I appreciate your content Steve, I still learn something everyday on this journey. Why can't others allow people to discover and learn without their 2¢ worth. Keep doing what you are doing.
Yup, not sure why some people insist on doing that and usually very consistently. I always appreciate any tips offered by the Grand Poobha and Chief Potentate Steve.
There are two Ah-Ha moments I have. My recurring moment is every time I go to a restaurant, I can sit in a booth and don't have to scout the place or send my best friend in first to see if they have tables. If they had only booths, we would leave. Now I just go in and sit. The biggest moment though was on Christmas in an outlet mall. I waited for my buddy to buy stuff in his store when I looked around and for the first time noticed that nobody stared at me. Being over 400lbs means that people look at you all the time. I was noticed everywhere. I got used to it. But this feeling of complete invisibility at that moment was so overwhelming that I had to fight tears and sit down. I was down 100 lbs at this moment. I explained this to my friend when he came back but he did not understand. But yeah... that moment 5 years ago defined and changed my life.
Big hug! Those are things so many get to take for granted! That feeling of, "wow! So this is how it feels!" is VERY difficult to convey to anyone who never had to think about it. Congratulations on your milestones! 🎉
Hi 👋, Steve. My moment was last night. I realized that I can cross my legs! I haven’t been able to cross my legs for at least 40 years. (Btw, 2 days ago was my 70th birthday 🥳.) So I’m really proud of myself.
What is wrong with people?🤦🏽♀️ Steve please ignores the people who obviously miserable people who want to make others miserable too. All your videos are excellent.
I pretty much do ignore them in the comments, unless they are obviously trolling, in which case they just get a channel ban. I just want everyone to understand why I do the videos that I do and perhaps I didn't explain it well enough in the "Cool Whip" video.
After I was diagnosed with diabetes, I went on a keto diet. 75 pounds later I can now bend over to do my own pedicures. really important for people with diabetes to take care of your feet. So many salons have cut me, clipping cuticles.
I didn't learn how to make whipped cream until after I started keto about 18 months ago. I had always either grabbed the can of whipped cream out of the refrigerated section or picked up a container of Cool Whip in the frozen section. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who grew up doing that. Glad someone out there didn't assume everyone already knew how to do that and made a video so I was able to learn. So I think you were right to post your video. Others on their keto journey looking for how to make it will be able to find it. Even though I knew, I still watched your video and enjoyed it. Hope you're having a great time with the family and the newest addition!
A-ha moment: when I got into my Chevy trailblazer I'd adjust my steering wheel... and it would always touch my abdomen. How different life is now!!!!!!! Love my WOE. 🥰🥰
AHA moment: Lugging the 40 pound cat litter container! So annoying, but, without fail, it makes me remember the 62 pounds I’m NOT carrying around anymore after 2+ years seed-oil free & keto. Love ya Steve and family❤
Love that look you get of bliss when you talk about your new grandson! Yep, I agree...down another 5 lbs after coming back from vacation! I think all the walking helped and I stuck to keto 80%. When I did cheat and ate gluten, holy crap did my joints cry in retort!! lol The canola/vegetable oil crap used in fast food also affects me in the joint and bloat area like gluten. Feel so much better every day and glad I've chosen this lifestyle. Keto on!
You’re perfectly within your schedule, so no worries here! You had a great time with your family and I’m perfectly fine with that. 😉 Your recipes are awesome and you ARE a resource for us to find good stuff to help us stay keto. Thank you so for what you’re doing!! I think you’re being a wonderful influence on us keto people . Thank you so much! 🙏🏼
My husband's favorite dessert is fresh strawberries with whipped cream that I have been making just like you did. Same sweetener. A few toasted almond slices on top for crunch. My mother taught me how to cook, and homemade whipped cream was always special for the holidays. You are correct that many never learned basic cooking from their parents. Too many pre-prepared foods.
One thing I noticed after Keto was being able to stay out in sun longer without feeling wiped out while working outside. We got back from Hawaii for our 50th anniversary this month, not my best Keto moment for six days, but trying to get back on track. BTW cute grandson.
