Hahahahah I'm glad it's not just me with the deop shot. I put a lot of time in with it this year and I'm a lot more comfortable. I really had to force myself to use it. I do think it has a time and place though.
I throw a dropshot about twice a year only on deeper lakes and I catch dinks with it but when I try that ned rig i just get snagged every cast and go to my good ole shaky head worm
I definitely agree with just about everything you had to say. Chatterbait and Ned have been my favorites the last 2 years. Some of your “worst lures” I’m glad I didn’t buy because to be honest I never found them all that intriguing. Great video brother! Keep cranking them vids out!
Great honest recaps, much appreciated! There’s a lot of things that simply don’t work for me, that other people smash bass on. For me, it’s chatterbaits and swim jigs. I can’t get a bite on a good day for anything. However, creature baits on a Texas rig and Ned rigs kill it for me all season long. Thanks for sharing Debo, can’t wait for the 2020 season of vids.
Hi Debo, appreciate your videos and instructive content. I'm renewing fishing hobby after 30 plus year exodus and your channel has really helped me understand the techniques, equipment and bait/lures that did not exist back then. You're the best! Also, I agree with you re the Melee. I had problems keeping the lure in the strike zone. It kept rising quickly in column. Others told me to bend the blade, but that didn't help and the crevice for the blade kept getting blocked anyway. I'm actually glad it's just not me that had issues with it. I thought since I'm newer, I must be doing something wrong. Keep up great work Tim McC
Really like the honest opinions in this video!!! Tokyo rig produced some good bites for me last spring, but not a whole lot since! Still can’t say for certain whether I like it or not but I’m gonna keep trying.
Another great video brother. I was looking forward to this one. Always good to hear an honest opinion instead of a reviewer saying everything is great.
I agree. I tend to be more confident with a jig or Texas rig when I can fish slow and know what cover I'm fishing. I'm working on building confidence on moving baits beyond a lipless Square bill and swim jig.
Hey, Debo's! Thanks for sticking up for bank fishingmen. Not all of us can own a boat. Is it possible to go Pro being a bank fishermen? What's your opinion. I think your a pro at it! Great video! Putting your bait next to your hand is a very good idea. Shawn
No, I don't think they have pro bank fishing tournaments. I'm definitely not a pro! I'm a dude who loves to fish and share my story! Appreciate you watching my friend 👊
My favorites and most used was the Texas Rig and the 🐸. I used to be able to fish a "nice" pond and had alot of luck with a rattle trap. All of the other farm ponds that I fish aren't deep enough and have so much soft bottom that deeper crank baits only frustrate and discourage me. I have become more adventurous and have tried drop shot, wacky rig, chatterbait and the spinner bait. Mostly just learning how to fish and expand my knowledge. Enjoy the insight and your personal experiences with them all. I really appreciate the advice because I think we fish alot of the same types of ponds and small lakes. Spring is on the way!!
Nice Debo, I actually started using chatter baits after you did a video on them caught a ton of fish one of my favorite confidence baits for sure. Great video thanks for giving your honest opinions on all of these lures..
Lovely video Debo I love these tipe off video's thanks for your help and advice 👍👊I had the same problem with the Tokyo I will stick to the Texas rig 😀
I bought the Berkeley choppo on your recommendation and let me tell ya-Huge top water explosions! Great alternative to the pricey whopper plopper. I’ve never had an issue with the plastic cracking but what I did have was that the back spinning section actually bent a bit after a pickerel attacked it. Easy enough to bend back and it seems to work well enough now that I ended up buying a second in a bluegill pattern to match the hatch . Worth the money in my opinion
You always keep it real Debo, I love it. Bank fishing is a whole other animal and most UA-camrs just repeat the same bullshit they hear from everyone else. But I did have good luck with Tokyo rig last year. My favorite would be between the BD Jerkbait and Zmans Chatterbait.
