I’m 77 and my drives range from about 180yds to, on the odd occasion (when I unknowingly)get something right, in excess of 200yds. After watching your video I had a look at my swing on my V1 app recordings and I DO NOT FOLLOW THROUGH. My lower body is stationary, my club head end its arc in a vertical position and so I now know what my aim should be thanks to this and the whole series of very informative videos and pdf’s. I’ll be working on your advice in the coming weeks and months. A big thank you.
Thank you for your comments @900sport. Sounds like you can make some improvements with your swing and increase your driver distance. We look forward to hearing of your progress. 🙏🙏
From a dark wet evening in Scotland I have to admire how simple your presentation was. No golf video should be more than 5 minutes as attention span diminishes around that time. Will be out tomorrow to practice your very simple moves. Weather permitting. Well done.
Your third tip is on the money. I’ll be 70 this year and while I don’t drive it 300 yards, I see 250 pretty regularly. When I look at my contemporaries, the issue is often not their lack of flexibility, it’s their lack of commitment to the shot. They’ve lost confidence, they are worried about mishits and looking foolish, so they shorten up and try to steer it instead of going after it. Counterproductive.
A lot of good points covered, see a lot of those problems on the course and range. I'm over 70, have always been quite flexible w decent weight shift and rotation but still can't get club head speed over 90. Best drives are still
Thank you for your comments @mrpriceisright. Speed training is definitely something to include in your routine, to drive the ball further. Other points to consider are vertical thrust, rotation energy, sequencing, core and strength training and arm speed. We look forward to hearing of your progress. Cheers
I will be trying those tips. I have set up a hitting area in the backyard so it will be easy to practice and to see what happens. I’m 70 and still drive pretty well but would love to get a few more yards.
I just found this video and watched, hoping for something new I could try to get my swing speed higher than low 90s that it typically is. Have tried everything you've suggested at one time or another, but sadly have not found anything that gets my driving distance to the 250 yard level as per the previous gentleman...
Thank you for your comment @buddhatbay Sorry to hear that you’re not achieving the distance off the tee that you would like. There might be some underlying technical or physical issues holding you back. We would love to have a look at your golf swing for analysis, if you’re accommodating. Please contact us at admin@aussiegolfpros.com Cheers Glen
Absolutely! In fact, many of the stretching exercises we incorporate in this video are Yoga based: Best STRETCHING EXERCISES For SENIOR GOLFERS ua-cam.com/video/8xlWDU6a-zs/v-deo.html
I find it sad that with all the great stuff on this video, some want to hone in on the 300 yards. I am 78 yrs old. I believe that if we're on a fairway that promoted roll out, and I really synced everything up, I could get to 300. Now that only happens in about 3 blue moons🤪
No he is telling us older players to get length im 75 and hit 220 yds my players in the four some are 10 years below. But the end is the short finish one chip one putt
Thanks @nojok2780. You’re spot on. Some of the guys on tour hit the ball over 400 yards but only occasionally. Enjoy those bombs 💣 when you hit them and strive to hit more of them!
I’d like to see that myself. The average drive on the PGA tour is down to 295y for 2024 after the last two years at 300. Does anyone think his really nice swing is generating the club speed for 300 yards?
I don't care how this guy gives these tips. The senior body just can't generate club head speed fast enough to hit it 300 yards. Maybe you can get 15 or 20 extra yards but 300 seems far fetched. You can't beat Father Time on the human body. Watch great old pros like Langer and Watson and Jerry Kelley. A lot of them aren't even 70 yet and they can't hit it 300. And they were and still are great pros.
Thank you for your comments Joe. Of course, many factors determine our potential clubhead speed, such as joint mobility, muscle and tendon flexibility and injuries. Jim is a rare individual at 71 years of age, who moves extremely well and generates wonderful clubhead speed. He plays to a 2 handicap and drives the golf ball extremely well. You are correct, if any senior golfer can hit the ball 15 to 20 yards further, then that is a great achievement!
I believe it. Watch Paul.Wilson.He's no spring chicken and he hits it over 300. Played with a few 65+ golfers who regularly drive it 250+. Way farther than I do and are less flexible, strong or athletic. But I hit a lot of fairways and have a pretty good short game. However it would be nice to hit more than 3-4 greens in regulation! On occasion when I hit 7-8 g.I.r. can shoot par. Maybe I should swing faster? Only carry my 7 iron. 1996 or so Cleveland TA-3 130 yards.

