😮 damn what a mess I just did the alternator on my 2013 Chrysler 200 4 cylinder and that was Boston cream pie I wouldn't even have attempted that one😅😅
⚡🎯😎☕ I think the preferred method for replacing alternator on that unit is ,,, Attach vehicle securely to big tree, Attach chain to alternator and other end of chain to a decent size 4x4 , low range and yank alternator out, then replace vehicle😂😂😂☕ An even quicker method ,, "Remove radiator cap,,, keep. Then drive a new car under the radiator cap"😁
Wow, that's a few other parts to get to that alternator. I have a Ford explorer 05, and it's basically only the tensioner and belt , mounting bolts and connectors, 10 minutes. But, great video in case I ever need to, 😢
Engineers should be criminally charged for making something so simple so freegin dumb. If this is your way (which I approve of)... What's the official way? Pull the bumper, radiator, half shaft, fender....?
Wow! Turns out that it's very simple. Disconnect battery, remove belt, disconnect wiring, unbolt the alternator, and remove. For installation, reverse procedure! That's hilarious 🤣 Mitchell can be a little vague sometimes. I have dropped them out the bottom before. After removing the ac pump and a bunch of screwing around. But I prefer this method. Wasn't too bad.
Yeah I had a Chilton's manual that said to remove a heater core was literally 4 steps and reverse to install. i had my suspension it was way too easy when it did not mention removing the dash. I was right and wasn't willing to remove the dash. So I used a dremal to cut through the firewall 😂 Worked great! Just had to put 10 ft of heater hose in because i busted the tubes off to get it out and had to put it in backwards to get the copper tubes past the intake! (Car had 230,000 on it... Functional was all i cared about!)... But my question is, why couldn't they have designed it to remove it from the firewall side 🤦🤷
@f.k.b.16 🤣 That's awesome! Sounds like something I would do.🤣 Whatever works! I guess because it's cheaper to go with no panel. And maybe they thought the car wasn't going to outlast it's heater core.🤣 Good job, man!🍻
Hi Tom, Subscribed yesterday, love the voice overs, and homemade tooling. Really enjoyed the Sanre Fe alt video. I can relate as I had a 3.5 in a 2012 Sante Fe. Never found lots of room LOL. Never thought about the ratchet strap what a great idea man!!!!!! I'm a field mechanic so kudos for the coveralls and no cushy lifts in a full blown shop. Keep up the tooling and humor man.
The voice over are hilarious it like AvE’s long lost twin brother
I'd enjoy listening to a conversation between those two, ehhh
You sound like AvE. I’m convinced you are his brother
I get that from time to time. My brother from another mother!... Probably different Dad too.🤣
The way they build the new vehicles is criminal. That should be accessible.
For some reason the voice over parts remind me of the black and white story time skits from the red green show😊
Oh yeah,🤔 I can see that. 😆
Hell yeah
If loving Rock Auto is wrong, I don't want to be right.
How many magnets?🤣
@@GoldWrenching Enough to shield the hydro grid from the next solar storm.
At least we get to see someone else than your mug!
Ha ha, there'll be some more of that coming soon.😉 Have a good one!🍻
Tom, you seem like a cool guy. Too bad you can't relocate to Texas but you'd probably melt here. Now take off you hoser!
All to replace an alternator??? Ugh!!! 😣😩 I prefer my old square body Chevy!!! 👍🏻❤️🇺🇲
Is she tryimg to copy your chops with that haircut! 😂 jk
Often imitated, never duplicated!😉🤣🍻

Thanks! And yeah, it's a little more work than a guy would want to do to change an alternator, for sure. Thanks for watching!

Good question. I never looked it up!🤣 let me get back to you on that one.
