I’m off a 25, and watched this before my round yesterday. Unreal, easy to remember rules. Felt in control of my game, which is something I don’t usually feel. Thank you.
Simple, to the point, and totally makes sense. Terrific video, and great thinking. I started choking down on the club two years ago ( seeing Brooke Henderson doing it), and it’s amazing how solid it feels, in control, and very little distance lost - negligible compared to accuracy and control. Wish I could get outside now to practice your advice Alex…..but it’s -15C outside and 20 cm of snow..oh well April not too far off. 👍👍🇨🇦
Brilliant again Alex. I’ve adopted some of these in the last 12 months, the chipping one is gold. The 200 yarder makes sense, I’ll give it a try. Think you have really aced your game since the early days and are now the best tuber on golf. Cheers mate
Very good tips. Strongly agree with the 200 yard rule and the chipping. Missing the green, even if a close miss, from 200 yards out often winds up with poor lies in areas of the rough that get chewed up from frequent pitch shots. Not so sure on the punch shot rule but will think on that. Maybe modify for me as take an additional club and flight it down.
Some additional comments. Lag putting--it isn't a hole, it is a hottub. Just hit it in the hottub. Pitching--i always think tick lock, like a clock. Know your miss. Sometimes it can be your strength.
I for some reason always teed my ball low from when I started. Basically a quarter of the ball Maybe slightly lower. Works well for me. At the range I even practice hitting off the deck. With my 3 wood always off the deck.
I tried the tips today, the irons were amazing, I am not a great ball striker but just using the tips was a game changer. Thanks and keep the good videos coming
Alex I guess it's just me but I am around a 12-13 but I never use strokes on the course. I write down what I scored on a hole add them up at the end and that's what I shot. Which means I shot 84 - 85 most times. I have shot my age 3 times 78 twice 79 once. Gets easier every year LOL.
@ if you only hit it that far that bunker would still not be in play from your appropriate tees. You should be playing the front tees if you’re not a senior which I’m guessing you are.
@ All of the guys that I play with, except for one, are over 75. I'm 77. We always use the forward tees. It makes the game far more enjoyable, and that is the goal for us.
Tiger Woods uses a low tee height on his driver, ive tried it and it messes me up, makes me hit steep and makes a really spinny ball that slices or just goes nowhere, probably my poor gaming ability but for me a pink tee works better for me with driver.
Tiger admits that he started with a now sweeping swing because he started with hickory clubs. That’s why he’s comfortable with a lower tee height. Conventional thinking for weekend golfers is we need the added height to get the ball launch higher and with less backspin to get yardage. We also don’t have clubhead speeds that the PGA pros do.
Chief, I had the same issue, coming down steep, hitting fat, duffed slice etc., my 6 handicap friend gave me a drill to practice the driver off the deck and try to hit shallow ball take off. I hit around 50 balls and then moved to the shorter tee, worked wonder. I’m doing this every outing, before t-off 10 balls from the deck and then the low tee.
@ I am affraid I live in Sweden. No golf for a long time. I am longing for links golf or any golf for that matter. Southport and Ainsdale would be nice…
I find the way people who CAN play golf talk about golf to be hilarious. Fairway finder?! What is that? All this is predicated on the assumption that the golfer has any consistency at all. Lay up short of a 200-yard hazard on par-4. Now THAT guarantees a double-bogey. BTW, I'm off 20.
Do you guys all send out a memo in the morning or something? It's getting addictive to use the line this gets addictive. I've seen at least 2 other scammer golf tubers using it again this week.
*Lets move a set of tee’s back easily this year…here’s how I would do it*
Stop your cart at the back tees.

Love the way you take the time to show taking care of the golf course. Too many idiots do nothing and then complain about the condition of the course.
Thank you RW - I hope that the tips help you

See you tomorrow 🙌🏼
Thanks for the tips!
No problem! thank you
Great tips I have to try that choke down iron shot on my next round .👍🏽
Let me know how you get on! 🙌🏼
Thanks Alex. Very good tips.
4:48. Do you club up for the punch shot?
hello frank great questions - yes sometimes i do if its into the wind for sure

Wise words Alex
Bloody brilliant! So simple and and so sound!
Thank you Julian
Great very interesting
Glad you think so!

Know your miss. Sometimes it can be your strength.
Great suggestion. Everyone should also take this into account
Can’t wait for the 2025 outdoor season to start again and try these tips on the golf course. Thanks Alex.
How long do you have to wait?
@@AlexElliottGolf Golf courses will start reopening in this part of Canada (Okanagan, BC) mid-March. In the meantime, it is simulator practice.
BTW great when you show what you would do on the course with yardage
appreciate it 👊🏻

Love that you have a method Tom!

Great to hear!
Alex do you think the Takomo 101 irons would be an upgrade from my current iron set which is Callaway Big Bertha OS irons
Hi mark! I am
Just about to text them over on @howgoodgolf
I’ll have to let you know on that
Good advice Alex and mainly common sense, leave the ego in the changing room .
exactly john
You and @golfsidekick should do a video on course management together
They are two of the best content creators on that subject. I'd love to see that.

That’s amazing! Great work on that. Great achievement
What about the narrow stance with your left foot turned out when you hit a drive?
For sure i would look at that lead foot turned out as a great way to get better hip turn
Did you say laying up if there’s trouble 220 yards? How is that even in play with driver?
Hey, I resemble that remark. Once or twice a year, if I have a 35 to 50mph wind behind me, I might hit my driver that far. Sadly, I am not kidding.
I hit my driver max 200 yards in summer, I can’t reach the trouble, very few lost balls, usually playing bogie golf.

@@ETBob51 that was my guess. If a bunker is that far on a tee shot it wouldn’t be in play from the forward tees.

For sure!!! You somtimes have to use what’s best for you and if you know the pink tee works use it Shaun!

How can you go back a set of tees, which are fixed and your playing partners and you are playing off the same tees.
We have yellow and white tees here at my course and when you get better you love back to the whites. I hope that the tip helps
“Getting addictive” seems to be the new “Seems like cheating”! This clickbate nonsense is getting tiresome, irrespective of the value of the content.
I hope it helps
Observation that brings no relevant information. You know this, you don't need people to know you know it. But I agree with you.
@@zinkem2 We know that you know that you are talking about yourself, but never mind, go back to sleep!
Go advice. Minimize the errors by playing in front of the flag all the way to the hole.
Thank you! I hope it helps
Rule no1 of putting never leave it short
If I cut 6 shots I would break par now and then. That would be nice.
maybe we can work together to get that to happen

appreciate it
