HQ Season Four Finale of TV Series Andromeda. I still do not know who the Soprano is. She has a beautiful Voice. If any one knows her name, I would be very grateful.
I love what this show was in the beginning, and I mourn what it became. After season 2, they switch writers, and in-universe consistency goes out the window. Even with all the flaws, it's special. I wish this had been the end of the show. It would have been so much better than what we got. Sad, but fulfilling.

The commonwealth as it was newly created had its flaw's and this shows(alongside it being corupt AF, most people who went into the new commonwealth had NO CLUE of civilisation or this large an alliance(first try democracy germany was equaly a failure, they didnt know how to and what it was). Tyr made his move OBVIOUSLY because of it, wich in turn COULD HAVE prevented any big war ever again given then the nizeans and the commonwealth would be allies once more. The extraterestical invaders where a nice touch to it too and the magok as final foe where perfect. The ONLY THING not EXPLAINED AT ALL was the 3 person to lift hammer. It was there as an adventure RPG sidestory, nothing more. B5 would have at least made it be important later, andromeda did forget about it. Season 5 answered SOME unspoken questions about all of the chars too, so it had its place. People crying about it are the same that made Enterprise be canceled prior to earth-Romulan war, wich years later did bite us HARD with the shit they pulled with discovery and picard...
it was great show but after season 3 developer was pushed away who created show Robert Hewitt Wolfe a she had other plans, to involve everyone and wanted to make show darker with big war against mag and wanted to evolve everyone, but network wanted to make cpt Dylan hunt good and then after season 3 production company went broke and for season 5 actors had to take pay cut and andromeda actress got pregnant so that also complicated things as well, but s5 was poor. If Robert stayed I bet it would stay great. I wish some othe r network would return this show it would be great, ending wasn't really ending at all.
@@DragoMusivini EFC is not a bad show and I liked it until the last season when nothing made any sense anymore and felt like they were just dragging and beating that poor old dead horse as far as they could go with space vampires and never-ending flashback scenes. If it weren't for all the filler episodes and the entire last season, they could've wrapped it up in three seasons instead of dragging it out to five.
for me the first place is taken by story of the survivors from Cyrannus system who came aboard their space arks some 200000 years ago and found a new home in our solar system

Season 5 ended it just as I had to leave my home. I lost my home like how Captain Dylan Hunt lost everything as well. I'm still scarred from that loss.