Ayyyyyyyy!!!!! I got a Debo shout out! Thank you brother. I really enjoy your channel. My best bait of 2019 was a Skinny Dipper on a belly weight. My worst were the WaHoo spinnerbaits at academy. Every one had bad swivels. Ain't a good spinnerbait if the bait don't spin.
Debo thanks for the video. I need to work on the drop shot. I have no confidence in those. Texas rig is always a fav and then one that I really liked that you suggested was the Z-man Finesse Jigs that are awesome and work. Thanks again look forward to more videos and table top review on gear and what not.
Like you, I haven't had much luck with the Tokyo rig. I like the idea but gave up trying. I have had success with the Lunkerhunt spider running it over some cheese and it gets hammered. As far as the Megabass swimbait, I've just as much luck with it as a Reaction Innovations Skinny/Little dipper. Looking forward to the next vid!
Chatterbait was the ticket for 2019. Plenty of new lures to try this year; jerkbait, large swimbaits, the Dark Sleeper (lol), shaky head and others. Just got back into fishing after a 16 year hiatus. Keep those awesome vids coming Debo!
I like the end. Go practice foundational skills and get back to the basics when it’s a rough day.👍🏻 the pit boss Texas rigged was a good “if nothing is going right I can count on that bait” I want to get more confidence on chatterbaits next year hear to many good thing to not to!
I’m with you on those chatter bait customs from tackle warehouse...hands down one of my favorite lures and most used this year. Tied with the chatter bait would be the good ol pitching jig. Or any jig for that matter. Had a ton of luck on jigs this year and got addicted to the way fish bite them. Like you I’ve stocked up on many of my favorite lures and am looking forward to getting back out there! Awesome video bud👍🏻
They are the best bang for the buck when you hit the sale. Less than the price of the original with better options and hardware! I'm excited for open water man!
Debo, my favorites last year were the whopper plopper, a skinny dipper (which I don’t think get enough love), a joe’s fly in the black wooly worm, a reaction innovations flirt Texas rigged on a spinning rod and a googan baits drag n drop on a drop shot
Good video. The only florocarbon I've like providing I used it once was pline tactical. Had no problem with it what so ever. I was really nervous though because the last floro I used was absolutely crap had all sorts of problems with it and it was the Berkley Vanish. Will never get that stuff again. But will try the Pline tactical again. Most of the lures you showed I haven't used yet. But I can see your point about the megabass getting snagged too. I've seen those on tv a lot and once in the store and I look at them and think if a bass can easily show that hook then what stops a weed from showing the hook and getting snagged. But as always good job on the video. Some nice weather is coming up so I hope you get to go fishing soon. See ya next time.
I become a believer in the TRD ned rig with craws last year. Caught a crappie on accident with the Darksleeper and have got quite a few snagged out here in Kansas. Enjoy your channel.
Hi Debo. I live in Maine and fish a lot in vegetation. I fished the Terminator walking frog and fished it around Lilly pads really slowly. It worked really well if I just twitched it or moved it slowly. The fish usually hit it when it was still. My favorite was the black with yellow underbelly. I love your show.
Wicked video man! I agree with the spider, terminator, and dark sleeper. My spider got smoked by one bass and ripped. Second one same thing. I was done with it after that lol
Alex! Thank you very much for watching man! Yeah, I just struggled even finding spots to work the spider. Just gimme a daggum frog and let me swing for the fences! 😂 Appreciate you taking time to watch man👊👊👊
Agree with the dark sleeper. Was excited to try it out after seeing Tactical Bassin recommend it and lost one first time throwing it. Way less weedless than expected
Z-Man Project Z Weedless ChatterBait were an absolute hammer for me this year in the breaking bream color with a ktech swimbait as a trailer. Caught the 2 biggest largemouth of my life on them this past year
My favorite was definitely the Booyah Pad Crasher Jr. It’s just a much smaller profile compared to regular sized frogs, and it seemed to get me a lot more bites, especially from pressured fish that have seen the larger frogs twitch over their heads before. I actually ended up catching my PB on it last year so it still gets big bites too.
