
I'm thinking the black and grey wires are also grounds, I'd try twisting them together with the other copper wires.
Red to Red = Right ear phone
Green to Green = Left ear phone
White to White = Microphone, volume switch (accessories)
If that doesn't work, try switching out the White wire on the Shure SE 115's with either the Black or the Grey (and place the white wire with the ground wires). For example, place the black wire on the Shure SE 115 with the white on the Skull Candies. Then place the Shure 115's white wire with the grey and copper wires (grounds). Iff that doesn't work, do the same thing with the grey wire.
It might take some trial and error but you'll get it!

I have a pair of Samsung headphones which had a problem with the ear loop so I decided to replace it with another ear loop. I followed the exact instructions. Since the ear loop I was trying to replace with had no speaker capabilities so I cut off the green "mic" wire. Then I exposed and cut off the insulation; burnt off the enamel with a lighter, wiped it off with my hand and then taped the two reds after winding them against each other...same dome for copper. Taped them individually too. No sound at all from the ear loop...the replacement ear loop had no problems initially...please help. I'm getting frustrated...

Hi there! Question: I have a headset for my pc with two male headphone jacks but my pc only has one female jack. Can I use this technique to convert them to one male jack headset? It would be really nice to have an answer,I don't want to buy new ones+ the ones with one male jack are a pain in the arse to find...pls answer!

If you are going to have to buy a new set anyway, I would give this a try. The wire will probably be kind of bulky once you are finished though.

Because people like me tend to have a lot of cheap £1 earphone lying around. So I can make use of its Plug WITHOUT having to do any soldering so I can use my nicer pair of earphones.

I was wondering. Say you bought a cheap pair of earphones to use as a jack, and you have high quality earphones, will that change the quality of the sound because the bottom jack is of lower quality?

Watches this video 5 million times, does it step by step, fucks up. Gets mad, says fuck it, twists all the wires together, works fine. (Kinda, still likes to mess up in sound quality a lot, but works good.) Btw, I'm not saying the steps in this video don't work, i think i just messed up a lot while trying to do the steps. On top of that, or was using two way different sets of headphones.(tried connecting ear bud jack to headphones that have a Mic but they're only meant for a computer because it originally had a USB jack .) If that makes sense. O.o