And that last scene at the end of season four where she says goodbye to Andromeda, well let's just say I don't often cry at tv shows but oh my god that scene was sad. I feel a little stupid thinking I was the only one who appreciated this moment and music. I didn't think I would find it. I'm astonished I found it. Not complaining.
Ahh.. Andromeda. First three seasons were epic, fourth one was decent.. but the fifth one was barely watchable. They just lost all of the interesting plots, seemingly discarded lose ends (at least at first, they kind of dropped the ball by starting from scratch wich made you lose the motivation of watching) and exchanged a tantalizing saga on an intergalactic scale for something much less grand. And its such a shame too, cause the end of the fourth season with the glimpse of a duplicate Dylan and a story which bordered on spilling over into an existential framework tricked us into thinking that we really were going places; we were gonna see unimaginable things and experience unbelievable events which would challenge our very existance and perception of life as we know it. And we felt it would tie up nicely with the lose ends as well; the final season would give us all the answers, everything we had previously experienced but in a so much more fantastic way. Well, being stuck in one solar system with barely anything to do or experiencing anything remotely connected to the previous plot of rebuilding a galactic society was hardly what I had in mind. It was just so uninspired and the explanations felt more like the main characters guessing than anything else. And the end of the show? Anti-climactic would be an understatement.
Couldn't have said it better myself. I just finished watching the last season, and I feel very disappointed. So many great ideas early in the show, and then...
Exactly.. the only episode in season 5 that had me even remotely interested was the one where Hohne comes back and we get to see what happened to him when he fell into the tesseract; cause it at least had a connection to the earlier episodes. Everything else felt like a collection of stand-alone sundaymorning matinés.
I like the universe the series is based in; however, it seemed like they were running out of ideas for episodes. . . So many flashbacks! The Suns from Andromeda look very similar to the Avatars from Avatar. (After the crew forget to apply the anti-grav part to the nova bombs, seeing as we know the planet ship can only barely survive a nova bomb, it could not have just deflected them.) As Andromeda hurdles toward the planet-ship and trance in a massive explosion of glittering butter destroys their greatest enemy in one go, I was left thinking. I thought, why didn't trance or one of the other stars just fly into the planet ship and destroy it? Losing or injuring a single sun is nothing compared to the trillions of lives that were lost. IF they have issues moving through space on their own then why not group together, steal a ship and then go on a suicide mission. If enough of them were on board it wouldn't matter how far away they were when their ship was destroyed by the planet ship, they would all just explode, mission complete. SPOILERS Also I would like to point out that the exact place of seefra, being in and moving through space, would not matter. Why would the Vederans, as advanced as they are, spend all this effort to build giant brick walls to stop a sun, when anywhere in space could be called home. Unless being able to see the future, the Vederans knew that Trance would need more butter because she misplaced it back at the other side of the portal and that she would need a portal to their system in the first place. If the story had said, Trance was starving to death because she exploded and needed extra juice from the fake suns to survive, that would have made more sense. Instead of just consuming the fake suns and killing everyone there she would have to wait, growing weaker and insane, for her sun to take the fake sun's places. If there is to be a confrontation with evil suns, do not make them all look like Trance (Mr. Anderson), individuality is an attractive quality. When Dylan and Trance go to marble cloud land, am I the only one here who thought of Narnia, when the mice were going to cut off their tails because their leader lost his. Also, if any of the invading suns wanted to destroy the ship, they could always just: EMP the ship for capture later after they win, attack with everyone and not just one infiltrator, or just simply eat the ship; the atomic putty would not fight back and they could save their molecular arrangement and reassemble them later if they wanted. If Dylan kills a sun with his force lance, would it not explode? That energy does not just go poof away, one of those melted the world ship.
Some of this was due to a writer shift. There's an apocryphal 'script' that sort of reveals where the original writers had been planning to take the plot before things got all mucked up, and the ending it shows does a much better job tying all the loose ends together. A lot of people try to say Sorbo's character was basically an ass. Having watched all the episodes he really wasn't an ass. So many other characters in films and series who are worse, but sure lets pick on Sorbo's character.
This show went downhill over time, I love the first few seasons but I just quit after this moment, I've tried watching the last season a couple of times but just can't, it had jumped the shark and there's no coming back from it. What was a show about a normal person out of time and rebuilding civilization because about literal space hercules, the earlier seasons felt way more grounded and meaningful, as it progressed it lost that. I still love the show, it's probably my 6th or 7th favourite scifi franchise (doctor who, star wars, star trek, firefly, stargate, battlestar galactica and farscape beat it, and if my friend is right in counting it as scifi buffy) but it is sad how far it dropped in quality over the years.
Jerrod Moore Actually Sorbo had a massive argument with the writers about deifying Dylan in season 5 as a Paradine, he disagreed with it wholeheartedly :)
+DuracellEnergizer Oh tell me about it. I didn't like Dylan's character. He seemed too heroic and too god like. It really did seem like he was the only one on board who mattered and that Beka and Harper and the others were just there as side characters. I think if they had given the others more story and not made Dylan out to be something he wasn't then the series as a whole would have been stronger.
Pretty obvious from watching this scene that Season 4 was meant to end the series. Trance repeatedly told the crew that nothing would be the same, but Season 5 ends with them all back on Andromeda and back at their positions. Having said that, this is a beautiful, albeit enigmatic scene. The woman's "voice" that Dylan hears in this clip speaks of him having returned "home" and yet he doesn't actually admit to being "home" until the Series Finale at the end of Season 5. Oh well! :)
Actually no, it was always meant to have six or seven seasons with season five being a bridge. The production company going up changed those plans, along with their other meddling
I love Andromeda tv show it was the best sifi show ut was my first time watching a sifi show I will miss Andromeda so much thanks to Kevin who played Dylan hunt for making Andromeda my first time watching a sifi show the channel pick has put on as a replacement for Andromeda relic hunter and relic hunter is watchable but it is not as good as Andromeda. Ok, hear me out... A new spinoff series that starts right after the end of season 4 and completely ignores season 5... LIKE. IT. NEVER. REALLY. HAPPENED.
The only explanation that makes sense here is that like Trance, his newfound powers let him switch places with another Dylan to try beating the Abyss one more time in an arena that the Vedrans had spent 300 years crafting without the Commonwealth. That was the real mission and why Tarn Vedra was sealed off because the old and new Commonwealth were always going to fail against the Abyss and the Nebula.
That's not what happened... *SPOILERS* Trance goes supernova to destroy the worldship and transports all the crew to the Seefra system, albeit at different times.
the issue with this show was that developer who created the show was pushed to leave this project after 3 season as he had other ideas to include them all in everything and big war with megga and niz but producer and network had other ideas and they wanted to make Dylan a god, which was pathetic and season 4 was different from the beginning and for season 5 as network went broke even actors had to take pay cut, but really this show finished complicated and if developer stayed it could be much better.
Series..games...books..life itself..anytime annything can be used to to gain wealth ..so will some one some how some were..turn it into dung by the end ,just to cram out a extra few slices they can charge people for...
Andromeda threw up a lot of good ideas and plotlines throughout its run, but then never developed them; they just vanished. One thing I could never understand either was why they abandoned the opening theme by Rush used in the first series, for the turgid dirge used thereafter! I also thought that it became far too much of the Dylan Hunt show.
That opening theme was incredible. Agreed on the sentiment. The series started strong but drifted away very quickly. Amazing that it had a 5 seasons run after all.