Chatterbaits are tied with TX rig as my go to rig. have beast coast miyagi and owner hooks in my cart now! I love paddle tails, but want to branch out a bit. Thanks Debo!
Texas rigged pit boss/baby brush hog and football head jigs for bass. Crappie/trout magnet for panfish 👍🎣 caught my PB largie in a zman chatterbait tho, white w a kietech as a trailer. Good stuff here, great content 💯
Pretty much new to fishing in 2019. I tried a lot of different lures. You are so right about the Chatterbait. That thing slays. My backup was always a senko because fishing with one is almost like cheating and I like not getting skunked. So far this year I have been killing it on a jerkbait, but I feel it’s use it going to be specific times and/or bodies of water. I do have a goal of landing a fish on all my lures, up next is the frog. Come on spring!!!
Thanks DEBO! I’m on the Chatterbait bandwagon. Great for me last year and just fun to fish IMO. Worst for me was the drop shot but that’s just because of lack of experience with it and confidence. Here’s to 2020!
My PB came on that exact Terminator frog. 8.3 lbs. My hooks were good out of the package but I don't doubt that you had an issue. Dark sleeper....MEH... Looks so awesome and is a solid design but I too have had little to no luck with them. Tight line brother and keep up the great work!
“The Tokyo rig bro?!” Lol that was me. I had a lot of luck with it last year. The melee jig on the other hand was absolute trash in my opinion. I had the same issues you had with two separate ones, to me the just don’t have the right action. Another nice viDebo 👍🏼
I lost my first dark sleeper on the 2nd cast from the bank. I was so excited and that really put a damper on the day. I'm going to try them when creek fishing for smallies as I think they look like great sculpin imitations.
I use the Tokyo rig in a very specific way. I will retrieve it constantly while always maintaining bottom contact. Basically reeling as slowly as possible while still always keeping the bait moving. As far as plastics go I will use 4.3 keitechs in darker colors a lot of the time. With the constant retrieve that tail is always back there kicking. Creature style baits work too, I'll just slow down my retrieve even more allowing some pauses. I think that mimics a craw a little better.
Great video Debo! My most productive and favorite lure of 2019 was definitely a black and blue jackhammer! Hands down a great lure for me. Keep up the great tips and advice buddy! 👍
Rusted hooks generally mean the product was probably stored in a non-air conditioned warehouse for a long period of time. The problem with Ned rigs is that they have the highest percentage of gut hooked bass.
Oklahoma's worst fishing gave you a shout out on his last video too💯 Debo's the truth✊ And I'd have to say the lure I didn't have any luck on was the swim jig. I don't know if I'm fishing it wrong or what but I couldn't dial it in and I caught zero fish. I'm definitely trying to expand my knowledge as an angler so I'm trying new stuff
Awesome! Oklahoma's Worst is a great dude! The thing that changed the swim jig for me was getting it in stuff and bouncing it off of things. Rocks, clipping grass, bumping wood, etc. Its very weedless so don't be afraid to put it in precautions spots!
Would you mind doing a video on pitching. I have tried it but got frustrated and gave up. I’d love to learn more about it. You’re an awesome help to my fishing. Thank you
Picked up some skinny dippers on your recommendation in bad shad green along side some trokar swimbait hooks in 3/0 and I'm stoked to try them this summer.
Wow I agreed with so much of the stuff in your dislikes section. Especially the Berkeley solutions!! Never again, back to Seaguar I go!! Heck I even caught a 6#er using the 12# Solution, and I never once actually broke off a nice fish... but like you said, I was randomly casting lures off if I didn't retie after literally every catch. Constantly checking my line for the smallest nic or tear🙄 never again.
@@DEBOSFishing Paranoid is right!! I remember one day I was pitching my one and only jackhammer right in front of the cattails and working it back here in Illinois, I swear I snapped that thing off on a light pitch 3 different times! Luckily right onto the bank every time, better believe we pulled the boat up and grabbed it all 3 times too😬😅 no shame. But yeah it's not worth saving the $10 on line..
