Right on! It was a fun time (and a fairly long time, really) to get it all together, but I'm pretty happy with it overall. Awesome video! I plan on making my own fightsticks very soon and this was very inspiring. I do have one question though… im wondering how i can make a fight stick as slim as possible i just really like that look
You can bend the prongs slightly on your buttons, or you can solder them on their sides to save some space (check out 14:25 for that). About 2" thickness is fairly reasonable. Good luck on your build!
It was definitely a cool stick to begin with, and it turned out well with the Sarimanok restoration theme (and it was cool to work with a Filipino artist to make sure everything was on point). Thanks for your comment!
Yes! I am still lost and searching for a SF6 main, but no one on the current roster is half as cool as him. It's been hard. Anyway, thanks for watching and for your recent comments/support!
@@HushMySweet1 I had to go with Jamie, his style some to my soul lol. And no problem just stumbled upon your channel and we just happen to have similar interests
On your storm shadow stick, did you make the dustwasher yourself? or did you commission someone to do it? I liked the look of a lower battop and want to do a similar build.
I think I found the dust washer on some etsy site a long time back. It was originally magenta or some odd color, but I had a miniature painting buddy paint it red (and I think he used a wash and some clear coat or something) to match the red of the cobra. I used a short shaft on a Sanjuks V3 and then a white resin injection-molded batball top. The batball and short shaft gives it a lowrider look/feel. Hope that helps!
i've been playing fighters for about a month. got 15ish games on sale or from the playstation premium membership then bought an f300 with the intent of eventually building a leverless. struggled with the stick for a few days but now i have the form and everything, super comfortable on stick, so i'm leaning towards my first build being a stick instead been looking up custom boxes for inspiration and this video has a lot. honestly better than google results. currently looking up hardware and i'm thinking mechanical buttons and a medium korean stick. i'm not sure if the f300 is a decent representation of sanwa buttons, i've heard they're cheap knock offs but also not far off, and they're not bad but think id rather have more resistance and snap to my buttons
Glad it helped! This was my first vid ever so I need to update it at some point. I have some other vids comparing different buttons, as well as some building out controllers with full part lists, which you may also find helpful. Good luck in the build!
The crypt keeper mesmerizes me. Any chance you'd sell that? I don't even own a fight stick I've been browsing around, I don't play fighting games yet either...
lol, thanks! That one holds a special place in my heart (and was the one I took to the last Evo I was at) so I'd be pretty reluctant to let it go. Good luck in your hunt for your perfect stick and your journey into fighting games. Sticks and fighting games are just great.
@@HushMySweet1 no worries I wouldn't sell it either if I were you, worth a shot. I just bought all the stuff today to build my very first one. Time to learn fighting games. Thanks for your videos
21:10 yooooo i got a 2nd impact stick (i'm from brazil though lmao, it was easy to get) i had mine completely custom made, slam dunk manga/anime artwork with a basketball balltop and the buttons are transparent with part of the artwork inside them, full seimitsu parts they recently started building their own stick that uses 4 keyboard mx switches, i still couldn't get my hands on one of their new sticks (i'll get the stick standalone of course)
Hey, thanks! My first one over a year ago now so I look back at some of these earlier ones and think how I'd do it better these days (I'm sure I'll likely think the same thing in six months about the videos I'm doing now, so it's probably a never-ending journey). Anyway, thanks for your nice comment. The GG track is by itself on this channel if you ever want to listen to it without my fightstick ramblings over the top. Thanks for watching.
It probably breaks down to about a new one every three months to get what you see in this vid. Some of the classics (B15, Nitewalker, etc.) just have to be pounced on when I see them come up for sale at a reasonable price. Other, newer ones like the Mark Bueno marquetry case, I commissioned based on my art, and then just put together. So it's a bit of both. There are a few heavy-hitters I have yet to add to the collection, but they may turn up for me one day. Thanks for watching!
i only have 1 8bitdo N30 fightstick with UFB board, JLF lever with Crown 202 buttons & 1 3D printed all-button/hitbox fightstick designed by Jfedor with Brook Wireless & Sanwa buttons. they're more than enough. i have a medium carrying bag just the right size to fit both of them if i need to bring them to a venue or an offline gathering.
Holy crap those are incredible! Love thay Vega stick. You sell custom sticks? Also what was the cable that you used inside the vega stick? Looks like a pretty heavy duty cable.
I make and sell sometimes, but because I don't have a true fightstick business, I don't like what I can charge. Maybe that will change in the future if I can go all-in with some bulk buys and such, but not atm. The cables are just the same, but you can sleeve it (search paracord) just to make it look cleaner and more professional. Thanks for watching!
