How I Survive Winter In My Off-Grid Tiny House🥶❄️
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 жов 2024
- In this video I explain how I live off the grid in my 14m2 tiny house during the winter in Scandinavia, Denmark. I explain how I harvest energy, water and also warm up my house when living off the grid. Also, I talk about why I have chosen live off-grid alone with my dog in the forest. And finally I show some pictures of the beautiful nature from the forests sorrounding my little off the grid homestead.

Your life is perfect! I am about to follow in your stead…about to move to off grid cottage in Vermont ( colder & snowier than Alaska ) with solar, no plumbing or running water… with only 1 neighbor anywhere near… by myself😜
I am 56 year old woman and have never lived anywhere but Ohio ( mediocre weather and everything else), am buying property sight unseen, will see on moving day… wish me luck!
Thank you - hope it can give you some inspiration! Good luck - sounds amazing! And welcome to the channel😊
Denise I just subscribed to your channel. Congratulations
I wish you luck, for sure - and hope you will live happily ever after.
Greetings from Denmark (the same country as Anders live in)
An update in Vermont? I did same thing but in Maine and boy we haven’t stoped! Went the shed to cabin route and have 3 more months before we move in

This is my heaven (esp if there were a running creek nearby)… 💫 I recently lived in a converted Astro van for almost 2 years out of necessity, and that was itself a lesson in self-reliance. I had to leave it for several reasons, but if I were younger and in better health, I would absolutely be in your shoes if I could. 💚🌟🌲
Beautiful photography and drone footage btw… So magical. 💫
Time is slow, a busy day, and yet it feels comfortable and contended ❤❤❤ this is life.
This is heaven ♥️❄️🙏🏽
Love & respect from Australia, your little house and set up is awesome, well done. X
Thanks Mandy☺️
Isn’t winter just so magical? The drone shot of the deer’s in the woods was beautiful.❤❤
Found your humble blog today and Im Thankful for that. You feed your birds around you - lucky creatures. Love mine here too:).
Thank you for following😊
Its so beautiful with the snow scenery. I love snow. Your video is so meaningful! ❤ Being a part of nature.
What a treat. I love the mixture of daily chores and stunning scenery. Such a beautiful video.
Thanks!!😊
Your filming skills are excellent, and your drone videos are absolutely amazing! the music is so beautiful and unique! Congratulations! 🖐Hi from the northeast in the USA.
Thank you so much😊Very glad that you like the style👏

Love it thanks for sharing
Love this life even when it comes with challenges
Beautiful you are truly blessed such a wonderful way of living enjoy take xare❤
Thanks, will do😊you too
A wind turbine is a must have item for power augmentation especially for living off grid. They work in the worst weather conditions and when conditions are at their worst, you know the wind is blowing. I hope you get your wind mill up and running sooner than later. Good Luck!
Thanks for the feedback👏I have some fairly high trees to the north were I get the most strong winds from - maybe I’ll cut the top of one of these a place a windmill on top of it😄
It isn't a must. It's a nice to have. Don't be so sure of your opinions or think everyone needs to hear them.
This is how I dream to live
Depends where you are. There is surprisingly little wind in some places in the winter. I wouldn’t say that they are “a must,” but can sometimes complement solar and hydro.
@@andersboisentinyhouse you’re in the safest part of the world because the rest of the world and urination is in war. You stay there and you take care of yourself.✝️
Some really beautiful shots in this one. You should be proud of yourself. Fabulous and so peaceful. Merry Christmas :)
Great video ! Beautiful little cabin :) Being with mother nature it can't get any better than that, Simple works if your ok with a little work & this young man is at peace with himself, God bless from Canada.
Agree! It’s the work that makes it all worth it! And thank you so much😊
Very beautiful and peaceful Video. Thanks for sharing.God bless.
Thank you so much - very glad you liked it!!
Subscribed. Nice video. You have very calm voice. From Scotland.
AWESOME MAN ....SPECTACULAR DRONE SHOTS ...
Thanks!!😊👌
Beautiful. Lovely way to live. Thanks for letting us into your home. Tak!
Nice set up & off grid home. I do almost the same thing for a shower, 12v pump & its all some water prep etc.
I'm not anti wind turbine but they are certainly not a solve all to off grid power. Be prepared for a bunch of maintenance & sporadic performance.
Beautiful home & natural forest scenery. So serene with the animals running. ❤👍🏻🙋🏼♀️🇺🇸
Drooling here. I recently invested in a portable solar panel, and a Jackery charger for my rechargeable lighting. I am ongrid but I'm trying to use as little ongrid power as possible. I can charge my phone, cell and the lights from the Jackery that charges from the solar panel. I have non electric cooking options as well. My place is a rental so no gardening here, I love your set up.
