Julie, I'm thrilled to see you taking a train between Montenegro and Serbia. This is something I plan to do solo next year - and I'd be a wreck not knowing the process. Thank you for this!
You are very welcome! This was the day train, not the overnight train so keep that in mind. I’ve heard the overnight accommodation is not fantastic. Thanks for watching:)
Thank you, Warren and Julie. Very helpful information for my next trip to Montenegro. I just returned a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it! I wish i had more time, so I will be planning another trip! The information you provided was helpful! 😊
Beautiful location with great scenery. I just hope it doesn't get spoiled by too much growth so fast. I've lived in places like that in the US. Keep the excellent videos coming!
Thanks. I really couldn’t believe I couldn’t buy the tickets online or for that matter anywhere but after I boarded the train:) Best of luck on the adventure.
Can’t believe tough girl like Julie was panicking riding alone on the train throughout Montenegro -Serbia .. those are one of friendliest people around and after all those years living in Balkans ..( you two love birds have a home/base in Kotor area )..I’m sure you guys are very familiar with the life style /habits of those , people ( most of them can communicate to some degree in English , and by now you two love birds should be able to speak few basic words in Serbian language too)..glad to see you guys still enjoy beautiful Balkans and your 30th year of marriage.. cheers,
I should have mentioned why I was nervous My friend didn’t realize where I started from and was telling me I was on the wrong train. I was certainly not worried about but about the Balkan people. Everyone was very kind to me and extremely willing to assist. I can recognize some Cyrillic letters and basic words. I have a long way to go to communicate effectively.
We will be doing a video on Zlatibor Serbia real estate but right now we do not have plans to do one on Kolasin or Zabljak though we have an estate agent friend who can help with that if needed. Thanks for watching:)
Do you think it is practical to stay in either of those towns without a car? Would you be able to get to grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, etc on foot? I also prefer to stay out of the heat. Julie - your hair looks great.
Yes, you could definitely stay in Zlatibor or Kolasin without a car. We have friends staying in Zlatibor for a month without a car. It’s a very walkable city. Kolasin is tiny but does have public buses.
I'm just like Julia. I want it to be cool already. Budva was 98 Fahrenheit today. But the expat schools in Budva are hard to beat. Yes, it's true that information like the telephone numbers of famous hotels and restaurants are not to be found online, as nobody updates Google Places data nor thinks of putting a phone number on a Facebook or Instagram page 😅
If the question is if the Montenegro people speak better English than Serbian people, the answer is a massive no, even tho it makes no sense, since their whole industry is based on tourism.
Air B&B taking no responsibility with their agreements and rules. No protection for renters. I been using Air BB for years. Very alarming. Makes it harder to go after owners outside the USA. CHECK CNN NEWS
@@WarrenJulieTravel not totally true. Cameras are globally right? The challenge is it will be difficult ultimately to pursue legally abroad. Even in the USA Air B&B is taking no responsibility and if a legal claim is made to receive a settlement you must sign a non disclosure and this keeps it out of the courts and public info.
3 meals overthere for 60 euro is expensive mate, very expensive. Dont know where of wich restaurant this was but for sure they fuckt you up overthere, for sure. I come often in those regions and for a good meal i pay p.p about 11/15 euro, depends what you order but if i saw this its about 30 euro the most.
@@WarrenJulieTravel Yes i realise that very well, they smell and also notice that you are foreigners and are very enthusiastic and naive looking, you can live overthere but you never gonna understand the mentality from them for sure. I come often there because my wife is from there and whe are living in Greece and even in Greece you dont pay that amount for it. It dont gonna happen but if you can see what kind of table i have with my friends and family and the price i pay i think you gonna have a heart-attack from the amount, a way cheaper and a better filled table !!
@Charlie-Heikin-Asho-Nakamoto: You misunderstood (as I did initially). They had 3 people who each had 3 meals (presumably, breakfast, lunch, and dinner) = 9 meals for only ~ €60 … wow!
@@Charlie-Heikin-Ashi-Nakamoto what year were you last in Montenegro? Not sure if you follow our channel, but you realize we have owned in Montenegro since 2016 and have over 40 videos in Montenegro? As well as many Montenegrin friends? We have been to every corner of this wonderful country.
This is an excellent question. I attempted to ask about this when I was at the Kolasin train station. The train attendant saw Arya, our 13 kg dog and still said Da (yes) when I asked if the train was dog friendly. Arya could definitely not fit in a backpack. I will try to get more information on this.

€65 for those three plates of fast food and you thought that was a good deal?
This was for three people to eat three meals each. It’s not for just three meals. Averaged $7.22 per meal including Alcohol

@@WarrenJulieTravel that’s a bit more reasonable. In the video it came across as three meals for €65 as opposed to nine meals for €65. Thank you for clarifying.

IF that train was at 12:30 AM in Bijelo Polje it goes all the way to Novi Sad but only in summer season until 15 September
Thanks for this information. The second train did go all the way to NS.

98! Wow
Warren would be happy with that and I would be inside with the air conditioner blasting:)
How long is the train ride?
It depends on where you get on the train, but my ride started at 11:44 am and was over at 3:50 pm.
You're so correct about marriage compromise. Unfortunately the only compromise in my 35 year marriage was eventually how much Alimony I had to pay.
So sorry to hear that. 35 years is a very long time.
Just wondering, is there a big difference in the language barrier there as opposed to the coast?
There are fewer people who speak English in Kolasin than the coastal regions.