Wow. So much to comment on. My a-ha is now willing to sit in bulkhead seats on airplanes. I now fit. Also, each morning walking, I pass someone who looks like I did prior to losing 100 lbs. I know I never want to go back. Your recipes, even easy ones are a kick in the pants to me of “yes, I can do that.” Even if it is simple, it reminds us how easy it really is. So thank you. It means I actually do it/eat it. Last, I do miss babies. Although we have 8 grandchildren, the youngest is now 6. I miss the precious bundles of joy. Hold on dearly to those memories. They are fleeting.
A few months ago I was carrying two 40lb bags of softener salt down a set of stairs. I got to the bottom and turned around... After going up 5 or 6 stairs, it hit me... Any time I want to over eat, or eat the wrong food, I should grab the salt and bring them back upstairs! It simply isn't worth it. I also feel ill when I'm off plan...
Steve, I like your channel. There are some that I skip, but I have learned a lot from you. Please keep doing what you're doing, on your time. Yhank you foI sharing your new grandson with us; he sure is a cutie! Grands are the greatest!
People are ridiculous! Keep doing what you're doing. I personally appreciate everything you do, including the whipped cream recipe. If I watch a video of yours on something I already know how to make, there's a chance you may have a better way of doing it or give another option for flavoring, etc. By doing these recipes, you're giving everyone a better option than the foods in the store with all of the unwanted ingredients. If it helps someone in their keto journey by giving them a better option, then I don't see how anyone can say you're doing anything wrong....except those people who will never be happy with anything in their lives. Keep doing what you're doing!
Sad that people will hate on stuff. Glad to see you back in my feed. I did go back to drinking coffee, just decaf. What do you say to an Italian astronaut? Pasta la vista, baby!
My Ah Ha moment - I flew last week for the first time since losing 130 lbs - lots of room in the seat belt and just in the seat in general. But the best was not only could I use the tray table, but slide it fully toward me - that never happened before! You don't have to explain yourself - some folks will always complain! Thanks for what you do for our community!
Congratulations! 🎉 Boss❤im eternally grateful for my 2 yr old granddaughter. She is a pip😂best wishes on the 5K🎉i really can't list all the ways keto has improved my life. 100 lbs down😊
I love your videos and find them very informative. Please keep doing what you are doing. I get upset when some people just have to find Something to gripe about. I have been on my keto journey for 6 years and love learning more about this diet! ❤
Steve, I am one of those people who really appreciate when you show very basic techniques (sign on my fridge says "I have a kitchen because it came with the house..). Thank you. And showing a different option for cool whip is great. I don't particularly want to support "big food" if I can help it.
I’ve lost 150lbs on Keto. I’m 170lbs now. My Aha moment was when I could reach all the way around my torso with one hand. Now I can scratch my whole back. I got so heavy that there was no way I was reaching certain parts of my body. My waist used to be 60”. Now it’s around 36”. I’m so glad I started losing weight 6 years ago. I’ve maintained it for 4 years now. Good thing I lost it. I was diagnosed with a genetic blood disease - Hemochromatosis. But, 2 years ago I required open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve. My valve had been hit by endocarditis. I don’t know when or how. But, I’m pretty good now.
I really appreciate all your posts. I'm low carb bur never feel out of place. I remember listening to you talk about joints and inflammation when I first started listening to you and a light bulb went off when I realized I my knees and hips don't hurt anymore even though my xrays show arthritis! I don't know what the reason is, whether it's thoils I no longer use or the fact that I eat very little wheat, but it's great. Thanks for all you do!
I'm glad you mentioned the Ole Extreme Wellness tortillas. I was concerned about them causing a glucose spike because you can't trust store-bought Keto products. But I tested them(mainly due to your influence) and they are great.
