    Installed the Hinged Gas Cap last night. went in just like the video. The biggest pain is the large gasket...I finally got it in. Works great. Thank You very much. Also being in California, I was impressed how fast it got here.

    So many things like this that really should have just come from the factory. I'll certainly be buying one in the near future!

      I read somewhere its because as an ADV bike going anywhere in the "wilds" as such or whatever you may not always be filling from a nozzle so the cap is removable in order you can use any type of container to refill. For real world use, this one here is way better though, Yamaha should have given the option of a different cap like this or at least put a tether on the original.

    Does this impact the seal of the gas cap at all? I have a camel tank which relies on a good gas cap seal, it would seem this leaves that unchanged but curious.

    • @alrightdave6135
      @alrightdave6135 3 роки тому +2

      @@borys609 it’s a pain in the ass to not have the fuel cap on a hinge. If the cap drops on the floor, it is very brittle and breaks easily. Plus when you are filling up at the gas station, you don’t have to faff around putting the cap in a safe place. A new cap is expensive to replace and if broken on a long tour, it will be a nightmare.

      Just trying to understand.
      I used to ride few dual sport or just enduro tourer bikes and only one of them had hinged cap (R1100 GS). The rest of them had regular cap which didn't matter at all... They worked the same.
      So I'd ask the question again: What's the point of having it? What's the advantage?

    I recently ordered and paid for this product to be sent to Australia. Apart from not having received it, this company never had the courtesy to reply to my numerous emails requesting an update as to the delivery process. I am very skeptical of the authenticity of this business. If the business would like to contact me to arrange purchase, I would welcome that. gerhard (Eltham, Australia)
