I’ve always read that we are the poorest state, but our people are the most generous - out giving others states by far, especially during critical situations.
I adore Mississippi. If my beloved Pass Christian disappeared, I would be crushed. I may not have been born in Mississippi, but I believe it was a mistake. We’d miss Natchez for the architecture, Tylertown and Columbia for the amazing food, Hattiesburg and Oxford for the schools and amazing writers.
I get so frustrated with people who seem to think Mississippi is a backwater poop hole. Then I think that I know what we are and I am proud of what we are. I wear shoes and can hold a conversation with almost anyone. I have friends of every walk of life. We have so much good food, good literature, Good people, good life. I guess, let em think what they want cuz I know what we are.
In 1973 out of the top 50 people made a living writing 35 was from MS 7 lived in greenville always thought this was kind of funny for such a backwards state ,by the way being sarcastic
