Put a paper ball in your sleeve and punch it out to have a real buster shot!
I had a blue coat that was big enough on me to push the sleeves out over my hand, and the ends of the sleeves made a similar shape to the X-buster. I loved that coat man.

The best game of my childhood. I never could beat sigma. I was about 8 and remember pouring hours into trying to beat him. I gave up but watching this makes me want to try again.

X was such a great game. Challenging, but forgiving. It was the first Mega Man game I really played. I tried some of the originals years later; couldn't do it.
I still remember when I got this game for my birthday. Mom screwed up and didn't hide it when it was being rung up.

The fire Ryu mentioned is probably Mega Man 7 on Slash Man's stage. Except it's not on the boss arena, it's on a regular forest area before the boss.
Storm eagle is basically limited firepower boom boom fight, but you can't stomp its head
Played Megaman 3 on my NES back in the day, bought this one on my ipad a couple of years ago, still haven't gotten close to finishing it. But to be fair, on-screen controls are shit, you need a controller or you're sitting there mashing the screen in the wrong area.
Gotta say watching Ryu face that sub over and over is the second best part of this vid, right after walking a away from the helm upgrade. Close second though.

"Hi, I'm Dr. Light. I'm a good friend of Dr. Wily. Dr. Wily went rogue and now I gotta keep up appearances, that I'm still a good guy myself. Therefor I must seem to be helping Mega Man out, but I don't really want to help him. That's why instead of kitting him out to max power just here and now, I rather try to hide all the upgrades in very hard to get places, so it just seems like a "challenge", but in reality, I just did it so he wouldn't find them and Wily would win."
The claw grip works best but I like to use a mix of claw and double tapping forward. It just depends on the scenario. If you want a good 100% speedrun including the hidden weapon, check out my speedrun of it. I do it live so I explain where everything is, all the secrets, heart containers, boss strats, etc. I even do the whole run without using wepons!

If you like megaman X series you should try the ZX ones. They are great as well. same for the Zero games.
Stages holding a heart container - All
Stages Holding a sub tank - Storm Eagle, Spark Mandrill, Flame Mammoth and Armored Armadillo.
Stages holding an upgrade - Storm Eagle, Chill Penguin, Flame Mammoth and Sting Chameleon. The buster upgrade found in Flame Mammoth's stage is not necessary as you will obtain Zero's buster if you don't collect it.
Zero will change what he says depending on whether you have the arm upgrade or not!
You didn't get the Ryu (street fighter) uppercut??? Makes the final boss fights cake, one hit kills
I’m screaming at the screen trying to tell Ryu of secrets...he finds it later on. Awesome video and awesome dude as always
He does have one other weakness if you can't Hadouken him, and that weakness is Rolling Shield. It is very difficult to hit him with it though, as you still need to hit his head! Also to power up, full charge the Rolling Shield, and cling to the wall, and let it run into you!

I remember the game Crystalis being really hard when I was a kid. Would love to see you tackle that NES gem
iirc, X age is... complicated. His body is modeled after a mid-late teen (16-18... ish). He was trapped inside a programming pod for... a 100 year; but his psychological maturity was programmed to be a 30 yrs old. So... 16, 30, 100... take your pick.
No matter how many times I beat this game, it's always fun to play again. It's right up there with a link to the past IMO
X is over 60 years old at X1 start (he spent most of those years in VR though). His build has him late teens to mid 20s

I must leave a like in this video, this is literally my favorite childhood game!!!! I had to finish the game in one go cuz I didn't know how to save, and turns out those end stage numbers were the save code xD
Sure I played this a bunch as a kid so the nostalgia factor may shade my opinion, but with the detailed sci-fi visuals, the sweet dash and wall jumps and kickass music tracks this game was a master piece of it's time.

It's just me or in spyder boss fight the boss fight theme it's a little bit similar to riddley boss fight theme from super metroid?, Sounds like a remix from that 🤔

Just to inform that you chose the incorrect boss, Chill Pinguin isn't the first he is the third. I can see that you are having a lot of problems fighting Chill Pinguin. And the correct weapon is Fire Wave, but now you chose the correct boss, Storm Eagle is the first one. The correct weapon is Sting Shot, another incorrect boss. Spark Mandril isn't the third he is the fourth. Since you got Shotgun Ice then you won't have any problems. Why in the world aren't you using Shotgun Ice on him and instead using the buster? For me that is a completely waste of time. So is very clear that you never played this game before. If you used Shotgun Ice from the start you won't have to be jumping all over the place. Another incorrect boss Armored Armadillo isn't the fourth he is the fifth. Since you got Spark Shock, and if you actually use the right weapon this time. Right now i have to laugh at you because is very funny. Is very clear to see that is impossible to beat Armadillo with only the buster. And yet you keep attacking with buster, can't you see every time. He blocks your attack and repels back at you? Is clear that you never played this game next time, i really recommend you doing some research before playing. Actually Spark Shock is the correct weapon but you need to hit him before he blocks.
One thing I love about this game, is that as you beat stages you change other stages! Beating Storm Eagle before Spark Mandrill darkens his stage! Defeating Chill Penguin before Flame Mammoth will remove the lava. I am not exactly sure who you beat, but I believe it is Launch Octopus and Sting Chameleon's stage will be filled with water!
The layout I mentioned in a previous post, Does not 100% follow a weakness plan. The order if you followed weaknesses and starting with Chill, would be Chill, Spark, Armored, Launch, Boomer, Sting, Storm, Flame. With Chill weak against Flame Mammoth.
30:30 you got unlucky with the block. Spark Mandrill's armor is lost. Another tip, is if you hit Launch Octopus with a few boomerangs, you will chop off his whirlpool tentacles!