We look forward to hearing how you get on.

@ Went to the range today. Cannot believe how little weight shift I had Age 74. 5 iron 160. Utility wedge 95/105.
Well impressed
Thank you
Alex.
So glad we could help. Thank you for sharing. 🙏

You’re spot on Charles! Keep swinging freely!
Thank you for your comments.
A shorter swing is better for seniors because most cant turn that far.
I'm 78 years old, I'm going to work on my Follow through.👍
Great stuff!

Hey Glen and Steve,
Excellent video, guys. Great information and as always well explained and demonstrated.
Cheers
Joe
Much appreciated Joe! 🙏🙏👊
Thank you for some excellent, easy to follow tips.
Glad you enjoyed the video Alan. Thank you.

Good stuff Rich!
The weight shift helped me a lot, thank you.
That’s awesome! Thank you for sharing.
I'm definitely guilty of a short follow through and stopping. You're spot on when you say it's a commitment issue, too concerned about the outcome.
Thanks for your comments Robert. We certainly hope you can improve this with our strategies. We look forward to hearing of your progress. Cheers, Glen
You’re a champ, Glen. Thanks
Cheers Ken. Hope you’re well and flushing ‘em!
thanks fro great video, greetings from Ireland
Our pleasure! Great to hear from our viewers across the world! 🙏
This senior played for 5 decades and had a swing speed over 125 util age 60.
Jim is a solid 3 handicapper and has been playing golf for most of his adult life. He has never swung the driver at 125mph.

Very helpful video, thanks.
Glad you liked the video @gh50hill1. Thank you.
For balance, hitting balls with your feet together helps me.
Absolutely! 👍
How about tips on how to be more consistent and increase swing speed for someone at age 90?
Yoga or a lot of stretching also would help seniors!!

Glad we could help @pleiadesneptunes
Great tips!
Thanks Shaun!
look at "the easiest swing in golf" with Brian Sparks, i am a 75 year old golfer and following the regime it certainly improved my game!
Hi Tony
I knew Brian, lovely guy and a great golf coach! Keep doing what you’re doing!
Best

That’s great @tealing6660. Thanks for sharing.
I like the idea of a 70 years old with 300 yards drive. But like to see his swing on a Launch Monitor to be more believable.
Jim nearly drove that 18th green!
I’d like to see that myself. The average drive on the PGA tour is down to 295y for 2024 after the last two years at 300. Does anyone think his really nice swing is generating the club speed for 300 yards?
Absolutely!
For a tour player that averages 295 yards, how far do you think he can drive the ball?
I liked this video but the sound quality during most of the video needs to be checked.
Sorry to hear that @Hari.
On which device are you watching our videos? We’ll check it out.
Thank you.
@@AussieGolfPros I played it on a fairly new Lenovo Carbon X1 (Windows 11) and a new iPad Pro 13’.
@@AussieGolfPros At about the 0:52 sec., it only plays through the left channel.
🙏
Thank you. We’ll check that out.

Unfortunately this is true. We can do better!
No way that guy is sending the ball 300 yards.....fake news.
👏👍👏👍
Thank you Ariel
the guy's swing looks good but 300 yds?
Absolutely! He crushed it!

Sounds like you might be able to improve upon that with the principles we outline in the video. Thanks for sharing Nicholas.
Shoulder width is plenty……..
+6” by the end of the video
Yeah, feet snuck a little wider on that one.
If you ain't old, you don't know.
Age is a number!
Hope you’re flushing ‘em Donald!
Aint no one over 60 gonna drive it 280 let alone 300 yrds unless super flexable and strong with a tail wind of 30 mph. Those are the ONLY ways.
Saw this my own eyes, no tailwind! Cheers, Glen
You are always laughing, even when it hurts
🤣
