- I drove the new V8-powered Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 off-road in Moab during this years Easter Jeep Safari. With 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, the 392 offers the fun and performance previously only available on custom V8 Wrangler swaps typically costing $100,000 and up.

I've never wanted a keep wrangler until the 392 came out. I saw one on the road the other day and loved it. Also, I am so old school when it comes to off roading there is too many options and buttons for me. Just give me 4 low and 4 high and I'll be good. Lol
Drive one and then report back.
Only likes driving on smooth straight sand roads, doesn’t like the loud exhaust, doesn’t want the top open, complains that it’s loud, calls it a car.....this was definitely not made for you.
I’d much rather drive that car on those roads too. Your wasting the magic of the 392 in those conditions. Can’t even hear that engine wind out when your crawling at 5 mph..

You really should air down more than 28 psi, next time go to 12-15 psi, you’ll get better traction 👍
The exhaust will still open up at full throttle, even when in quiet mode. Yes you can drive the 392 in 2 wheel drive, just requires using the Taser. Jeep limited to full-time 4 wheel drive to pass government hp to wheel base and width requirements. Not the rumored "rear axle will not hold up". My 392, XR package, came with 35"BF Goodrich all-terrain tires and drives extremely well on-road.392 you are driving has mud-terrain tires.... which does make quite a difference in ride quality on-road.

This morning the Jeep dealers were instructed to cancel orders for 392s. The dealer where I'd ordered from had 22 orders, including mine. They called and said all were being canceled except the first 5 and they were told no more 392s would be delivered in 2021. I'd be interested in hearing how many people actually get one of these this year and whether they're fine waiting or are instead considering jumping ship.
I picked up one this week that someone backed out of.......drove it home yesterday.

@@yrrah89 Well my dealer said there is a global parts shortage that's holding up production and to not plan on any more deliveries in 21. That doesn't really sound right to me unless they're redesigning around the bottleneck.

you can turn off the AWD off from your settings and drive on 2wd only

$100 K ? Not really unless it's being sold on a lot with all the options. In 2021 my "Friends & Family" deal with trail camera, roof liner, tow package, Gorilla glass options is $73.5 K + tax. As far as options go there is not many plus you really don't need any of them because stock it has everything except the Tow package [$350]
I asked several dealers and they would not honor my Friends And Family Discount. XR package (35" tires, 4.56 gears, tailgate hinge reenforcement) is $4k, Sky Roof One-Touch is $1,500 on 392, more on regular Wranglers. Now in 2023, being the last year, dealers are marking them up. So Yes, you can quickly get to $100k out the door price.
@@McIntosh1006 In October of 2021 four Michigan dealers told me, No Friends & Family and also marked up their 392 $10K over MSRP.
Golling Chrysler Roseville was the only dealer who accepted Friends & Family back then with no mark up over MSRP on a order. I paid just under $80K out the door with $1,800 in optional equipment plus $2,647 for a 85,000 mile warranty. The 392 arrived 10 weeks later.

But, great for you. Sounds like you got a good deal. My local dealer would have ordered me a 2023 at MSRP, but didn’t think F&F Disc would apply? I don’t order because of no longer being able to get XR package. To pay that much for a Jeep and order/wait for 6-8 months now and not be able to exactly what you want???
I got lucky and found a customer cancelled one from a dealer.

Hey I was just doing what they told me to do. This was a media drive, so the Jeep reps 1) are basically salespeople trying to get good press for their product 2) dont want their product to get destroyed and 3) need to tailor the course/demonstration to the least capable/most incompetent media member in attendance.
Price is stupid on this jeep, rather spend the money on a fullsize pickup truck

Don’t believe the magazine reviews. Those are a joke. You have to look at owner reviews, that’s where you’ll get the right info. Those paid magazine puppets will trash brand x because they get paid by the competition to talk unsubstantiated trash about them.
Consumer Reports is a joke. They get paid by the competition to say nonsense about the brands that are kicking their ass. It’s all about the owner reviews. Jeep’s are freaking badass
I’ve owned both, and wheeled my 200 series extensively. I would never go back to a Land Cruiser over a Wrangler Rubicon. Capability and tech are light years ahead with Jeeps. And resale value tells you they clearly are made well.
