The biggest problem with social media, in my view, is the comparing of yourself to the personas that people put out for the world to see on their feeds. These are personas that most often have no basis in reality, which is why seeing them constantly and comparing ourselves to them could be a dangerous/detrimental thing.
I deleted my social media’s because I realized I was wasting my life scrolling through other people’s life’s, now I read, meditate, pray, walk, journal, finding new hobbies and it’s so uplifting. I’m doing a 6 week break but after I get back to it I’m setting time limits on each app

I deleted all my social media last weekend, Ive realized that I have so much time, I used to complain about school and that I don’t have time to do things, but the same day I deleted social media I was outside cycling 2 hours and explored music and listened to 3 albums which I loved.
@MxHunter that's awesome. It just goes to show how much time social media consumes us. If it doesn't serve you well, I think you've made the right decision, especially as you're building up your hobbies and talking to your family more 😊

I've never understood why people feel the need to show off their lives to other people that they don't really care about. I don't think anyone really gives a shit about a person's picture as much as that person. Plus, when you go to somewhere, it should be uncomfortable to feel that need to take a photo, adjusting perfect lighting, filters and stuff. Watching other people's lifes is a pathetic way of spending time. A person who has a respect for himself/herself wouldn't feel the need to use it. Life is better when you try to spend it by developing yourself both physically and mentally. The feeling of permanent hapiness occures when you take control of your life and start to run to a purpose.
Getting rid of Social Media is the best thing ever! Some things you will notice: 1) You realize you do not have as many friends as you may think. This is good, you wasted time with "fake" friends on a social platform. 2) You have more time to find a hobby 3) You will be more happy 4) You will not have drama, most drama starts on social media. 5) You will not need to put on an image for "likes" 6) You will find your real self 7) You will make more money, and not need to showboat 8) You will live a lowkey lifestyle 9) You will not fit in, its overrated anyway 10) You will be a better parent, husband/wife, bf/gf, son/daughter , etc. 11) If you are in school, your grades will improve 12) You will have more time to get in shape/workout. No pressure of the fake shit you can focus on YOU Overall thats just some positive things I HAVE noticed. Social Media is the devil, its fake, its depressing. I realized I talked , liked, interacted with people who were just "cyber" friends, waste of time, if you have lets say 1k friends , once you delete it I bet you will maybe talk to 20-50 if that after you delete it. Delete it and you will live life! No need to impress others, live for you and your close ones
i knew this girl that went to my school, she didn’t have any social media or anything like that. people bullied her for that and i felt bad for her. little did they know she’s so much happier enjoying and living in the moment while everyone else is trapped in social media. i think imma follow her footsteps because it’s about time for a change.

Social Media is SO toxic and Time consuming, Use it to your advantage and take regular breaks from it cuz it really does mess with your thoughts and if you find yourself scrolling and refreshing pages just to see content, just turn of the phone cuz it's just pointless😂
I’ve been off social media for nearly two months now. For the first time in over a decade I am so satisfied with the way that I look. I feel so comfortable and secure about my body. I have been yo-yo dieting/exercising on and off for YEARS now. Never satisfied with my body, even though I actually have a pretty nice body. Men always found my body more attractive than I did. I could not see what they saw, and hated my body…. Until now. And I’ve all of a sudden have the flattest stomach and smallest waste I’ve ever been able to achieve while still keeping my curves, and I’m not even TRYING! I may never return to social media again.
I just deleted all of my social media. Feels weird but I want to better myself. I’m sick of the cycle I put myself in feeling miserable everyday. I’m done and I want to move forward.
Back when I was addicted Social media started giving me a dark energy and made me very lazy and made it hard for me to keep my semen retition once I deleted it Life has changed and my confident has went up and my grind has been unstoppable and I wasted so many time of my life instead I could be making my life better instead of comparing myself to others

