During Bridgeport's Mountain Survival training other participants pulled out their fixed blade knives and began hacking on some wood. It amazed me how I had put a lot of thought into my knife. I carried a Bowie Knife that was very sharp. It did me well while out in the mountains surviving. When you make a survival shelter, make it small enough for you just to fit. Your body heat will help keep you warm without having all the space that will give you hypothermia. I like your choice of handguns; I too would carry my 357 magnum. Thank you for the video! You have some good stuff in it. Semper fi!
@culinaryavatar9563 , I love my Ruger New Model Blackhawk. Out of all my handguns, I am the most accurate with that. It fires a fairly large Handgun round and the extra weight tames the recoil really well. Makes follow-up shots really easy for me. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. Semper Fidelis Devil Dog!!!
@loganfields159 , One of the Best Firearms that I own. You can never go wrong with a Ruger New Model Blackhawk. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it.
This is a great jumping off point for those wondering where to start. Fire, blade, gun, sleep, cooking/water purification. Anything else is an add on from here. Makes me want to go through and recheck all my stuff for my family and I!
knife, firearm kit, water filter, sw tainless Bottle , fero rod, tac light and multi-tool . All EDC imo. I would add a traditional wool grand kilt to my clothing with a pistol belt . Therefore, my 5 Bug out items.would be a rifle w kit, wool blanket, large tarp w lines ,axe and shovel .. All with a back pack.
@C21H30O2 , Scandi grids are hard to get the angle just right to sharpen, but once you "crack the code," you will have a razor shape fixed Blade Knife every time. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it!!!
when my bic gets wet I just run the flintwheel on my pants a few times plus some aggressive blowing and it dries out not ideal but its better than nothing I also have ferro rod and waterproofed matches
@thisaccountisntreal107 , I am not that skilled at getting a wet Bic lighter back into service. It usually takes me about a solid hour to get a reliable flame from it again. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it.
@@GySgt67 for the sake of potential life saving education; Blow and shake out all the water you can manage first Then Use your leg and run the wheel hot and fast down your thigh It takes a good few minutes but you'll be throwing sparks pretty quick It's worth practicing if you have a cup of water and a bic
Meh, if you "Bug Out" then you're a glorified refugee. You need a place to go. Also, it has to be 150 miles from a city of 200,000 because that's how far those refugees will roam. BTW, the only answer is Alaska.
@Easy-Eight , for the majority of situations, I am going to attempt to stay put and ride out whatever issue has come up, but for those 1 in a million scenarios that arise (CAT 5 Hurricane, Wildfire, Roving gangs going door to door, looting, murdering, and raping) I will Bug Out to my Bug Out Location. Additionally, my Bug Out Location is on a side road, of a side road, deep in the woods, about 12 miles outside of the city/suburbs. It will not be easily found. Lastly, I have numerous family members who will also be heading to that same Bug Out Location. All the adult males have military or law enforcement backgrounds and know how to handle themselves in a SHTF scenario. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it.