8:47 When Ryu mentions he thinks he forgot or missed something, I wanted to say you couldn't have missed an E-tank cause there are no E-tanks in X. Just Sub tanks, and then I was thinking you didn't miss anything as you didn't have the weapon from Flame Mammoth.
@ryukahr: A good layout is Chill, Storm, Flame, Spark, Armored, Launch, Boomer, Sting. However, You will need to go back into some stages to get missed items! Keep in mind any stage can be beaten, and in any order, but it can be more difficult.
For the Heart container in Chill, you need Flame Mammoth's Weapon. To get the Heart Container in Boomer Kuwanger's Stage, you will either need to use the Ice Sled properly, or use Boomers Kuwanger's weapon to collect it. In Armored Armadillo's stage, if you collect the Sub Tank, you will need to defeat the armored Dozer (My name for it, not sure the actual name), quickly, or you will miss out on the heart tank. The weapon for Flame Mammoth helps here too!

Good tips, but a couple things I'd like to point out:
a) You can get Boomer Kuwanger's heart container with just the dash upgrade, but it's close to pixel-perfect,
b) The armored dozer that has the sub-tank behind it in Armored Armadillo's stage is not the same one as the one that has the heart in front of it, and
c) You can get in front of the latter armored dozer if you fall as far to the right as possible, allowing you to retrieve that heart container without destroying it.
The boss order you suggested is the one I always do, so I second it.
@@useyourshoe While you are correct with (B) It does have two health capsules which can be useful to fill the newly acquired Sub Tank if you are in full health!
(C) I am aware about getting ahead of it, but not everyone wants to risk it, I do, but some people fail as they let go of the button a bit shy.
As for (A) I have never been able to complete the dash jump for the heart container, which is why I usually use the ice sled.

Technically, although having a body similar to MegaMan (approx. 18-22years old), like Aang from Avatar, it took around 100 years of testing before he was woken up. Technically he is over a century old. Unlike his predecessor, however, X WAS intentionally designed to be a fighting robot, but to respect and protect humanity.

Capcom didn't want to have the Easter egg/secret ultimate weapon easy to find.
Only one boss is immune to the hadouken and that is because he is immune to everything but overcharged buster (with one exception). Face nose is effectively immune since you cannot fire it midair. Edit the tank would be another
The first time I played this game I had no idea of the order. My first level was Launch Octopus and it kicked my ass.
I haven't played this game in 14 years but I still know everything about it because my brothers and I had beaten it so many times, yet we never got the Hoboken secret, I only found out about that 3 years ago. I don't think I ever personally beat the final boss.
Ryu you seem to forget that some powers are super effective against multiple bosses, or some bosses have multiple weaknesses.

Please Capcom give us Megaman X9, I've been waiting for half of my life for this sequel. You gave us Megaman 11 Now please give us X9. This is my favourite videogame series.

Yo I dunno if this is gonna be a new series, but after the DKC playthrough I am so stoked for the future. Megaman X is the game I've played the beginning several levels more than any other game - I absolutely love it.

Stupid question but how does he hold the controller during this playthrough? He said he didn't do claw grip but was able to press three buttons simultaneously. Never owned a super nintendo and am super curious.
@Ryukar hey Ryu, in the final Sigma Tower super charge the Rolling shield and the little larva enemies will die on contact with the shield. Meaning you just need to keep X right next to the hole
Yes, Mega man 1 is both extraordinarily hard and one of the most annoying of the series. For an extra challenge, beat yellow devil without using the pause glitch; it can be done the intended way.
Is the el gato dropping signal normal? Cause that doesn't seem like a thing that should be normal. Consider this my roast in lieu of saying anything about storm eagle's stage. Have a magnificent day Ryu.

First Megaman Game where I legit can do a no dmg run with few retry in Sigma Palace 2.
I almost forget Storm Eagle is very easy in the original compare to the PSP remake.
I would recommend switching the controls before starting the game to make your Dash either R or L, that way you don't have some how hold 1 face button, and hit two face buttons at the same time.