In Star Trek, humans are more or less the ruling class among few equals (Andorrians, Tellarites and Vulcans), but in Andromeda, humans belong to a species that is considered backwater and third-world. Its kind of refreshing in a way, even if it is annoying as well. ^^ I do get your point and I agree; for representatives of a civilization that prides itself on its moral values, it sure had an apathetic view of Earth. Like "What, you want us to save this place? .. This planet.. way out there!? .. Look kid, I got litterally thousands of planets I have to secure, Earth just aint worth it. Soz."
What was that hallway and meeting himself supposed to symbolize? I know he went through the route of ages and ends up on tar vedra where season 5 takes place. I know he's half heavy worlder and half vedra and is paradine and is Trance's protector .
patrick smith IDK? I've wondered that too. I've always assumed he's meeting his "other self" the Paradine component. The immortal side that knows more of the universe. And when he walks to him as if to pass, but then smiles, turns back and walks away, it's meant to symbolise Dylan's journey isn't over yet. Or something like that. Just a thought anyway??

The moment when he actually goes back to this point in time was shown in one of the season 5 episodes; can't remember which one exactly cause it's been ages since I saw this show, but from interviews made with among others Robert Hewitt Wolfe, it was supposed to symbolize that he at that (future) point had restored his confidence in both himself as a person and being a paradine, and by seeing his past confused version, it was to show how far he had come; a personal growth-thing.

This scene didn't make much sense when considering the following season. Why are there 2 Dylans? Are they both the same person from different timelines? It almost seems like one of these Dylans isn't the real deal. It would've made for an interesting arc if he had been replaced by a doppelganger, and the crew had to not only deal with all their personal shit, but figure out that their leader wasnt the same guy, and free the real Dylan so they could continue fighting the good fight and all that.

I never completed Season 4. Since I flipping HATED it.. You could really feel that it was NOT Gen Roddenberry whom had written it BUT his son.. Roddenberry would never have pulled that crap with Dylan suddenly being half vedren( Or how you spell it) Specially since we all the way back in season flipping 1 had seen how they actually looked AND been told that it was still THERE!! And then suddenly in Season 4 its all changed... Riiiiight!!!

I am also with you first 3 seasons were great and then come season 4 which was still ok, but after season 4 production company big debt was growing and even actors took pay cut for season 5 and that it will be different season as they have less budget. There was big plans for season 5 and season 6 with big war with mega, but they had to cancel he show and mutant x as well. There was talking a that time that other networks wanted to take over, but never happened. I loved this show but last season was just boring at some pub.