Those LED lamps are lovely! Thank you for sharing your home and some of your life with us. Peaceful music too.
Great to see your tiny Homestead in the snow. I really love the Drone shots as well as the contrast between inside living and being in the outdoors. Great video. I look forward to the next one!
Thank you very much!!😊Glad you enjoyed it👏
Super. Mnogo lepo . svaka čast. To je život
I live likevthis and. I love it
I’ve heard that if you put a big metal sheet behind the stove it will help to keep the place warmer
New subscriber here. Like you, I would love to live off grid in terms of energy. I am retired and my husband will soon retire too. We will then be solely reliant on our pensions and little savings. Electricity bill eat up a larger bulk of our household maintenance as we need to run our aircon units to stay cool in our rooms. Summer is too hot in my country. I wish solar panels and batteries will soon be cheaper here. For now, those are with acquisition cost that almost prohibit anyone to harness the sun's potential here. Thank you for sharing your off grid life experience. It inspires others. It is an immense blessing to live amidst such a picturesque homestead.
So Beautiful 😍😍, it's A great cabin for you n your dog 🐶🐕, tysm for sharing this video, much respect n God Bless you
You’re welcome😊
Such a nice life. Lots of work, but so satisfying. You've done so well. And, no offense, you're a very, very handsome man :)
Thank you for a lovely video. Your Christmas looks very special.
Very calm, cozy and relaxing video!
I enjoyed it a lot, thanks from Eastern Canada
Thank you too😊
This was exactly what I wanted to see and hear. I live in small town and I like it but I still dream to live farther in the woods in the quiet.
Very happy to hear that - I hope you got some inspiration then☺️
Maybe your neighbors will be happy
Love the aerial shots of the deer. It’s surprising how different the snow makes everything look! The whole landscape is changed, the cloak of winter shrouds the landscape we once recognised. The silence is deafening, broken only by the sound of the birds as they chatter to each other to tell of the feast that awaits them at your bird table! ❤
Hi❤ your tiny house is beautiful I love your life and I love your angel dog 🐕 I wish for you happiness ❤
Thank you, that’s very kind of you!!😊
Congratulations on a life well lived.
Nothing worse than regret.
Thanks!! Indeed!😊👌
I'm also off-grid in a mountainous area at 6840 feet. The one item I have which is slightly unusual is a solar collector which uses glycol to heat water. Otherwise, it's all pretty standard: solar panels for electricity, wood stoves for heat, a well for water, etc. I have no gas appliances of any kind in the house.
Wow, sounds like the perfect location for an off-grid cabin in terms of view and sunlight😊It’s a little flat here in Denmark with absolute no mountains😅
I’ve always admired and envied this style of living but many things I don’t understand. For example do you need to pay rent on the land where your home is? Do you not have any weekly income or do you still work and how do you survive if not? How do you get permission to put your cabin in the woods. I’ve asked these questions a few times but nobody ever answers me. I wish I knew how people are able to give their jobs up and just do it. What if you have a vet bill or something like that.
@@EnglishroserebeccaPurchase the land and build the tiny home with cash if possible. You need to do some research on the land you will purchase to ensure your plans align with any zoning laws and building permits. You still need income, albeit less than today’s standards of living.
@@LeeLiko thank you for the info 🙏
I'm from PA and live in a city that is consistently in the top 10 snowiest cities in America. I've done a LOT of winter camping. These vids are very captivating. They are soothing, and warm with a sense of calm and serenity. But there are harsh realities that go with this lifestyle, from simple to complex. You're snuggled in bed with a raging snowstorm outside. It's 3 AM and you have to pee. That means you have to leave your comfy bed, put on gear and trudge to the outhouse. When you get back, you're covered in snow, the fire is almost out so you have to restoke it. Now you're wide awake. You're out splitting kindling for the next fire and you miss the wood with your hatchet and almost take your finger off. (Actually happened to my buddy). You are miles from a hospital and all you got is a simple first aid kit. Do you risk bleeding to death, or do you make that long journey back into town? I think you get the picture. I love this lifestyle but it's not all picture postcard type of living.
I live year round in a log cabin in a forest in the Sierras not far from Lake Tahoe, Calif/Nev. Once I get on the main road it's 30 minutes to the closest grocery store. Our average annual snowfall is over 33 feet. Winter before last was over 70 feet and last year was near 50. So yeah I can relate. I'm sure what he isnt' saying is he doesnt walk outside to the outhouse at night when it's extreme weather. Hello, some kind of chamber pot.