Hey, Debo's My buddy was talking Carolina rigs. Have you made a cool video about this rig? If not could you show us how to do a Carolina rig your way. Or maybe a video on how to rig and fish it? Its going to be 62 and a little windy on Sunday 03/08/2020. Think I will try a craw colored jig with a Green Pumpkin Rage craw trailer. See ya at the Lake's. Shawn
I just want to say that I appreciate your opinions and the explanations about how you arrived at your decisions. Empirical evidence is kind of your thing and I like it so I smashed SUBSCRIBE
Just went to Academy Sports Store and got a 90 Wopper Plopper White Chartreuse and blue top. Bought Havoc pit bosses at Wal-Mart for cheap Green Pumpkin with purple flecks. Texas rigged sounds awesome. Will try both soon. Went fishing 2/1/2020. 59 degrees and 15 mph winds. Used White spinnerbait Indiana and Colorado blades and Redeye shad. Not one bite . But had a whole lot of fun. Bought a Quantum ACCURIST PT S3 reel and a 6'6 Cherrywood medium heavy bait caster rod. Great combo with 30 pound braid. Cast a couple time 40 to 50 yards with the wind at my back. That reel is a killer. Thanks for the info Man! SHAWN
I caught my PB last year on a Spro frog. Also did well with wacky rigged worms. I had some success with drop shot using all kinds of plastics - worms, creatures and even keitech paddle tails. Worst of the year was everything else!!
Cant wait to try some beast coast miyagi, just ordered some from TW, all based on your recommendations man. Also got a few of the Dark Sleepers, as a Bank fisherman I am now worried, but hey who knows worth a shot in my neck of the woods 2019 traditional weightless T Rigged Senko or a Ned Rig were my 2 best, crushed Smallies with the Ned Not Favorite was Frog... I know tried countless times landed topwater with Plopper but never a frog...
Nice! Let me know how you like the Miyagi! Don't be worried about the dark sleeper because of me. Just didn't work in my situations but you may crush on it! Good luck!
I really like the rage tail for a trailer, and I know a few people who always have a few different chatterbait tied on because some days they won't touch the regular chatterbait but will hit the thunder cricket or others like it.
you should try the berkley jester craw an amazing bait. i havent tried it but a jig im interested in trying is the missile jigs Ikes micro football. my best lure last year was the Ima pinjack 200 and a weightless finesse worm working it like a jerkbait.... 12 inch leader with a small swivel (works like a weight) works much better on an offset worm hook.
Dark sleeper is not weedless lol. There for soft bottom and light gravel. Great on points in cold water. There a bottom contact specialist dragging it slow. Worked for me.
Totally agree on the megabass "weedless" swimbaits, far too expensive for what you get, plus you can replace them with many cheaper option that will catch the same amount of fish for cheaper.
My best lure last year was a neko rigged Zman Bang Stickz, uaing their neko shroomz weight and vmc weedless neko hook. Caught lots of bass 4-5 lbs, rarely missed bites.
I find the Tokyo rig really shines for me when fishing brush. Where I need to go 2+ ft into the pile. It worked very well for me. It is very use specific for me.
I bank fish 95% of the time and slayed fish last year with the dark sleeper. Cast and slow retrieve back. Did so well with it, it became my other go to confidence bait, along with a Texas rigged weightless stick bait. Best chatter bait trailer for me was bio spawn exo swim
I had the same problem with the Berkley solutions fluoro. I broke off several times even just setting the hook. I switched to fluoroclear which worked pretty well for me.
The dark sleeper is one of my confidence baits especially smaller lakes and rivers. Definitely not a great weedless option but i think the fat body makes it different to similair paddletails. My most succes is to sight cast and pitch around laydowns. But can be a decent searchbait too...
Ok I found the Terminator Frog Video and I got one about 6 months ago and holy cow the Hooks are insane sharp so hopefully that was something that Rapala addressed after your review so truly thank you.
That terminator frog especially that color is the best frog I've fished and i do lots of frog. But i never thought about them hooks, gonna have to look into it.