You are a blessing, and don't forget it! ❤ Thank you for all you do! As for the Mission Tortilla thing, I personally use La Banderita and not Mission because they use "interesterified and hydrogenenated soybean oils" which is a no-go for me. La Banderita uses EVOO. Although ideally we should probably stay away from wheat anything, I confess I don't totally.😂
The whole "you can't have wheat ANYTHING" on keto is an internet creation. When Dr. Russell Wilder coined the "ketogenic diet" in 1923 as a way to control seizures in epileptics, there was no list of forbidden foods. There was a list of suggested foods and the macronutrient ratios. 100 years ago wheat products would have been off the list of foods you can eat, not by them being forbidden, but as a matter of necessity to hit your macros. At that time, things like "resistant wheat fiber" or "vital wheat gluten" weren't potential ingredients. I'm not claiming that these wheat derived ingredients are nutritious or healthy, nor that it should be part of one's daily diet. What I am saying is that if it doesn't spike your glucose, or knock you out of ketosis, or cause you inflammation or GI issues, I don't see the harm in them as a periodic treat -- especially if it helps you stick to a ketogenic or low carb lifestyle.
I've been exploring sourdough breads, and getting into milling my own grain. The freshly milled flour community makes similar claims for that as we see with keto. I don't have the expertise to judge their research, and I'm doing it more for my husband who is diabetic and won't give up bread. I may indulge in a slice myself every now and then, and will watch my carbs with it. I love baking bread, and just because I can't eat it myself doesn't mean I should deny myself the pleasure of making it.
Well, I was glad to see the whipped cream video because I like to see how other people make it. I've decided I'd like to try your recipe with the Sweet Drops Vanilla Creme addition. Keep the basic videos coming. I wasn't taught to cook while growing up and I've struggled ever since so I appreciate when I'm given instructions that contain basic information that everyone SHOULD know but maybe don't.
My mouth dropped open when you talked about the whipped cream comments. I'm a baker, cook, love to experiment, vegetarian (don't hate me). And I enjoyed the simple reminder of whipped cream variations - and saved it in my keto ideas Playlist (which has a lot of your recipes in it!). I laughed, I admit, at your stiff peaks (those are soft peaks, dude) but enjoyed the whole thing. And thanks for the update on family in this one!
I don't understand why people need to be rude. Not for you... just move on! I love all the information you share and always look forward to your videos!
Hey Steve, don't let the bastards get you down, right? I learn from you all the time. Often I look to your content for inspiration. We share a lot of overlapping ven diagrams, brother. Rock on!
It’s too bad people are so angry these days. Thank you for all your tips and tricks. I especially love the product testing both taste and with the monitor. Congrats on the new grandbaby!
You helped me 4 years ago now, more than you know! Now I stay cause I love ya and Courtney all those taste tests 😂 thanks always yall are appreciated ❤
I know what you mean about lugging around extra weight - often when I carry my old 40-lb dog up the stairs, I marvel that I used to carry that same weight (actually 50 lbs) around on my body all day, every day. So grateful for low carb weight loss.
Hey Steve... I appreciated the whipped cream video as I've never had a need to make it yet. I've noticed several keto/carnivore influencers saying the same things about comments in recent videos. Every "Body" is different... what works for you doesn't anyways work for me. I have trouble with wheat. Sometimes, I'll stop watching a product review that contains wheat. Other times, I'll watch it to see your glucose reaction. I just wanna say to these haters, "Lighten up Francis!"
I was just walking home from my grocery store the other nite and got a deal of grass fed beef! Unheard of up here in Thunder Bay Ontario! I bought five packs for a total weight of 5 lbs and after walking that bag home it felt heavy! I cannot imagine 50 lbs! Cheers Steve love your podcasts!
I like how we are ALL different. We each can have something to bring to the table, each with different talents to share or not share. I love watching your channel, I always learn something from your channel and how to change my eating plan. So far, your recipes have been spot on and I’ve loved them. As for fast food dupes, our tastes are ever evolving and things we used to love just don’t taste good anymore from fast food. Luckily we can cook at home with better ingredients. Sometimes simple is better. Enjoy your grand kids/ family.