@@user-nv3sh5jh3p social media made women become more narcissistic. I'm 38 but Facebook took off when I was 21 back in '04. That's when everybody started going on there at least at colleges. I refused to join the trend back then because I knew of all of the evils it was going to bring. People thought I was crazy back then and throughout my 20's for not having Facebook. As I entered my 30's those same people who said I was crazy then said they wished they had gone my route because they can't get off of it and are miserable. Not having it didn't make life less fun but it made it more enjoyable and easier to live. I'm glad nobody but my close friends knew about my relationships and break ups. I knew girls would get angry at me when they couldn't trash me online after a break up simply because I didn't have a Facebook account or any other social media. I'm also glad nobody but a few close friends knew about my on struggles and highs. I just feel as humans we are not suppose to share every important detail of our lives with everybody. Being on social media is like being a celebrity with all your privacy being gone but without the benefits of being a celebrity.
Same here it would have been so much more real and authentic. Got rid of social media 1-2 years ago for that very reason. To live real life not some virtual life.
not totally true. I have social media to share what I write and compose in piano. Artists have the need of sharing their creations. I don´t care about the money.
I notice that the times in my life when I was actually happy and more productive was when social media was deleted. Social media, esp TikTok, has caused me so much anxiety and stress and depression. It sucks bc it is sometimes a source of inspiration for me and it does make me feel less lonely, but truthfully I nothing real or lasting ever comes from it.
I deleted all of them in summer 2021. Im never going back, I love my life without social media. I love that I dont see what everyone is doing and posting. Im also an artist and i quit drawing for some times because I compared my art to others. I also had a relationship and most beautiful part of it was ruined from social media. After quitting them everyone with tiktok or insta songs near me annoyed me so much , theyr so irritating man. I dont want to be in a bunch of untalented people making fame from dancing and trolling around, or a bunch of people hating each other in real life and liking each others posts in social media , just trying to impress each other. I found myself again. I reccomand this to everyone
I agree with you 100% in every aspect and relate with you. About comparing and also about a relationship being ruined due to social media. Not only that but it’s so true people are soooooo fake they will like and follow people on social media that they don’t even like in real life and that’s so crazy to me lol. I use to have these friends that didn’t like certain girls but yet would follow them on social media just to keep up with them and they were envoys of these girls because they were pretty and seen them as a threat that’s so weird to me.
@@ccyoutube8793 Me too, didnt see the point when I compaired my art to others art and didnt find it worth doing. Im no longer on sosial media and started drawing again.
Same here I deleted social media over a year ago I want to say maybe two years ago at this point and my life has been so much better. So much more in touch with reality and drama free.
I deleted tik tok becouse it made my mind go crazy. I got all these spiritual videos on my for you page that made me question my reality. Im a really spiritual person and I like these topics but the amount of videos I was expose to was making me sick mentally. I think tik tok so demanding. You forget time when you on there. I was spending 3 hours in a row and didn’t notice it. And the sad part is that so many young kids use this app.
I totally relate. I’m religious actually but all the content both religious and spiritual was just too much for me to handle. Plus is was horrible to watch everyone argue other different ideologies.
I’ve yet to tap into tik tok and at this point I don’t think I ever will. The only reason I even rejoined social media to begin with was to keep in touch with people I don’t see on an everyday basis. There’s a lot of people who I don’t see anymore because I went to school with them or that there old coworkers that I no longer work with that i either want to keep in touch with or reconnect with. Tik tok isn’t even interacting with one another. It’s nothing more than just a bunch of random videos. And since so many young kids use it only explains why depression among young people is becoming a major issue. If people are gonna live in their own little world they will become lonely and isolated. I’m sure back when we were on a full non essential shutdown didn’t help either.
TikTok's algorithm is so dangerous and addictive that's why it's literally called "TikTok." They designed it purposely like that so you're hooked, you don't know what's the next thing you're gonna swipe up and see, but all social media feeds are designed like a slot machine (refreshing for example). It's sad that the kids are so addicted because they see it as fun but what it does to the brain long term is bad
@@OrganizationXIII Well then that's on them 🤷🏽♀️ not my problem. I know I can't change their mind. I've already left and I been doing so much better. I know social media will never go away, but like I said, it's up to those people to leave. They can decide to stay or leave.

