Think you'll find more people haven't experienced this than have. I know where I live you basicly can't camp anywhere. Police will get involved quick. Plus I think glamping is becoming more popular.

I used to spend summers in a village above Montreux, Switzerland. It was amazing to see all the campers there and further along the lake. Every camping site was full.
