- Maiden flight of my Freewing AL37 painted as a Delta 737. One bonus landing and pictures at the end of the video. Speed controllers were replaced with Hobbywing ESCs to add reverse thrust for landing.
Fantastic maiden and the model looks great on the ground and in the air.
very nice!
Beautiful machine
Well done!! What’s your impression of the AL37??
Backing up? Now that's taking it a bit too far! Great flight-good job!
Hi - great looking model. What technique did you use to coat this model? I see the shine which makes me think you used epoxy? Appreciate knowing the process and technique. Thanks.
Started by sanding all the foam molding marks and filling in gaps and dents. Applied about 3-4 coats of minwax polyacrilic. Then 3-4 coats of filler primer wet sanding between each coat with progressively fine grit. Paint as desired and apply decals. Finish with 2 coats of polyacrilic.
Hey my Guy what esc do you have in there for thrust reversing ? I'm trying to find which one I can use because Motion RC has one on sale a 80mm EDF 100A w 7A bec? I'm just not sure if that would be compatible. Beautiful flying by the way .
This one I used 2 Hobbywing Platinum V4 80amp ESCs. Only a small modification to the ESC area was needed to fit them.
why is this airplane seems to be laughing soooo fast? looks kind of jumpy and hard to control at lower speeds, maybe it's why it can't land any slower than this, something is missing.
Hello. How are the reverse thrust ESC’s holding up? They seem to work very well. Could you tell me what ESC’s you used and part number. Thanks
They work very well. I have many Planes with reverse now. The ones on this plane are Hobbywing Platinum Pro 80amp V4.
@@pilot482 Thanks for your reply. 👍🏻🇺🇸
Excellent paint job! Did you glass the aircraft? If not how did you finish and paint the plane?
No, I didn't glass it. Used 4 coats of clear as a base. Then 3-4 coats of a filler primer wet sanding between each coat. Then use behr spray paint to paint it. Then the decals were applied and finished with 2 coats of clear on top.
Thx for the info
If you want to make it a more authentic looking model, it needs some scab patches, hydraulic leaks, and fuel leaks from the underwing panels. Haha. Looks awesome as it is.
If it was a model based on Frontier or any of those low level carriers you would have to rig up some rap music and voice recordings of irate uncivilized humanoids.