I use a short shaft on a lot of my builds. It's just a shorter than standard shaft you can insert into a JLF/ Sanjuks V3 / whatever. I think this one is more noticeable because it also has a batball topper so the whole thing just looks more squat. Thanks for watching!
Question, please. Are you getting these customs fully built, or acquiring the cases and then building the actual components on to it? Your collection is beautiful and I have been obsessed with getting just 1 if these for a few weeks now.
It's a mixed bag. Some came assembled and some instances, I just grabbed the case and finished myself. And then others came with parts but then I upgraded them with newer components.
The eyeball one came from ChrisF or "Fightstickguy." He was also the guy who made the case for that Garfield stick and he made me that Technodrome eyeball balltop for that TMNT stick. He's a super nice guy and has a website with some fun balltops and projects.
I'm afraid I don't know. Maybe B15 with some graphic design image manipulation? I don't know a whole lot about that one outside of the Iron Galaxy connection.
Just wondering did you also use a proxy service Satsui custom? I tried to ask about ordering from them, and they don’t ship state side? And also would you happen to know any enclosures that are out at the moment; that have frame kinda look for the art? My apologies if that doesn’t make any sense.
1) Satsui shipped to me directly. This was a while back, so they may have changed their policies since then. 2) I am not quite sure I understand what "frame looks" are though. Can you give me an example? I'm happy to help.
@@HushMySweet1 A example I guess would be like your B15sdm restoration "Sarimanok" or Satsui Customs "Hush My Sweet" in the video, I'm looking for something that has that border or almost picture frame esk look on the face panel. Giving the art on the face panel that picture frame kinda look. What I'm not looking for would be something like the B15sdm "Stay Free", where the art covers the whole face panel and has a borderless kinda look. I think a 15--18 inch case would be nice, although I think the sweet spot would be 16 inch. And the material doesn't matter to me it can be wood, metal, or acrylic as long as it has that picture frame tap panel kind of look. It would be nice if the case could be easily paintable or if them offer painting services, I'm looking for a dark/navy blue color. This would be a stickless build, preferable a shoukien star layout or if they custom layout that would be nice. Although a classic hitbox layout would be fine if thats not possible.
Mark only made the case. My wife ordered a rose encased in resin from some flower etsy shop as a surprise. Then, because I didn't have any big tools at the time, I sent it to a buddy who drilled it out for me. (You can kind of see how that works in a video I did on stone balltops)
You're right, but typically that is all you need since you could put it together yourself pretty easily even with no experience (so it just seems to be offered far less than it used to be). That said, JonyFraze, Eternal Rival, Fightstickguy, Wood Tier, Jasen's Customs, etc. all have full build packages if I remember correctly. If you wanted a different enclosure beyond those just mentioned, you could probably commission someone to put it together for you in the r/fightsticks discord server. Regardless, good luck with the build and I hope you get what you want!
@@HushMySweet1 Fair enough! Some of the links are dead as well sadly. I suppose I mostly need help putting together a part list and figuring out what I actually need.
@@PlatinumRmx Check out my all-button build video. I list most of the parts you'd need. If you want a joystick version, then just add a joystick and skip the conversation harness I mention. (And maybe skip the Brook PCB in lieu of an appropriate GP2040-CE based one since it will be much less expensive). Good luck!
I have a vid about fightstick bags from like a year back. I usually use the Qanba Aegis because it's huge and can accommodate any stick with some room for extras (PS4, pillow, etc.). If you have a smaller stick or like to travel light, then there are a few better options. Also, I actually have a new stick bag coming from a kickstarter project hopefully soon here. It looks pretty sweet and I am looking forward to trying it out. Will definitely post a vid on it when it arrives and I get to check it out firsthand.
It is! Just scroll back through the history of this channel. At the beginning there is the GG track you're looking for, along with some other fighting game tracks, all sort of synthwave-inspired covers.
lol, I need to redo that vid at some point. It was my first one and it shows. Maybe I can squeeze one in at the end of the year. Thanks for stopping by, Alex! Hope you're well!
I thought the V1 had the aux buttons positioned differently? Either way, the email conversation with jony about this build back in 2019 was about a V2. But, I guess I don't know every difference between the versions, so maybe it does have V1 sides. Thanks for watching!
@@HushMySweet1 it's not a big deal. But V1 sides do not fit the V2 top and bottom panels. I know this because on my V1 I broke a side panel some how and I bought a replacement from focus attack but they sent me v2 panels instead ( they made it right). But I'm like 90% it's a v1. Btw great collection you have some real bangers
A ton of other builders and fightstick people were involved with most. I usually just had a hand in the art or wiring up cases which were built for me. There's a lot of talented builders out there! Thanks for watching.

