Voxel Doom ⭐ 3D Sprites in DOOM

- Despite DOOM being almost 30 years old, there's still a huge modding community, and it's one of the most modded games of all time. One of the long-awaited features is voxel support, volumetric pixels. That means, replacing 2D sprites with 3D pixel models to give the game a new dimension of depth without losing the original look.
There have been several attempts to bring voxel models to DOOM in the past, but Voxel Doom is a GZDoom mod done by Cheello, which replaces all characters, weapons, items and props with a 3D voxel representation of the original artwork. It's so faithfully done that you won't even notice a difference from the distance.

It's nice, you can't really tell they are 3D until you get close
That's the beauty of this mod. It feels like normal Doom but with the blanks filled in

I can't get over how fucking cool voxel DOOM is, it's like the version of DOOM I saw in my mind as a kid while playing it finally made real.
Best Doom mod of all time, for twenty five years I have dreamed of such a thing.

In cyber demon part you could have used freeze console command at the different moments - like when bfg ball is flying and when it has just hit cyber demon and then walked around to show us same frame from different angles.
i love how the pink fellows look closeup with this mod, like their popping out of the screen for me

Brutal Doom has a ton of custom animation frames. Voxel Doom has a 3D model for _each_ frame (unlike other 3D mods where it's usually one model with multiple animations), which means BD compatibility would require a lot of work.
@@kyanoang3l0_old true , but if one day it will come to do so , it only applies to objects for both use and decoration and the weapons that said version possesses

you might wanna check out the guy that made the voxels, Cheello. hes already released doom 1 voxels. hes making doom 2 voxels and the weapon hand animations.
