I'm an art student at Sinatra and I really suggest applying! The building is beautiful and everyone is very warm and welcoming. The performances I've seen were great and our teachers teach quite well. Don't overlook Sinatra, it really is a great experience.
I will graduate from Laguardia piano master in 2019. Laguardia is great and I love it. Just have confidence and be prepaired for auditions. I am also in Juilliard as an organist.
I AM A GRADUATE OF THE "CELIA CRUZ BRONX HIGH SCHOOL OF MUSIC" ... THIS SCHOOL HAS MADE A HUGE IMPACT ON ME AND WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART. THE ACADEMICS AS WELL AS THE MUSIC REALLY INCREASED MY KNOWLEDGE AND DISCIPLINE. CELIA CRUZ IS ONE OF THE BEST MUSIC SCHOOLS OUT IN NYC. I DON'T KNOW WHY PEOPLE OVERLOOK THE BRONX.
Can someone help me out with Laguardia?? I'm auditioning for dance but i don't do ballet and I'm auditioning for drama I'm not a pro actor but I love doing them both is there any great tips??
Have a piece of music prepared to play and also be prepared to write a lot when you get there. The audition is a little nervewrackig but the worst part is waiting for your application notice if you got in or not. I got in for insturmental music for trumpet.
I go to LaGuardia for instrumental music. I got in for art and instrumental music. 18,000 kids apply to the school and 500 get in. The ones who don't go to talent unlimited, ppas, and fashion industries.
TALENT UNLIMITED HIGH SCHOOL- has the disadvantage of its facility, but provides a warm and intimate learning environment that really gives the students a one-on-one relationship with the teachers (in both the arts and academics classes).
+ChickenNoodle Soup thank you so much for the advice! Well from last year, ( since it was literally my first time performing in front of strangers, I cried in front of the judges and it was so freaking embarrassing and my grades weren't that good) but from last year to now I felt like I've grown so much since just now I finished doing a show and I was one of the leading rolls! So yeahhh... my grades right now are in the high 80's to a 93 (so hopefully that's good) and yeah hopefully I'll do great later on in the school year :)
basically, we had this writing class and we had to talk about our thoughts and emotions and when we did that, the administrators fixed some things up and turned what my class wrote into a play and we had to preform it.
i wish i didn't live in the uk, we don't really have things like this, it'd be a dream for me to go a performing arts school in nyc, it's not cheap though
Charlotte D most performing art high schools in nyc are public so they are free to go to without tuition. I just did my audition for Frank Sinatra school of the arts today🙃I hope I get it 😊I auditioned for the vocal studio 🤞🏽🤞🏽
@@sircookieknight8566 You audition when you're in the 8th grade usually. And transfer students during their freshman year. So as long as you're in 8th-9th grade you can apply.
Ohh cuz I have a 74 in Math,88 in Sci and 82 in S.S but i Have 31 latenesses ( I know , my latenesses are bad , just bear with me here :D) and 1 absence so I know that my chances of getting in is extremely slim :'(
@@bradleyd1533 Got into another High School without auditioning. Found out "Acting" wasn't for me and switched my major to art. Glad it all happened the way it did.