The eyeball one came from ChrisF or "Fightstickguy." He was also the guy who made the case for that Garfield stick and he made me that Technodrome eyeball balltop for that TMNT stick. He's a super nice guy and has a website with some fun balltops and projects.
@@HushMySweet1 Thank you ! I´ll check his website.
Any idea who did the artwork on the Ibuki stick?
I'm afraid I don't know. Maybe B15 with some graphic design image manipulation? I don't know a whole lot about that one outside of the Iron Galaxy connection.
Omfg that Ibuki stick I always wanted one but never can track one down.
If you ever letting it go please let me know
Just wondering did you also use a proxy service Satsui custom? I tried to ask about ordering from them, and they don’t ship state side?
And also would you happen to know any enclosures that are out at the moment; that have frame kinda look for the art? My apologies if that doesn’t make any sense.
1) Satsui shipped to me directly. This was a while back, so they may have changed their policies since then. 2) I am not quite sure I understand what "frame looks" are though. Can you give me an example? I'm happy to help.
@@HushMySweet1 Would you happen to have a gmail or discord I could contact? I think youtube keeps deleting my comments because it thinks it spam.
@@HushMySweet1
A example I guess would be like your B15sdm restoration "Sarimanok" or Satsui Customs "Hush My Sweet" in the video, I'm looking for something that has that border or almost picture frame esk look on the face panel.
I do have imgur link with examples of what I'm looking for, but youtube won't let my comments with it stay.
@@unclejorge1619 Answered you on Discord!
Man...do you know how he made that rose ball top? Or at least got it from😭?
Mark only made the case. My wife ordered a rose encased in resin from some flower etsy shop as a surprise. Then, because I didn't have any big tools at the time, I sent it to a buddy who drilled it out for me. (You can kind of see how that works in a video I did on stone balltops)
Can the FAQ page be updated most of the custom makers only make cases. Looking for a stickless custom
Good luck!
Dammit not another hobby. Now I'm hooked.
lol, and down the rabbit hole you go... (it's a cool hobby though)
What’s your favorite fightstick bag for travel??
I have a vid about fightstick bags from like a year back. I usually use the Qanba Aegis because it's huge and can accommodate any stick with some room for extras (PS4, pillow, etc.). If you have a smaller stick or like to travel light, then there are a few better options. Also, I actually have a new stick bag coming from a kickstarter project hopefully soon here. It looks pretty sweet and I am looking forward to trying it out. Will definitely post a vid on it when it arrives and I get to check it out firsthand.
what song is playing? sounds like a a remix of a guilty gear song
It is! Just scroll back through the history of this channel. At the beginning there is the GG track you're looking for, along with some other fighting game tracks, all sort of synthwave-inspired covers.
waiting for a 2024 one lol
lol, I need to redo that vid at some point. It was my first one and it shows. Maybe I can squeeze one in at the end of the year. Thanks for stopping by, Alex! Hope you're well!
Donde te hacen los stick???
Por lo que entendi en el video, la mayoria el los hace, o compra las cajas y el ensambla todo, depende del stick eso si
Ölçuleri nelerdir?
All the dimensions are in the video at the start of each fightstick clip.
The Captain planet 1 should also have the Ted Turner quote or ill fuckin kill you ahh robot chicken capt plaent lol
Actually yeah, that could have been a fun quote too! Thanks for watching!
@@HushMySweet1 I been wanting to do this for years and make them and even wanna make 1 2 or 3 button ones for super simple games lol
I'm pretty sure the devastator stick is a BnB V1, the v2 side panels connect with little squares, the V1 are like slits,
I thought the V1 had the aux buttons positioned differently? Either way, the email conversation with jony about this build back in 2019 was about a V2. But, I guess I don't know every difference between the versions, so maybe it does have V1 sides. Thanks for watching!
@@HushMySweet1 it's not a big deal. But V1 sides do not fit the V2 top and bottom panels. I know this because on my V1 I broke a side panel some how and I bought a replacement from focus attack but they sent me v2 panels instead ( they made it right). But I'm like 90% it's a v1. Btw great collection you have some real bangers
@@nellen55 Thanks for the info and for watching!
Tales from the Crypt and the Kool Aid one are definitely the coolest
Thanks!
Donde te hacen los stick??
A ton of other builders and fightstick people were involved with most. I usually just had a hand in the art or wiring up cases which were built for me. There's a lot of talented builders out there! Thanks for watching.