Well, being stuck in one solar system with barely anything to do or experiencing anything remotely connected to the previous plot of rebuilding a galactic society was hardly what I had in mind. It was just so uninspired and the explanations felt more like the main characters guessing than anything else.
And the end of the show? Anti-climactic would be an understatement.
Couldn't have said it better myself. I just finished watching the last season, and I feel very disappointed. So many great ideas early in the show, and then...
Exactly.. the only episode in season 5 that had me even remotely interested was the one where Hohne comes back and we get to see what happened to him when he fell into the tesseract; cause it at least had a connection to the earlier episodes. Everything else felt like a collection of stand-alone sundaymorning matinés.
I like the universe the series is based in; however, it seemed like they were running out of ideas for episodes. . . So many flashbacks! The Suns from Andromeda look very similar to the Avatars from Avatar.
(After the crew forget to apply the anti-grav part to the nova bombs, seeing as we know the planet ship can only barely survive a nova bomb, it could not have just deflected them.) As Andromeda hurdles toward the planet-ship and trance in a massive explosion of glittering butter destroys their greatest enemy in one go, I was left thinking. I thought, why didn't trance or one of the other stars just fly into the planet ship and destroy it? Losing or injuring a single sun is nothing compared to the trillions of lives that were lost. IF they have issues moving through space on their own then why not group together, steal a ship and then go on a suicide mission. If enough of them were on board it wouldn't matter how far away they were when their ship was destroyed by the planet ship, they would all just explode, mission complete.
SPOILERS Also I would like to point out that the exact place of seefra, being in and moving through space, would not matter. Why would the Vederans, as advanced as they are, spend all this effort to build giant brick walls to stop a sun, when anywhere in space could be called home. Unless being able to see the future, the Vederans knew that Trance would need more butter because she misplaced it back at the other side of the portal and that she would need a portal to their system in the first place. If the story had said, Trance was starving to death because she exploded and needed extra juice from the fake suns to survive, that would have made more sense. Instead of just consuming the fake suns and killing everyone there she would have to wait, growing weaker and insane, for her sun to take the fake sun's places.
If there is to be a confrontation with evil suns, do not make them all look like Trance (Mr. Anderson), individuality is an attractive quality. When Dylan and Trance go to marble cloud land, am I the only one here who thought of Narnia, when the mice were going to cut off their tails because their leader lost his. Also, if any of the invading suns wanted to destroy the ship, they could always just: EMP the ship for capture later after they win, attack with everyone and not just one infiltrator, or just simply eat the ship; the atomic putty would not fight back and they could save their molecular arrangement and reassemble them later if they wanted. If Dylan kills a sun with his force lance, would it not explode? That energy does not just go poof away, one of those melted the world ship.
Some of this was due to a writer shift. There's an apocryphal 'script' that sort of reveals where the original writers had been planning to take the plot before things got all mucked up, and the ending it shows does a much better job tying all the loose ends together. If you're curious:

A lot of people try to say Sorbo's character was basically an ass. Having watched all the episodes he really wasn't an ass. So many other characters in films and series who are worse, but sure lets pick on Sorbo's character.
This show went downhill over time, I love the first few seasons but I just quit after this moment, I've tried watching the last season a couple of times but just can't, it had jumped the shark and there's no coming back from it. What was a show about a normal person out of time and rebuilding civilization because about literal space hercules, the earlier seasons felt way more grounded and meaningful, as it progressed it lost that.
I still love the show, it's probably my 6th or 7th favourite scifi franchise (doctor who, star wars, star trek, firefly, stargate, battlestar galactica and farscape beat it, and if my friend is right in counting it as scifi buffy) but it is sad how far it dropped in quality over the years.
I rewatched the whole series over the 4th I looked for a download of the song of the paradise love they don’t make shows like this anymore

+DuracellEnergizer Oh tell me about it. I didn't like Dylan's character. He seemed too heroic and too god like. It really did seem like he was the only one on board who mattered and that Beka and Harper and the others were just there as side characters. I think if they had given the others more story and not made Dylan out to be something he wasn't then the series as a whole would have been stronger.