I subscribe to quite a few keto cooking channels and I have got to say that yours is my favourite. Not only do you compare products for us but you also create recipes as well. One of the major benefits of your channel is that you focus more on health aspects than some of the other ones do. You also try to keep the list of ingredients accessible for us so that we do not end up with an overloaded pantry, with products that will expire before we use them again please stay the way you are. We love you and congrats again on the new grandbaby.
I’m 60, been keto for a few years and started running several years ago. I love running fasted, no wall to hit cause my body is used to burning my own fat. Completed my first Olympic distance triathlon this year and I’ve committed to another next year. Setting a goal and putting skin ($) in the game keeps me on track. Good luck and you may start enjoying it 🏃🏽➡️
Love the video as always! Especially the grandkids. And my ah ha moment..I started wearing a backpack with 16lbs in it. And I have lost twice that and it feels heavy on my joints.
Shaking my head over those unkind comments. I appreciate every podcast and for every Keto Kop there are more that understand we are not obligated to choose Steve’s choices, I appreciate knowing what works for others and the gripers should get a grip. I don't eat Cool Whip because I never liked it as a child. I appreciate our differences
Another great informative video Steve, Thank you Sir! As for haters and nay sayers don't matter what it is someone's going to complain.... Growing up back in the day the saying was if you gave some one a million dollars they would complain because they had to pay taxes on it! Keep up the great work!
No worries …. Grand babies always take the front seat!!! ❤❤❤ And, never mind the haters!! Don’t pay any attention, we all do what we have to do to make this way of eating, work! I think if you get results and lose weight and better your health. You do you! Right? There will always be those that are Uber clean which is great! Then some of us who vary but still have results. Also great!
I really appreciated the whipped cream recipe. I know how but it got me thinking how easy it is to make! And so many of the products on the shelf’s are so full of crap! Maltodextrin which is so hard on your body and worse than sugar!
My wife put 25 pounds of hand weights in my hands as a demonstration. I have been able to lose 60 pounds since mid May. The Mineshaft is a fun place to go. Thank you for your channel. It has helped me a lot in my Keto journey. Good luck in training for the 5k.
I made the mistake on my last day of my vacation to have a new Burger King Fiery Fish Sandwich and the accompanying mozzarella sticks. That was a huge mistake - gastro issues for two days. Never again. Also they were far-from-spicy. Anyone think they are spicy you are obviously not a ChileHead! So little that even my picky son wouldn't think it was spicy. Never again!! Learned my lesson.
Funny you should say that you had a ton of keto flours…I still do have my expired collection and it’s getting tossed now! Thanks for the wake up call. It took a long time to figure out which keto things I was going to make from scratch, and like you said, I’m not a keto baker. Love your channel and I don’t ever remember what your topic schedule is so go ahead and enjoy your family and change up the “Wednesday I always post thus and so”, cuz probably a lot of us don’t notice the difference! I enjoy your videos. Thanks for making them!
I wish the brunch buffet had some more keto options, but carbs are cheaper and fill people up. I basically have scrambled eggs, sausage and a ridiculous mound of bacon. 😉
Hey Steve, I'm GenX and I 100% agree on the Cool Whip = whipped cream thing!! Yep, growing up, didn't even know there was a difference. I gotta go watch that video. :)
So happy for your new grandson! And happy you are taking time to enjoy life! I do miss your baking, but that's ok. Like you said, there are others doing that. Enjoy!
I appreciate your 2020 confession about alcohol i myself had to eventually fold my hand and go to AA. I also have CKD, but since the start of praying and meditation and doing keto, my GFR has went up 7 points.🎉
I have to stop your video mid way to comment about cool whip...don't worry, I'll watch the rest. I watched a someone make something using cool whip and thought it looked so good, I should try making it. The ingredients on it made me put it right back. I missed your video on making whipped cream, but I welcome it! That's the better choice! I don't know why I didn't even think to make whipped cream myself. And at 63 I've never made whipped cream, but my kitchen is tiny so I lack some small appliances most people have. Also, this is your channel. You do you!