That spider made me think about ultra realistic baits. I don't know what fish think different lures are but I have never had much luck with the one that looked ultra real to a human.
I laughed 👏🏼! I need to get some of those EWG ned rig hooks. Had the same issue with the chapo’s tail breaking off. Love the whopper plopper though, I got my Pb on it!
Debo, I purchased the Myagi after watching a video of you using it. Holy freakin' cow man. After a bunch of 1 pounders, that Myagi was hammering 2-4 pounders for the next 45 minutes. Better yet. they stand up to Texas Bass Abuse way better than any other swimbait I have in my tackle box. But what was odd, when they shut off, they were tired of it. Ain't that the way it goes though.
Tokyo rig is amazing! It’s a great alternative to Texas rigs and also it’s great to use in thick grass. I personally like to hook a brush hog on them or a craw.
Quantum Specialist Crawling Jack worked the best for me. I've got the biggest perch on it and i had pikes too, so it is versatile. The second best, were the spoons. The worst: any jig and top water.

Keep up the great work, Debo!

Same! Tackle nerds gotta stick together 😂👊
They just can't understand us!
That is funny
My man
Every time she buy makeup you buy a lure doesn’t, matter what price just buy something LOL
Best: Ned rig with 2.75” TRD finesse worm
Worst: everything I’ve tried to dropshot
Same
Hahahahah I'm glad it's not just me with the deop shot. I put a lot of time in with it this year and I'm a lot more comfortable. I really had to force myself to use it. I do think it has a time and place though.
Jason Spangler bro!!!!!! 😂 I struggle with the drop shot my self.
I throw a dropshot about twice a year only on deeper lakes and I catch dinks with it but when I try that ned rig i just get snagged every cast and go to my good ole shaky head worm
The Ned rig has been awesome for me in clear, shallow water. If you don't want to snag; throw a weedless EWG Ned head.
dude 30 fish in an hour and a half is killin it...
It was a crazy night after work!
Iv never caught that many fish In one trip and I consider myself decent fisherman so he is slaming it
Most I've ever caught (off the bank) is 21 in 2.5 hours. I bet 30 in 1.5 hours is insanely good.
I’m psyched to get two or three off the bank in two hours
Strike King bitsy bug with skinny dipper trailer saved me skunking out many times in 2019 👏🏼
Nice! I love the skinny dippers man!
I definitely agree with just about everything you had to say. Chatterbait and Ned have been my favorites the last 2 years.
Some of your “worst lures” I’m glad I didn’t buy because to be honest I never found them all that intriguing.
Great video brother! Keep cranking them vids out!

That's awesome to hear that you're back to fishing! Yeah, I only had one out of the bunch that worked. I was disappointed because they look awesome!
Really like the honest opinions in this video!!! Tokyo rig produced some good bites for me last spring, but not a whole lot since! Still can’t say for certain whether I like it or not but I’m gonna keep trying.
Yeah, I'm really intrigued by it. I'll test it more this year! Thanks for watching man 👊
Another great video brother. I was looking forward to this one. Always good to hear an honest opinion instead of a reviewer saying everything is great.
Just my experience with the lures. I agree, it's always fun to see how others do with stuff. Anglers can be so different in confidence techniques.

Yep, as you see reading through comments there is such a wide range of what works for folks. That's all part of the fun in finding what you like.

Nice Debo, I actually started using chatter baits after you did a video on them caught a ton of fish one of my favorite confidence baits for sure. Great video thanks for giving your honest opinions on all of these lures..
Awesome, glad you found some on the chatter!
Lovely video Debo I love these tipe off video's thanks for your help and advice 👍👊I had the same problem with the Tokyo I will stick to the Texas rig 😀
Yeah, hard for me to take the Tokyo over the regular old Texas rig! Thanks for watching 👊
Great u stick up fr US Bank anglers !! Ur right, some lures just don't work ! Lol 😎
Just saying how it was in my experience. Not saying the lures are bad, just didn't work in my specific scenarios.