Pretty obvious from watching this scene that Season 4 was meant to end the series. Trance repeatedly told the crew that nothing would be the same, but Season 5 ends with them all back on Andromeda and back at their positions. Having said that, this is a beautiful, albeit enigmatic scene. The woman's "voice" that Dylan hears in this clip speaks of him having returned "home" and yet he doesn't actually admit to being "home" until the Series Finale at the end of Season 5. Oh well! :)
Actually no, it was always meant to have six or seven seasons with season five being a bridge. The production company going up changed those plans, along with their other meddling
I love Andromeda tv show it was the best sifi show ut was my first time watching a sifi show I will miss Andromeda so much thanks to Kevin who played Dylan hunt for making Andromeda my first time watching a sifi show the channel pick has put on as a replacement for Andromeda relic hunter and relic hunter is watchable but it is not as good as Andromeda. Andromeda was of the scale it was that good relic hunter I give it a 2 out of 10

The only explanation that makes sense here is that like Trance, his newfound powers let him switch places with another Dylan to try beating the Abyss one more time in an arena that the Vedrans had spent 300 years crafting without the Commonwealth. That was the real mission and why Tarn Vedra was sealed off because the old and new Commonwealth were always going to fail against the Abyss and the Nebula.

the issue with this show was that developer who created the show was pushed to leave this project after 3 season as he had other ideas to include them all in everything and big war with megga and niz but producer and network had other ideas and they wanted to make Dylan a god, which was pathetic and season 4 was different from the beginning and for season 5 as network went broke even actors had to take pay cut, but really this show finished complicated and if developer stayed it could be much better.

Andromeda threw up a lot of good ideas and plotlines throughout its run, but then never developed them; they just vanished. One thing I could never understand either was why they abandoned the opening theme by Rush used in the first series, for the turgid dirge used thereafter! I also thought that it became far too much of the Dylan Hunt show.

That opening theme was incredible. Agreed on the sentiment. The series started strong but drifted away very quickly. Amazing that it had a 5 seasons run after all.
At some point Kevin Sorbo gained more creative control. Reportedly it went more towards monster of the week format after that.

I totally see what you mean, i felt the same way. But I also found it kind of interesting to see how Roddenberry apparently wanted to shake up his old ideas. In Star Trek, humans are more or less the ruling class among few equals (Andorrians, Tellarites and Vulcans), but in Andromeda, humans belong to a species that is considered backwater and third-world. Its kind of refreshing in a way, even if it is annoying as well. ^^ I do get your point and I agree; for representatives of a civilization that prides itself on its moral values, it sure had an apathetic view of Earth. Like "What, you want us to save this place? .. This planet.. way out there!? .. Look kid, I got litterally thousands of planets I have to secure, Earth just aint worth it. Soz."

And when he walks to him as if to pass, but then smiles, turns back and walks away, it's meant to symbolise Dylan's journey isn't over yet. Or something like that. Just a thought anyway??

Your theoretical explanation gave words to everything that was in my mind and sounded so much more interesting and gripping than what actually happened.... in one episode in season 5, Dylan goes back in time and sees himself. Yeah.. they did that thing. So much more cliché and pointless.

The moment when he actually goes back to this point in time was shown in one of the season 5 episodes; can't remember which one exactly cause it's been ages since I saw this show, but from interviews made with among others Robert Hewitt Wolfe, it was supposed to symbolize that he at that (future) point had restored his confidence in both himself as a person and being a paradine, and by seeing his past confused version, it was to show how far he had come; a personal growth-thing.

This scene didn't make much sense when considering the following season. Why are there 2 Dylans? Are they both the same person from different timelines?
It almost seems like one of these Dylans isn't the real deal. It would've made for an interesting arc if he had been replaced by a doppelganger, and the crew had to not only deal with all their personal shit, but figure out that their leader wasnt the same guy, and free the real Dylan so they could continue fighting the good fight and all that.

I never completed Season 4. Since I flipping HATED it.. You could really feel that it was NOT Gen Roddenberry whom had written it BUT his son.. Roddenberry would never have pulled that crap with Dylan suddenly being half vedren( Or how you spell it) Specially since we all the way back in season flipping 1 had seen how they actually looked AND been told that it was still THERE!! And then suddenly in Season 4 its all changed... Riiiiight!!!