UA-cam is like a true safe space for me. I know, I waste time here too but it's actually more productive to be here in UA-cam. Watching longer videos that explaining a certain topic is just better than a small tweet or tiktok or insta story. Also there is not so much negative energy here like in other platformes.
I deleted my twitter and Instagram last November 2020 and no one even noticed. Life lesson: nobody really care about you on social media as you think everybody is at the capacity you think they will go through for you. They have their own life which their prolly thinking 24/7. So if you think someone will miss you when you deleted all your accounts, chances are they're not & stop wt this FOMO mindset, you're missing out the real life honey.
In such a happy person now I read books I'm on a routine Focusing on my passion I always notice what happening in my world, my surrounding without social media I'm jealous of what people living their life I need to take care of my mental health I think Social Media is like MY-LIFE-IS-COOL-THAN-YOURS
My biggest issue with social media is that it distances you from real people in the real world. I noticed that when I deleted social media, I just craved having conversations with anyone, even strangers. While I'm on social media... I just feel unmotivated to talk/be social in real life.
Yes exactly!!! You get all your validation from social media so it's like what's the point of interacting with real people in real life? I got rid of social media 1-2 years ago for the same reason!!! And I noticed the same thing as you my friend. Your social skills improve in real life AND you start noticing more the people who are still addicted and lost in the social media paradigm! For example you see two people sitting next to each other in a downtown area and they're both glued to their devices. What kind of a world are we living in??? We should be interacting with each other in real life not using these phones as safety blankets!
I disabled my instagram for four months. Didn’t really think about it or have the urge to go back on there until I wanted to post a photo of myself. But during that time I felt so free and in touch with reality. Now that Ive reactivated my account Im literally irritated by it.

I was in Bangkok for 10 day. On the 2nd day I lost my phone in the back of a tuk tuk. I didn’t get a phone until I came back to the usa. It was the best two weeks of my life.
I think society Will be divided soon with People who use social media and People who don’t . It feels like a new trend starting with more and more People finding their way back to focus on more important stuff. Getting more grounded with life itself.
I've decided too take a year off social media idc if the females I used to simp over are with someone or if my friends don't text me that just means they were temporary I have to grind to better

Instagram is life-threatening, having to compare yourself to other humans with a higher perspective of followers. You want to be like them and it just kills motivation, I honestly had a different mindset when I’d step on that app. Then I realize again no being on this earth is better than the other, also numbers do not matter if you’re too focused on that you’d lower self-esteem.
Bro you’re right you make no memories on social media it just waste your time and never let’s you see the real world and make memories with your friends and family.thx for this ima delete social media and focus on school and other productive things that will better my life
I don't have social media either but .. when a guy asks for your instagram and you tell them you don't have one.. they immediately think your weird or a fake or something.. needless to say though I love not having social media, I just wish people could really see why some people choose not to have any socials .
people don’t care that much about it. if you just say it was a decision you made because you wanted to start actually living life rather than wasting my time on social media, i’m sure people would understand

I deleted twitter, instagram and snapchat 2 years ago and I feel so relieved to not rely on them for anything anymore. I only have Facebook to look at memes, but even then I've stopped myself from going on it for a couple months. @@MrNiel-ne9xf It really isn’t like social media though. It’s much easier to remain anonymous and you aren’t forced certain content on your feed. It’s also less toxic, and subscribing to people is completely different to following them. Everyone that subscribed to me on UA-cam will never see this comment I’m typing out right now, unlike Twitter for example where people who follow me can see everything I tweet or like. I’ve been using UA-cam forever and only have been using social media regularly for a year and UA-cam is so much better. Also, a few more things I want to mention. UA-cam doesn’t censor you as much as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Tiktok do. It has gotten a lot worse in recent years, but it is still better than those other apps. Plus, you are less susceptible to falling into group think and people hounding you because of an unpopular opinion you have.
I 1000% agree ! I’ve only had social media deleted for over a month now and my mental health has never been this great. I just graduated from highschool and I like you said have big dreams for myself. I decided to take the initiative and delete all socials and 100% commit to whatever I wanted to accomplish. When I tell you I literally had a shift in my mindset and became more productive. I told myself if this is what you want to do then I’m going all in. Its weird because when I had social media I thought I had “friends” but in reality they were just distractions. I haven’t spoke to any of those “friends” since. Which says a lot. I love the state that I’m in now and I will continue to work towards my dream.