I bought the Berkeley choppo on your recommendation and let me tell ya-Huge top water explosions! Great alternative to the pricey whopper plopper. I didn't either until I forced myself to work it this year. Definitely more confidence with it this year! Good luck man, hope you catch some biggins!
Agreed, the MB Dark sleeper is NOT even close to being weedless, BUT I still love them.
Yeah, I just need to put more time in on them. They look good but hard for me to swallow losing two at $8 each 😥

Yeah, I did have good luck on the black and blue!
you should take a trip to Michigan this summer to catch some giant smallies!
i can take you out on my boat

Chatterbait was the ticket for 2019. Plenty of new lures to try this year; jerkbait, large swimbaits, the Dark Sleeper (lol), shaky head and others. Just got back into fishing after a 16 year hiatus. Keep those awesome vids coming Debo!

I loved the buzz bait in 2019 definitely my confidence top water
That's a fun one for sure! I'm in love with any topwater really lol.
I like the end. Go practice foundational skills and get back to the basics when it’s a rough day.👍🏻 the pit boss Texas rigged was a good “if nothing is going right I can count on that bait” I want to get more confidence on chatterbaits next year hear to many good thing to not to!

Great video! I appreciate your honesty of what you did and didn't have success with. Keep up the great videos and good luck this year.

Debo, my favorites last year were the whopper plopper, a skinny dipper (which I don’t think get enough love), a joe’s fly in the black wooly worm, a reaction innovations flirt Texas rigged on a spinning rod and a googan baits drag n drop on a drop shot
Agreed, skinny dippers are straight up money!
Good stuff dude, good picks. Fav: chatterbait. Least fav (in 2019) swimbait!
The chatter is such a beast. What type of swimbaits?
Usually just 4 and 5 inch soft ones, I tried some z man stuff, as well as strike king. I'll get some on then this year though, I can feel it!
Good video. The only florocarbon I've like providing I used it once was pline tactical. Had no problem with it what so ever. Handmade Buzzbait Debo...It did wonders!! Just tried out the River2Sea S-Waver the other day, the third cast I caught a decent one.

Yeah, the TRD is just a flat fish catcher. Haha maybe sacrificing the dark sleepers to the fishing gods will bring us good luck 😂👊
Lovin the Bio Bait plastics, we killed Walleyes on Lake Erie with the Perch pattern. Looking forward to using them for Bass.
Nice! I saw those. I need to pick some up to try!
Yeah, from the bank it disjt work great for me. From a boat I could see it going a lot better!
Z-Man Project Z Weedless ChatterBait were an absolute hammer for me this year in the breaking bream color with a ktech swimbait as a trailer. Caught the 2 biggest largemouth of my life on them this past year
I gotta try some of those weedless chatters to see how they do!
Nice! I'll take frog feesh all day. Congratulations on the PB!
Chatterbaits are tied with TX rig as my go to rig. have beast coast miyagi and owner hooks in my cart now! I love paddle tails, but want to branch out a bit. Thanks Debo!
Those miyagis are money. Can't argue the TX Rig. That had caught me so many!
Texas rigged pit boss/baby brush hog and football head jigs for bass. Crappie/trout magnet for panfish 👍🎣 caught my PB largie in a zman chatterbait tho, white w a kietech as a trailer. Good stuff here, great content 💯
Yes! The pit boss is an oldie but still a goodie!
Just started watching your videos Debo, and I absolutely love them. Keep up the hard work! I look forward to your future vids my man!
Thanks man! Always love seeing new folks in the comments! Appreciate you watching 👊👊👊
Nice, I like setting a lure goal like that at the beginning of the year! Agreed, c'mon spring!
DEBO, the Tokyo Rig, Bro! Lol 😆 I with ya man, the Tokyo Rig looks great but no go for me too 👍 Love your videos man 👊
Yeah, the concept honestly does intrigue me...I gotta mess with it more!
