Commenting for the algorithm. I hadn't even seen mumbo's vid on this but I really like the fact that you put so much effort into designing this on your own and showing us your results.
@@Borkon Hey, I faced a problem with the first design you showcased. I added a second slime block contraption on the opposite end of the ice to continuously bounce the items back and forth. The items go across on the ice back and forth, but sometimes the slime block is still extended and the items travelling hit it dead on, which cancels their velocity entirely. I was wondering if you faced this problem, or if you could help me out with this - it's a big issue for me as my buddies and I use our gold farm a ton on our server. Thanks
@@fishiefish5493 Oh. Not sure if that can be made to work. Even looping the items so that they end up in front of the piston where they drop from a farm is extremely hard to get right, I don't think bouncing them back and forth would work. You'd have to detect when the bounce back happens and send a signal to the first piston to not extend, but I'm not sure this could be done fast enough. My best advice would be to extend the storage system to handle the farm (by adding twists and turns to the ice) and add lava at the end to just destroy everything that doesn't fit.
@@Borkon Haha, you read my mind. You mentioned something about looping the system, and that's exactly what I'm doing. The pistons fire and the items loop in a circle, and the they end up back where they begin. To prevent the item velocity killing, I rely on more items being generated to loop the items once again. This may not be the perfect system and it may have some loss, but after all it is the nether and gold farms are quite efficient. Nonetheless Borkon, keep up the good work.
Thanks for this video :D been playing this game for over 10 years now and it never stops to amaze me what people are able to create with the somewhat limited tools Minecraft gives us. I just recently got into item sorters, shulker loaders and redstone as a whole. Literally built my first item sorter a few weeks ago nervously trying to follow the most simple tutorial i could find step by step. Now im watching this at 4am and im actually understanding (almost😅) everything. That is also thanks to your awesome video tho. Gonna try to finnaly add a sufficient item collection system to my farms :D
I still need to publish a wither skeleton farm design that I have around this thing. Still not perfected enough for a guide, but the loot system on it is pretty awesome. I kill them inside the loot system, no droppers with loot at all. If you look at my let's play series when I built the wither skeleton farm that could give you some ideas.
Such a great and criminally underrated video. Thanks for your guide ❤️ Also thanks for explaining the basics instead of jumping straight to the high capacity sorter. I learned a lot

Nice contraption! GG Borkon! You might take a look at Gnembon's collection system for his gold farm. It uses hopper carts, but his configuration is pretty interesting. This is a brand new approach for solving the problem. My biggest problem is my wither skeleton farm where I have to deal with all the unstackable swords that clog my hoppers. I am sorting them out, but they are still a pain.
I have a plan for a new version of this video, but where I'll talk about how I dealt with wither skeletons, gold and piglins. I have shown off all those in my let's play series, just haven't gotten around making guide/showcase videos for them yet. And to be honest, the wither skeleton looting version of this system isn't amazing yet. The gold farm one is pretty great though.
For the double speed sorter you don’t need 5 stacks of items in the bottom hopper, you only need 1, just fill the rest 4 with scraps like you do with the top hopper, but use a different kind of scrap
How do you get bartering loot into it? I did some experiments and found that I can just have the piglins stand in the soul sand and stairs without any problems.
@@Borkon I set up some droppers into cobwebs using a tileable dropper clock and just lined them up over the conveyor, surrounded it in glass, works great.

I have a gold farm that overflows with items, so I decided that a piston feed tape would help get rid of unwanted items by throwing them onto a cactus via a hole. The hole in the feed tape is a fence gate. I put about 5 hours of work into figuring out a compact way to make it in a way that suits me. I couldn't find anything on youtube that shows how to make this I'm using a gold farm design that I saw Wattles build (based on a design by Rays Works I believe) and edited that design to use 3 hoppers, which by all means is faster than one, but way slower than needed for all the drops. This causes way too much lag. So I set up a small piston feed tape that goes around halfway every time it receives a redstone input (there are 2 fence gate holes in the whole tape), and set an Etho hopper clock to activate it occasionally. The feed tape system I built consists of: - The feed tape itself (built similarly to the one shown in this vid) - A hopper clock - A manual activator note block just in case - Redstone blocks in the feed tape to activate redstone that stops the system - And slabs as the floor of the zombified piglin kill chamber (hopper collection system directly below) Now I have that built into the gold farm and it's working so very nicely.

I just made a sculk farm which uses a zombie pigmen farm for sculk charge. It generates 22k sculk blocks per hour as well as all of the zombie pigmen drops. Then there's the modules for veins and sensors/shriekers. Sensors and shriekers are slow to farm as they need a lot of charge per block, but the veins come faster than the sculk. So that's 6 items, 4 of which come in insanely fast. I was intending on using a hopper minecart breaker/unloader to transfer the items to a sorter, but then how I do sort all of those items quickly? I think you have answered my question. Great build. I'll let you know if it solves my current issue. Thanks for this.