I've deleted Facebook and instagram back in 2017 and I deleted twitter at the start of 2021 after realising it was time-consuming and counter productive because it was addictive and not to mention it was depressing on how I allow myself to be compared with other people lives and felt I was missing out when in reality they could be cherry picking the good bits of their lives while leaving out the bad.

Deleting social media was honestly one of the best decisions I could make. I used to waste so much time looking at snapchat stories and looking at instagram thirst traps but deleting those among with Facebook has given me a peace of mind.
holy shitttt “the fear of missing out” is something ive been struggling with in terms of social media and that’s exactly why i haven’t deleted anything But this video has answered that question for me
I've tried to delete all my social media several times, and failed all those times. After seeing this video I realize how much I need to focus on my own life like he said. I'm going on a camping trip with my cousin tomorrow for a couple of days and think this will be a great time to 100% commit to staying off social media.
I really love it how people are now deleting social media and appreciating the world around them. I wish I could've done the same when I was 13. I'm 19 now, learning more about the world around me and I'm so much happier without it. If I wanted to keep taking pictures, I'll do it on my phone, use Polaroid, Instax, and Fuji cameras instead. I want pictures that I can actually keep forever and look at it.

I deleted all my social media last weekend, Ive realized that I have so much time, I used to complain about school and that I don’t have time to do things, but the same day I deleted social media I was outside cycling 2 hours and explored music and listened to 3 albums which I loved.

And that's a great action from a very wise person.

Some things you will notice:
1) You realize you do not have as many friends as you may think. This is good, you wasted time with "fake" friends on a social platform.
2) You have more time to find a hobby
3) You will be more happy
4) You will not have drama, most drama starts on social media.
5) You will not need to put on an image for "likes"
6) You will find your real self
7) You will make more money, and not need to showboat
8) You will live a lowkey lifestyle
9) You will not fit in, its overrated anyway
10) You will be a better parent, husband/wife, bf/gf, son/daughter , etc.
11) If you are in school, your grades will improve
12) You will have more time to get in shape/workout. No pressure of the fake shit you can focus on YOU
Overall thats just some positive things I HAVE noticed.

Until now. Social media has ruined modern age dating
@@user-nv3sh5jh3p social media made women become more narcissistic. They have such overinflated egos from men constantly commenting on their pictures or messaging them telling them they are beautiful and constantly complimenting them, giving them constant validation. Women have an insatiable appetite for attention and validation from men and social media makes them think they are celebrities having their followers constantly praising their existence. Because of this women have crazy expectations of what they want in men that it's impossible to live up to their standards.
@@user-nv3sh5jh3p not as much as women but yeah. They have more access to seeing pictures of attractive women on Instagram or tiktok and gives them the same addiction as p**n does imo.
I wish I could have experienced my teens years and 20s in a time period where social media didn't exist.
Me too because that was the best time period honestly
“Don’t allow your past or present condition to control you. It’s just a process that you’re going through to get you to the next level.”

Broe I felt you when you said quitting social media made you stop inheriting other people's thoughts and start creating your own thoughts 🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️
If you aint making no money from any social media there’s no point having it.

not totally true. I have social media to share what I write and compose in piano. Artists have the need of sharing their creations. I don´t care about the money.
When you said that "You're only missing out on other people's lives" I felt that bro. True shit..
Here! Here! I haven't touched a paint brush cause of social media 😩
Yess it was so draining wasting my time on a app and comparing myself and just spending all my time on there
I totally relate. I’m religious actually but all the content both religious and spiritual was just too much for me to handle. Plus is was horrible to watch everyone argue other different ideologies.
yes exactly. there’s also so much negativity on that app
Honestly, if social media isn't going to end anytime soon, then it's up to us people to leave social media. Delete or deactivate your accounts.

it doesnt have to be a trend just do it
People are actually getting bored of it that's why mark Zuckerberg is creating a new Facebook so people will stay. Lol. Fvcking loser and greedy. He wants all the money in the world, he doesn't care about this generation..