Thanks DEBO! I’m on the Chatterbait bandwagon. Great for me last year and just fun to fish IMO. Worst for me was the drop shot but that’s just because of lack of experience with it and confidence. Here’s to 2020!
The chatterbait was definitely dominant for me this year. I hear ya with the drop shot...it's a love/hate relationship for me 😂
My PB came on that exact Terminator frog.
Hhahah yeah, I need to put more time in on that Tokyo rig. I like the idea of it, just struggled keeping it clean and free. Thanks for watching man!
I lost my first dark sleeper on the 2nd cast from the bank. I was so excited and that really put a damper on the day. I'm going to try them when creek fishing for smallies as I think they look like great sculpin imitations.
Yeah, I think you just have to be really careful with them!
Casting practice is always good.
Line= vicious fluorocarbon
Stick bait= bass pro stico
Kietech
Ned rig
Live target frog
Can't argue how consistent they are...definitely feesh catchers! Thanks for watching my man 👊
Rusted hooks generally mean the product was probably stored in a non-air conditioned warehouse for a long period of time. The problem with Ned rigs is that they have the highest percentage of gut hooked bass.
Yeah, rusty hooks suck. What? I've never had a single bass ever gut hooked on a ned? Those folks need to try braid to a leader 😂
God is good
Oklahoma's worst fishing gave you a shout out on his last video too💯 Debo's the truth✊
And I'd have to say the lure I didn't have any luck on was the swim jig.
Damn I never thought about that! Kinda like how I fish a square bill! I guess I just swam it because it's called a swim jig lol you the man Debo
Debo don't change a thing......the best !
Nice! I love those things. Hopefully you find some biggins!
Sends those Dark Sleepers my way!
Haha maybe I'll put them in a giveaway sometime soon!
Yeah, I hated being all paranoid about what the line was going to do. Love Berkley stuff but not that line. Hopefully they'll change the formula.
Once again missed it live but a great watch , love seeing people with different takes on different techniques tackle etc
I agree on the spider. Mine sat low in the water on the front and high on the back
Hey, Debo's My buddy was talking Carolina rigs. Shawn
Hey it’s been a while. Stopped watching fishing videos for a while but I’m back and getting geared up for the spring/summer
Better late than never! Thaks for the support man and good luck this spring!
You caught 30 fish in an hour after work...I don’t think I’ve caught 30 fish in my life 🤦🏻♂️
Hahah yes, it was a good night of fishing!
I just want to say that I appreciate your opinions and the explanations about how you arrived at your decisions. Empirical evidence is kind of your thing and I like it so I smashed SUBSCRIBE
Tokyo Rig is a major use for punching!! Also try it with two sinkers one down one up makes a cylinder. Creates a rounded side up catches less debris!
I heard that trick. I'll try it out!
Good stuff Debo. Keep the videos coming bud. Big fan.
Thanks man, I'll certainly try to 👊👊👊
Whopper Plopper, and texas rigged 4" Havoc pit boss! U already know mayne!! Cant wait to get into em again this year!!
Agreed man! We gotta get on a bunch sometime soon after the ice leaves. Spillways or something maybe?
SHAWN
@@DEBOSFishing I'm always down brother! I tried the causeway over the weekend but nothing... I think it's a lil early.
I caught my PB last year on a Spro frog. Also did well with wacky rigged worms. I had some success with drop shot using all kinds of plastics - worms, creatures and even keitech paddle tails. Worst of the year was everything else!!
Those are solid! However, I'll take anything on a frog 😂👊
Cant wait to try some beast coast miyagi, just ordered some from TW, all based on your recommendations man. Also got a few of the Dark Sleepers, as a Bank fisherman I am now worried, but hey who knows worth a shot in my neck of the woods
2019 traditional weightless T Rigged Senko or a Ned Rig were my 2 best, crushed Smallies with the Ned
Not Favorite was Frog... I know tried countless times landed topwater with Plopper but never a frog...
Nice! Let me know how you like the Miyagi! Don't be worried about the dark sleeper because of me. Just didn't work in my situations but you may crush on it! Good luck!