Being an older single female who shovels all that snow herself, you either learn to be prepared so you're not doing dangerous stuff at night, like chopping kindling, or you wont make it very long. I love living in my cabin and after 10 years I've found that being well prepared and calm about it makes for the most satisfying journey through life. It certainly isn't for everyone but for me, it's heaven. You are exactly right about being realistic when it comes to illness and accidents. Have a plan and the safest bet is stay in bed til morning, haha.
The Danes know whats up in this world. Good job
6:19 🤩 WOW. THANK YOU 🙏 FROM THE STATE OF WASHINGTON. BODER OF CANADA 🇨🇦 AND USA 🇺🇸
You’re welcome😊
Nice video, but the music is loud. Love from Philippines
Real hygge happiness. Love it Danish😀
😊🇩🇰
Such a cute fireplace… where did you find this? Thank you 🙏
It’s called Orland Stove and is a Danish product😊
Good video. Maybe put your water tank on skids with wheels to make it easier on your back. Also, how do you keep your tank from freezing?
Great tip, thanks! And the small shed is actually insulated. Also, the tank keeps the little room somewhat heated with all itso mass
Cool shot of the Caribou! Do you eat them?
Such balance! Work is hard, but the pace is without pressure. Necessary tasks are balanced with beauty and pleasure. Your dog knows this is the way life should be.
Aussie here. I see your queen consort in the photo. Nice!
Well, actually the picture is of our recent queen Magrethe who was the actual queen and not the queen consort. Her late husband really wanted to be a king consort of sorts, but was not permitted. But our new queen Mary (from Tasmania❤️) is the queen consort to our new King Frederik😊
But honestly I don’t know if we even use the “consort”-title in our royal family even though they are related to the British royal family.
With A 3 horse power motor an Delco Remy alternator 90 Amp hooked together with a belt and frame ..you can charge batteries quick
Thanks for the tip😊👌
Was that a herd of deer I saw, great drone shots. The cabin is cozy. You have a fantastic setup and setting there.
Yes, There are a lot of deer out here, it’s amazing! These were filmed not more than a mile from my tiny house😀Thanks a lot😊
A woman in the mix of these videos would be very exceptional. Great job
This guy is literally living my dream life 🥹😭
i enjoy. So relaxing. Thanks for not being annoying
There is an alternative school of thought to water storage. The idea is store big water dirty. Clean the water as it get closer to its end use. That way you are inly cleaning and filtering things on the appropriate scale for their intended use. For isntance it easier to clean a bucket than a barrel
Interesting method👌Thanks for sharing😊
Lovely work. Very pleased to subscribe. Onward, my friend.
Thank you😊
Good luck there. I am old woman from Finland.
7 years offgrid
Hi from scotland i relly engoyed your vid best of luck
Great to hear - and thank you so much!
I enjoyed your video and Content.
Looking forward to more.
Yeah, harvesting energy is a chore. One year just to see what it was like, I cut our years wood with a double bit axe, 21 inch bow saw and a 48 inch bucking saw. Joy oh joy... not!
I enjoy discovering your channel and learning about your lifestyle. I’m very envious, wish I could do that. Your videos, especially the drone videos, are majestic. I also really like the music you choose to accompany the videos. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much - very kind of you!😊☀️
I live in Ontario Canada. My brother-in - law was from Skive Denmark is name was Joseph Jensen. HE got my drunk Aquavit. I was two days getting over that drunk. Great video you keep making them and I well keep watching them. And I will give you a thumbs up each time.
LOVE Watching your vdieos!
Thank you for showing the realities of living in a climate where winter is very real. Too often people who do not experience this really have no idea. You can die without proper heat in winter. And if you want to live off the land it includes food that's not from plants (which do not grow in winter).
I live in Canada (in a place with particularly long harsh winters)
I especially love seeing the one with you preparing a meal with fresh hunted game.
It is natural for us who want to be off-grid and to be more connected to nature to eat what is available in nature which means to hunt and eat meat especially to survive the winter.
Anyway, I love your videos. Thank you for sharing.
~Jj
Thanks!! Really appreciate it😊
Just found your channel. So peaceful and so well done. Did I miss a video where you added on to your home?
Thank you so much😊And no, you didn’t. It was too miserable a november weather to make a real movie out of the proces. But put a reel up on Instagram with a short film of the proces though😊instagram.com/reel/C0PR0HkMlhQ/?igsh=dzFkdGFidnkzNWlp
The year elvis died i went to cloud peak wilderness area in the bighorns. Dog and two horses fore company stayed six months. Just home from nam needed some time to unwind so to speak.
