    Here we take a look at the most recent shoes that Yearn shoemaker has sent me. A super cool derby that I saw during my last trip to London that I was super impressed with.
    When watching the video and contrasting it against my first video, you will see that there are a lot of improvements on the shoe they sent me which is what prompted this new unboxing. That is not to say that the first shoe was not great. It was amazing. But the fit was tricky. The fit has vastly improved here.
    The detailing has gone up while the pricing is still super low compared to the quality. It is impressive to say the least. And Yearn continues to offer one of the best values on the market and they keep pushing themselves to get better and better.
    I am always excited to see what they come up with next!
    This is an MTO model so you must contact Yearn directly to acquire this pair.

    I agree: a two-eyelet derby like this is super elegant and could have the formality of a classic cap toe oxford - but, dare i say it, more interesting...
    Cheers

    Beautiful shoe. Yearn is really doing some impressive work. I really like that rounded last too. Definitely not a boring classic round...its still quite sleek and modern.

    I placed my MTO when I saw Yearn showcasing that model at London on Instagram. I was also planning to get a loafer on the y01 last but Tim from Yearn advised me to wait to place my loafer MTO because he said it may look odd on a loafer. I'm glad I listened to Tim's suggestion because the y01 last would have looked odd on a loafer given how elongated the y01 last is.

    As of now (10/17/2023), Yearn still doesn't have this model up on their website. If you have some free time, giving them a note would be a great service! It is quite a stunning model and in particular, the line on the edge of the ball part really caught my eyes. Maybe it's the lighting, but that line gives this pair certain sharpness that makes it different from the Arca. Is the he instep area different as well? This pair seems to have a sharper incline that allows for higher instep than the Arca. Another cool pair of shoes, Justin. Nice work and thank you!

    I bought this in full black for a wedding. amazing shoes. my question is: Yearn or Oct tenth?

    • @theshoesnob_official
      @theshoesnob_official  10 місяців тому +1

      I dont really compare brands anymore, especially as I will like them for reasons that are not what the typical person wants to compare. I dont care about a price or anything like that. My favorite brands are the ones that push the edge of design. Yearn or Oct. Tenth are similar. If I just measured design alone, I have seen more things my speed by Oct Tenth in terms of color and design i.e. two tones etc. But Yearns value for money is nearly unmatched at $120 less. So it really depends on what you value. Neither is better than the other IMHO as I can pick pluses and minuses on both.

    • @kamala80
      @kamala80 10 місяців тому +1

      If you have wide feet I'd go with Oct Tenth. Yearn makes a wide width but not a double wide like Oct Tenth.

    In England they are on Trickers and Crockett and Jones price point, and i know which I'd buy, English Shoes and boots are the best, and living in the Northamptonshire borders I've visited the factories and seen the exacting standards built to, the leather used and the skilled craftsman at work

      I was in London a few weeks ago and spent part of two different days on Jermyn Street. During that time I walked through Trickers, Crockett and Jones, and Arterton (Yearn’s UK distributor). The price of the Yearn shoes was £150 less than anything in Trickers or C&J. If you’re talking about Crockett and Jones Handgrade line, which would be the most direct comparison, the Yearn’s were almost £300 less than the C&J’s. I love English Northampton-made shoes…they’re my favorite shoe companies in the world. But there is a fairly substantial price difference between Yearn and their English competitors.

      @@Maitreya0208 I've just looked on Atherton website, Yearn pricing around £20-40 per pair cheaper than C and J good luck selling them at that price point, serious competition from established brands, have to be half that to even tempt me, example Yearn Balmoral boots £535 C and J Coniston £575, I've two pairs of Coniston one pair 30 years old, still amazing condition, the other pair admittedly bought from C and J factory shop, rough out suede getting better and better with age and wearing.

    I don't get it. You can't see the shoe on their website. What's the point of highlighting a shoe that they make that you can't research online? Especially since they are trying to sell this shoe international.