Thank you for teaching me how you make a great keto cool whip! It turned out perfect. I already knew how to make whipped cream but adding the Vanilla Crème sweetleaf sweet drops was new to me and I really like it a lot. I appreciate you taking the time to teach me. I have been adding the drops to my matcha lattes and my yogurt and it has really made a difference in how they taste. I can't wait to try the other flavors too. Thank you ☺️
La Banderita tortillas, - I've tried a few. I like the flavor and texture of the zero net carb tortilla the best. I do wonder why they market 0, 3, and 5 net carb 'keto certified' tortillas. I also got a pack of their street taco (small) carb counter tortillas before realizing each had 3 net carbs... Hmmm.
I like the tortillas but I'm super skeptical. Anytime I indulge in the tortillas, I've noticed that my weight loss pauses. I don't see a spike in blood sugar but I still don't trust them. I don't use packets of artificial sweetener because they actually use dextrose as a filler and it rounds down to zero carbs. 😳 I haven't completely put the low-carb tortillas into the snake oil bin where Dreamfields pasta lives, but it certainly not in my approved category.
Now for me, carrying over 30 pounds over any distance is a pain, where I used to carry (not including 100-200+ extra poundage in my later years), up to 300-400 pounds in boxes balanced on my hips -- the 200+ pound carrying was generally in my teenage years... but I still could move the heavier items short distances into my late 50's. Now I can still pick up the items, but I have to use only my left leg as my right knee cannot support the extra weight -- above my weight -- if I actually have to walk somewhere.
Congrats on the newest member of your family! And BTW, I loved your last video with the whipping cream because you used a stevia flavor that I had never heard of before. Thank you for that. Also, I wanted to mention to you that I have seen on IG that Redman’s Salt has been accused of containing heavy metals. I thought most people on Keto were using Redmans products. This may not be anything you’re interested in covering and if so, I understand. Thank you for all that you do for the Keto community. 🙏❤️👍👏
Heh Steve. Sounds like content creators need thick skin. Can't imagine why people send negative comments. I was raised if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything. Guess these people don't follow that. Anyway, I am here in northern Canada, 80 years old and been watching every video you make since the 2020 incident. I started keto then and you have been so helpful. (Lost 40 lbs) Ignore the negative people. They are just sad and mean spirited. Can't imagine living in a body like that. You should feel sorry for them in my view. Thousands of us adore you and the family. Regards to you and Terry and your expanding family. ❤️
Unfortunately some very sad individuals only get ‘joy’ out of making insulting and rude comments. You just have to recognise that they are sad people and ignore them. Nothing wrong in doing the simple basic style videos as we all need to learn at some time. Congratulations on the new Grandson.
Ever since you turned me onto Healthy Noodles, I feel like we have similar taste in food. Unfortunately, Costco doesn’t carry them anymore. I have since been buying Skinny Pasta which is a good substitute. I trust your taste in food so I follow your recipes. All I’ve tried suits me. Keep it up. Live your stuff.
Sadly, haters gonna be haters - just know that 99% of your members and viewers appreciate you always.
Well said!👏

I remember listening to you talk about joints and inflammation when I first started listening to you and a light bulb went off when I realized I my knees and hips don't hurt anymore even though my xrays show arthritis! I don't know what the reason is, whether it's thoils I no longer use or the fact that I eat very little wheat, but it's great. Thanks for all you do!
I had an off keto meal last Friday. My right hip and lower back hurt until yesterday. So yeah, keto is pretty wonderful. 🙂👍🏻
Your family always comes first. I know that’s true for me. So whenever you get around to getting your great videos out I will be here to watch them. 😊
I appreciated the cool whip video very much. I've never made whipped cream. 😊
I don't get it either. There's really no upside to it. Maybe a brief moment of feeling superior or self-righteous...
You keep doing you, I enjoy your videos and find a lot of them helpful and im 60
Love how you love your family!
Congratulations on your 2nd grandson!
I don't mind waiting for your videos. Your joy over your new grandchild is worth waiting for.
