My average on my report card are 90s (Im not sure if you need good grades to get in) I just have a couple of questions if you dont mind: Are they still accepting people at the moment? And when is the best time that I should submit my art portfolio? How are the classes like? (Is the work that they give you more on the easier side or do you have to work harder to get work completed?) Hi Thankyou so much for watching! When your in 8th grade is when you start auditioning for the high schools and applying to high schools not 7th grade so you have time:) currently though they are not accepting auditions since they finished as well as callbacks and people already found out if they made it or not, I’m not a art major so I can’t speak on behalf of like what type of work they get in their classes per say but they have a bunch of different type of arts classes and the art majors are incredible talented. I personally wouldn’t say the classes are hard but there challenging which is good you want to be challenged.. this is definitely a school to be in if this is what you want to do for your career because you are provided many amazing opportunities and auditions within the school and the training here is outstanding!! Originally like I said in the video, the school hours ALWAYS used to be from first period starting at 8am to last period ( 10th period ) ending at 4:10 and that was the day ( if you were in clubs or rehearsals that was after school. But this year for some reason they changed that lol and I’m assuming it’s going to stay like this for the future as well, first period starts 8:05 and last period ends 3:35 I hoped I helped or answered your questions! Do you have to audition for dance because I saw on their website that freshmans don’t have to have a lot of experience and they’ll teach you first as a beginner
@@Ms.CleanGirl hi yes! You have to audition for any major. Although all the students may be on somewhat different levels when they first arrive at LaGuardia, since it is LaGuardia you should already have a good foundation at least of dance and technique:)

@@Luke-ws5ou Hi Luke, If your already in Highschool, LaGuardia only accepts transferring freshman and Sophomore ( underclassmen ) once your a upperclassman you can’t transfer. And whether your a transfer or not the audition process is still the same. Audition details are on the LaGuardia website under Auditions. When I auditions I auditioned for 3 majors, so I believe you can auditions for as many majors or instruments as you like. More of those specific details should be on the website but getting into LaGuardia wise if your already in Highschool, you must be either a freshman or sophomore to be able to transfer:)

So I’m pretty sure you have a chance still:) I would just make sure where ever you do go for freshman year you stay on top of you classes still and prepare for your audition so when audition time comes your ready!
@@gabriellaagosto hey , sorry , just a follow up question , it says i need a 65 or above in the 4 core subjects and when i was in 8th grade i took algebra and i failed with like a 58 , but then i also took regular math , and in that i had like a 70 , are they going to look at the regular math grade or the algebra grade ?
@@amievenparis hi I’m not quite sure what you mean by regular math? Like you took algebra and another math class? I believe they will look at your algebra, but if your going to another Highschool freshman year then if you transfer your sophomore year to lag I believe they will probably check your freshman year grades so whatever classes you had taken your freshman year:) but for an exact answer I would email the admissions office ( email is on the lag website ) under “who to contact”

Hi Thankyou so much for watching, from being at lag for almost 3 years now I can tell you the majority of what they look for is based from your audition not your grades. Even if your really talented you know you don’t want to be failing your classes but I would say if your passing all your classes and have like a 75 atleast in each class ( you can find the actual grades they look for on the website though for lag ) as long as your passing and you have what they consider a good audition then your good, you definitely don’t have to be a straight A student. This is a performing arts Highschool…. Trust me, not everyone here is academically smart ( not trying to shade anyone lol ) but most people here really just care about their major and yk doing what they love which is music/ art / dance etc. But i hope that answers your question :)
I'm a musician and have just finished my sophmore year of highschool but I was wondering if I could have any chance at transferring in the middle of my junior year or just before my senior year? I did a lot of research to try to see if they would allow this and who I could contact/email, but I couldn't find anything