I practice every day casting and working bait love your vids wish you would do a comparison on different
Fun video brother. I like hearing other people’s opinions on baits.
I do as well. Always cool to see what other folks pick up!
I really like the rage tail for a trailer, and I know a few people who always have a few different chatterbait tied on because some days they won't touch the regular chatterbait but will hit the thunder cricket or others like it.
Yeah, those subtle differences could certainly do it.
you should try the berkley jester craw an amazing bait. i havent tried it but a jig im interested in trying is the missile jigs Ikes micro football. my best lure last year was the Ima pinjack 200 and a weightless finesse worm working it like a jerkbait.... 12 inch leader with a small swivel (works like a weight) works much better on an offset worm hook.
Yeah, the trick worm is such a versatile rig. That swivel helps against line twist too!
@@DEBOSFishing I also use a swivel on my drop shots to help with line twist.
Dark sleeper is not weedless lol. There for soft bottom and light gravel. Great on points in cold water. There a bottom contact specialist dragging it slow. Worked for me.
Awesome video debo definitely do those every year!!
Can certainly do these!👊
Totally agree on the megabass "weedless" swimbaits, far too expensive for what you get, plus you can replace them with many cheaper option that will catch the same amount of fish for cheaper.
Yeah, I think it may kill in certain situations. However, I had better luck with other options around here.
Great video
My best lure is a Frog(lunkerhunt combat) and worst lure all crankbaits(I cant get myself to use then when bank fishing)
Try the squarebill in the shallows on rocks. They bang off a bit better. Man...froggin is so dang fun!
My best lure last year was a neko rigged Zman Bang Stickz, uaing their neko shroomz weight and vmc weedless neko hook. Caught lots of bass 4-5 lbs, rarely missed bites.
Nice! The neko is something I need to show more. Had some good days on it!
I find the Tokyo rig really shines for me when fishing brush. Where I need to go 2+ ft into the pile. It worked very well for me. It is very use specific for me.
Hmmm...you think that would do better than the standard Texas rig in brush? I need to mess with it more for sure. Thanks for the feedback!
I bank fish 95% of the time and slayed fish last year with the dark sleeper. Cast and slow retrieve back. Did so well with it, it became my other go to confidence bait, along with a Texas rigged weightless stick bait. Best chatter bait trailer for me was bio spawn exo swim
That's funny, shows how different we can be as anglers. I should keep it away from chunk rock...it didn't do well there for me ☹
@@DEBOSFishing oh it will get stuck quick fast in a hurry in brush or rock...I fish it in grass usually or stumps
I had the same problem with the Berkley solutions fluoro. I broke off several times even just setting the hook. I switched to fluoroclear which worked pretty well for me.
I had the same issues with mine
That stinks, sounds like that was the experience with most. Hopefully they fix it up!
I totally agree with the lunkerhunt spider it's almost not in my arsenal too
Yeah, I'd rather just toss a frog 😂
Chatterbait fav for 2019 Rage Menace best trailer for it All Terrain Tackle Swim Jig with Keitech trailer 2nd fave
Love the chatter menace combo!
That spider made me think about ultra realistic baits. I don't know what fish think different lures are but I have never had much luck with the one that looked ultra real to a human.
Hmmm I have swimbaits that look pretty realistic and catch. The spider was just hard to work.
Rod review time? Maybe a reel review? Buyers guide for the upcoming season?? Please
I can try to do some of those. I got a lot to get caught up on!
I laughed 👏🏼! I need to get some of those EWG ned rig hooks. Had the same issue with the chapo’s tail breaking off. Love the whopper plopper though, I got my Pb on it!
Those EWG neds are so good. Yeah, that hard tail is the only downside. Still like the choppo though.
The most success with
the Tokyo rig I've experienced was dragging or slow reeling on hard bottoms with a small swimbait.
Hahahah nice! I was just talking to a buddy about that technique with a swimbait. I'll definitely put more time in with the Tokyo!
Hmmm, haven't heard of that one.