Sounds so beautiful! I bet it was a year many where can remember what they did and where they were😊
i think your dog needs a friend to play with, maybe a cat 😺
I don’t think that the cat thinks so… we should ask the cat first😅
Awesome video, thanks! If I were much younger I would live like you! 🤩😍
My husband and I are 73yrs and 80yrs. We still live this way, with a large veg garden, firewood, chickens and dairy goats. We always buy in bulk so we only shop twice each year. It's a hard but very satisfying life. Will hopefully keep going until we drop. 😊
Beautiful well made video. You are very talented. I really enjoyed watching it.
Thank you so much - I'm really glad you enjoyed it! ;)
Maybe some runners/old ski’s on the bottom of that water collection tank?! Make it pull and slide back in easier?
Thanks!! Nice tip!!
Love the tiny house. Great video You live in a beautiful place. Keeping the wood stove going is a job in itself. Love the bird feeder
Love that tea kettle! What brand is it?
Nevermind. Found it on Amazon
How big is your property and how much you Pay for it approx?
It’s 1660m2 and I paid 160.000 DKK for it three years ago😊
I am just curious, there’s no cats or any other “strays” around the area?
Not really😊
Beautiful video
Hi from USA
Thanks☺️
Just stumbled upon your channel, pure bliss to watch the shots of nature.
Thanks!!😊
Respect and wonder, when we see how much God provides or CAN provide for us from nature, if we decide to live less comfortably
3 minutes for a shower is not long enough for me 😁 I couldn't even wash my hair in such a short time 😂
I have a gas califont and a water pump which is solar powered.
The view from my shower is wonderful. Across the trees and fields to the ocean.
Sounds like a really wonderful shower👏😊
@@andersboisentinyhouseyes, I love it ❤
Glædelig jul 🎄💚
Meget inspirerende!
Skøn video
Well done my friend, you have a new subscriber!!! Joe from New York.
Thank you Joe, I love NY👏😊
Option 1: Work for a company who decides what your time is worth, pays you money that you need to pay tax on to buy the food you need (an pay sales tax on).
Option 2: Work for yourself to grow the food you need & build the structures you need.
You still need to work but all the time you put in has a direct benefit on your quality of life. Its a lot more efficient use of time I think.
I agree. And also very meaningful to experience to connection to the land and your food - can’t buy that for any salary
Hi you are so lucky to be with nature and away from this awful people
I think I Will do something 🤗☘️good luck and hugs
Heidi
You have a beautiful home and property . ❤️
Thank you so much😊
Not very healthy to sleep above those batteries!!! Research a little...
Best wishes!
It depends on the type of batteries - these are totally fine for indoor use👌It’s the old types that emmit gasses that are problematic.
This is not an every man's type of living, respect young man !
Most relaxing feel good living off grid channel ive seen. Congratulations on living freely ❤
Très belle vidéo ! Bonne continuation 👍
Thank you so much!😊
I have many questions..ok just watched your other videos which answered most of them. Thank you!!!

OMG I love this life so much, I wish I could live the life like you soon
🤞
Beautiful videography.
Thanks😊
Nothing unusual. Normal life. I did this many times in my life before, in Far East of Russia.
Go jul til dig. Jeg glæder mig til at følge med næste år
Try Archimedes wind turbine 400% more efficiency than normal wind turbine.
Why in the world don't you have some items that would make your life so much easier??? Like a propane stove??? No electric required. Or a 9volt propane water heater??? Or a propane full cookstove oven and all??? No electric required for that either??? You're living like a caveman. And you don't have to live that way at all. We homesteaded and we lived just like everyone else. You can even have a commode as well, no Johnny house required. Toilets do run off electricity you know. A couple simple modifications and you'd be watching t.v. and movies and living the good life. No need to live like you are. You can even have a working Refrigerator. Or a microwave. We sure didn't live like you are. There is a ton of stuff out there now days. Why????????? I went ahead and liked subbed and notified. Need advice I'll be happy to help you of course. Peace.
First time I see one of your films and I totally loved it! The winter where you live is magical, beautiful sceneries love the animals and the music you add it! Awesome way to live, and your dog is very cute! ❤️
I subscribed the first shot of the dog❤❤❤ he was so comfortable, every shot the dog was in he looked so comfortable and content Thank you sir for seeing to that and bringing me into your world and on this journey with you!
