    Fav LFO shape: Triangle. Its like the vanilla ice cream of LFO shapes but it just works.

    AJH makes such great modules. Can't go wrong with any of them.

      When cv is stuck in the knobs become attenuators but the knob setting that I had changes to zero (the cv is not “added” to the position I had). This design behavior is different from my other modules. Any advice?

      thanks, that's definitely my whole point and approach. To try and teach things and share ideas in not just a technical but a musical way.
      I can't promise you'll never see a cactus, in fact I've made several "ambient synth gardens" for a joke in some videos. Fun to get silly with that stuff sometimes.

    This is a fantastic module. Nice work AJH. Having used a pair of Electric Druid LFOs extensively for the last year or so, I have to say this is a great iteration that kept all of the features I like.

      I love everything about 2HP, save the HP.
      I wonder if even 2HP has an all 2HP case.
      My hands are just too big to have much 2HP that requires much touch. I use a iPad stylus to turn the knobs on my 2HP modules. The rubber tip on the stylus acts like a little gripper.

  • @redwoodword

    One cool use of the waveform twist that I have discovered is to use the module as a clock source. Set the waveform to square and modulate wave twist. It pushes your clock around in interesting ways but you still have an underlying consistency of an unchanging rate.

    • @DivKid
      @DivKid  2 роки тому

      Hi Ben, that sounds like an excellent use case. Some looseness / freedom with the tempo while retaining something constant about it.
      However if the thing you're clocking takes the rising edge of the pulse the rest of the pulses width should have no affect? ... does this work with everything you can clock in your system or just some specific things?

    • @redwoodword
      @redwoodword 2 роки тому

      @@DivKid I've been using it to clock the 0-CTRL, which is just taking the rising edge. It's still a cool way to clock a sequencer because it moves those sequenced notes around when you modulate it but still within that constant overall tempo. External clocking of the 0-CTRL also frees up the speed knob to change the length of the envelopes that the 0-CTRL creates without changing the tempo of the sequence. I reckon this is an under-utilized aspect of that sequencer.
      I have also been sending a copy of the 'clock' from the Tap LFO to CV mixer and blending a little bit of it with other modulation sources to the send that CV mix to the filter. This means you get a bit of that full pulse width effecting the sound too.

    Hey just letting you know there is a certain troll who is calling out modular as useless, because they think a DSI Mopho can do what modular can?
    You know, and I know they don't know what they're talking about. Most people who have never used modular do not understand signal flow to begin with.

    I really love using mad LFOs to drive modulation on things like the BIA and Akemie's Taiko to create strange beats.
    My favourite wave shape is probably the one simulating a bouncing ball with gravity.
    Think I'll take the concepts here and try and use them in VCV Rack or Bitwig to output crazy complex LFOs via ES-3 into my modular.
    As fun as it looks £250 for a single LFO is a bit rich for my blood. If I get four LFOs for £60 with a Doepfer A-145-4 and sum them via a Maths I can get a lot of variation and it's really tweakable especially if you loop in something like a Rides in the Storm QUA to attenuate them.

    Love square wave LFO’s. Something about the sudden, strict, rhythmic feel. One of my favorite uses is that I made a patch that was the same pitch/velocity signal going to two different patches, essentially, but then using a square wave LFO to alternate between which patches’ audio was going through at a time so that they weren’t playing together at the same time. Sort of a poor man’s wavesequencing.

    It would be beneficial to see how you patched many examples through a diagram for the paid patrons. As incredible as it sounded, it was a bit bewildering. At times the explanations aren't enough without the whole visual context. It would be great to pan the camera to a zoomed-out state for a second so that one could pause the video to see the patches. It might not be 100% clear, but it'll add more context for the novice and intermediate. Thanks for your content!

      as I say it's limited, I should have said in the circuit (to be clear) which means it will not go any lower with negative voltages. 0.05Hz is the limit however you try to get slower.