P.S. I loved your whipped cream demo because it was a reminder on how easy it is to make.
Hey Steve, don't let the bastards get you down, right?
I learn from you all the time. Often I look to your content for inspiration.
We share a lot of overlapping ven diagrams, brother.
Rock on!
That’s why I got that tattoo. 😉👍🏻
It’s too bad people are so angry these days. Thank you for all your tips and tricks. I especially love the product testing both taste and with the monitor. Congrats on the new grandbaby!
Yeah, it's hard to be anywhere (especially on the internet) and not encounter angry people. Sigh...
Absolutely the same moment for me, just with dog food instead of salt.
Please ignore the haters! I appreciate your videos. Thank you for all you do! Gen X here and I can’t tell you the difference between the two!
Love love when my grandkids smile, just melts my heart❤
Thanks Steve. I appreciated the whipped cream video as it introduced me to the SweetLeaf flavored stevia so thank you for that.
Some people just like to be upset. Thank you, for attempting to making your channel for more than just one type ❤
I love your channel. Keep doing what you do. I don't really get why people treat food like a religion. Don't like something. Don't make it or eat it.
I can’t carry a 50# bag of cement but I used to carry that much more extra weight
My aha moment similar to yours. Picking up a 40# bag of cat litter. Mind blown.
Congrats to you and your family on the new addition! 💞
1) baby smiles🥰
2) people are so ridiculous
3)keeping my eyes peeled😉
4) just ordered the vanilla cream stevia🤗
5)great pronunciation of La Banderita!
Thank you
No worries ….
Thanks Steve ❤
Thanks Steve.
My wife put 25 pounds of hand weights in my hands as a demonstration. I have been able to lose 60 pounds since mid May. The Mineshaft is a fun place to go. Thank you for your channel. It has helped me a lot in my Keto journey. Good luck in training for the 5k.
I had forgotten how to make whipped cream. I was a good refresher.
I love your recipe for Barbecue sauce. I make it every month. My family loves it as well.❤
I'm so happy you're getting some mileage out of it. 🙂👍
Great picture with your grandson Steve. I did not know how to make cool whip until you showed me. Thank you.
Congrats Grandpa! It is awesome. My 5th will be here in about 3 weeks. Mineshaft is great. My kids and grands love it.
I wish the brunch buffet had some more keto options, but carbs are cheaper and fill people up. I basically have scrambled eggs, sausage and a ridiculous mound of bacon. 😉
Congrats on your new grandbaby!🎉❤🎉❤
Excellent!
Thank you ☺️
Your channel is very helpful. Thank you
La Banderita tortillas, - I've tried a few. I like the flavor and texture of the zero net carb tortilla the best. I do wonder why they market 0, 3, and 5 net carb 'keto certified' tortillas. I also got a pack of their street taco (small) carb counter tortillas before realizing each had 3 net carbs... Hmmm.
I haven’t compared the variations. That might be interesting.
I haven't completely put the low-carb tortillas into the snake oil bin where Dreamfields pasta lives, but it certainly not in my approved category.
I love how you relate to the birth of your new Grandbaby💌
Great smile with the grand 😊. I appreciated the vid with the allulose review you did in the past. Without it I might have blown by that option. Thanks
Then you'll probably like Friday's recipe video. 😉
Mr Bananas?! Bananas ain't keto! Shouldn't he be renamed Professor Chaffles? 🤣🍌
Colton isn’t keto. 😉
Deadlines help me, too! I also agree about Grandchildren smiles. LOVE THEM!!
I loved the video on whipping cream! Keep up the good work 🎉❤❤
Unfortunately some very sad individuals only get ‘joy’ out of making insulting and rude comments. You just have to recognise that they are sad people and ignore them. Nothing wrong in doing the simple basic style videos as we all need to learn at some time. Congratulations on the new Grandson.
Thanks for the vid.
Looks like I’ll have to check out my Costco tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.
Keep doing what you're doing! Great channel and don't worry about the trolls.