I think Social Media is like MY-LIFE-IS-COOL-THAN-YOURS
Now that Ive reactivated my account Im literally irritated by it.

back to the good old days where people had less mental issues. There's definitely going to be a divide though.
i agree. I always questioned If instagram/snapchat was to be removed forever, would this be the end of social media?

Went through a breakup last August and deleted all my social medias right after the breakup. I was able to graduate my last semester of college, get my own place, and improved my gym lifestyle! in a matter of 5 months. Please get off social media!

Social media or social misery? Here’s my breakdown:
Pros:
New connections
Promotion of work
Staying in touch
Expressing one’s self
Cons:

Information overload
Unwanted desires
Sadness
FOMO
Jealousy
Expectations Not Met
Depression

UA-cam is still social lmfao

I just got home from an awesome week in south Florida with some friends. I checked my Instagram after and my first thought was “damn, I never do anything fun.” LIKE I FORGOT I WAS JUST ON A VACATION. Social media is dangerous.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” Please REPENT and Turn to God!
last year I decided to cut back heavily on social media and stop posting on some sites all together, and since then I’ve felt more “fresh” in the head. I was able to develop a new hobby with plants and read more books. I’ve also been able to do lots of self reflection, which I honestly don’t think i would’ve been able to do if I was still active on social media.
i did this cause my depression got worse and i was having thoughts and realized i have no friends… all my so called friends never gave a f about me lol. deleted everything and no one reached out to see what happened
LOL same i just realized shit i don't have friends
Same
I felt that maybe I was having too many expectations of others
Fun Fact: WE CAN BE FRIENDS

I deleted social media this February. It's been incredible but I realised how much it was masking my loneliness. This video was so reassuring. Thank you so much Jordan ❤️ xoxo
Im deleting one social media app every year and I realized i been wasting my time on all these toxic apps. Its hard at first but when you delete them you’ll get used to it and realize that you never needed them
This is a great video , Social Media has really taken hold of this generation and stopped them from achieving their own ambitions just because their looking for validation from others.
"Social media can be your greatest resource, but it can also be your greatest distraction" well said this is what people need to hear 🙏🏾 my last video I made was on this topic. Everyone should take a break from time to time to focus on theirselves and you will see a difference. Start putting your time and energy into things that will help you not hurt you
not a break just never download it ever again 😂
@@vfauni5764 Thats true bro that would be the best thing to do for yourself. If you arent making any money or educating yourself there is no reason to be on there. But a lot of people dont have that self discipline yet so you have to start somewhere. It can be hard to quit social media like that cold turkey when your so accustomed to consuming it unconsciously everyday for years and years

BINGO!!!! TAKE BREAKS!!!!
@@vfauni5764 A BREAK
I tried this for a good month and a half, and I assure you Jordan isn’t wrong. You aren’t missing out on anything and you do start to see your life changing for the better. Worried about your followers? The real friends will text you, and even if they can’t find your number they will ask around and will get your number. Don’t waste time on all those followers you might not even see in person one day. Stay the course!
Been off social media for 2 and a half years absolutely love it , people have no idea what I’m doing so when they see my irl they are always so shocked at the “ change “ better then a daily update on why my life is going “good” or ”bad”
Ok I got rid of all socials but now UA-cam is the beast. UA-cam is so much more addicting than anything on my phone.
Deleting these apps and accounts is the first, but easist step to take. The hard part is keeping yourself from downloading the app or creating a new account within the next few months. Most people fail at this part.
Yes! This is so good! I deleted my instagram and Facebook this year. I've been six moths without it and I am so excited to be more present in life. I quit alcohol, instagram, Facebook and I am moving into my van this year to travel and work in film and TV.
I just want to say, this is amazing.
@@IamCCash aw thank you!:)
Goodluck!
I deleted fb months ago and got rid of Instagram today! I’m glad I did , really don’t need them
SO PROUD!
