A bunch of new information, content, footage, and more has been discovered from id Software's cancelled DOOM 4 project, including a full explanation of the games story. Absolutely crazy stuff.
Valve News Network (VNN) is now Tyler McVicker, the Passionate Gamer.
#DOOM4 #DOOM #DOOM2016
I like how this got cancelled for being "bad" but so much of what I see looks like it was reused for Doom 2016, which turned out great. Although I have to admit, this doesn't feel like a "mainstory" Doom game, this kind of feels like what ODST was to Halo. Cool concept.
yeah had same thoughts here bud. Crazy how development process can be so tough and lengthy. Like they had a general concept of a game's design and look ready long ago before 2016, but couldn't put it together into a game. Thanks to current team for making Doom2016 amazing game it is, but dude, I wouldn't mind to see Doom ODST - if only it wasn't that tough to work with such a big Name:)
this game had a lot of good ideas that end in the 2016 game, but if this would be the Doom4, the saga would died that day.
@@anhngango wasn't doom 3 already doom odst
@@emilianozamora399 Not gonna lie I wouldn't mind them re-tooling the original Doom 4 into an interquel where you are with the ARC Resistance on Earth, and then like at the end Doom Guy shows up to help you kill the final boss or something
Because the earlier footage was from an earlier build of 2016 the only pre reboot footage was the multiplayer slice and a bit at the end. You can differentiate between them by the gameplay. ADS and hitmatkers? That's Doom 4. Flashing enemies no ADS? That's post reboot 2016 but what exactly they wanted to do with it may not have been clear at that point in development
This concept would make a good spin-off game showing the demon invasion from the perspective of a normal soldier instead of the Doom Slayer.
I missed horror elements from 1993 Doom in newer games. Sure, it was an action packed game with metal tunes but sometimes you had to go deep into dark rooms filled with zombies and imps and then you had to overcome your fear and just say “bring it on, I’m not scared of you” really stuck in my head since I was a kid.
Yep I think if you weren’t there for it, the mind blowing fidelity of doom kinda doesn’t hit people that only know 93 doom as history. We had never seen darkness like that, creatures growling down some darkened hallway…flashing lights…the gore….the satanic imagery….it was pulse pounding with a metal track, and brooding and isolated when some of those darker midi tracks kicked in.
@@sealboy1211 That atmosphere from 1993 can never be copied. Although I must admit, I absolutely adore the PSX1 port and Doom64.
@@Quarantineism oh yeaaa, psx doom got a full playthrough from me. I loved how it really leaned into the horror, and the colored lighting made the whole thing fresh to me.
You said it, as a kid. We are conditioned to much worse and much more since. Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal definitely have similar parts like those you explained, where you say oh shit and frantically try to stay alive, especially if you dial up the difficulty. Same way the older games could also have those areas seen as small arenas were you would blast your way through. There was no horror element other than the setting, same as now. It was an action packed game in a cyberdemonic "horror-like" setting, same as it is now.
The only difference now is that, as a continuation to all this, the protagonist feels more badass, as a form of evolution. This is the only difference in approach I would say. You used to feel like a lost solider. Now you are a demigod that is feared. And that there is a character ark that also ties to the lore.
Two words: Doom 3.
i actually love that triangle menu. it is very unique. i actually really feel this could have been better than the actual menu we got. i wish there was a way to combine both ideas.
the actual menu is bad
In the end consumerism won. Expect more and more dumbed down variants of this game. Doom1/2 still stand strong. On the contrary 20 years from now no one will remember nuDoom (with occasionally fans).
Those are some of the most insanely cool menus I’ve ever seen. If I saw that when firing up that game I’d just be in awe. The final menus are just menus
@Super Incel Guy And just the OG Xbox UI in general, def like it a lot lol
@Vlad Eughen Doom Eternal reinvented a new fps sub genre, 2016 might not be as remembered but eternal is eternal.
3:26 sneaky little inverted cross built into the 4.
i don think that was intentional
@@itchywuss3511 neither were my low crossed t(s) when I was younger, I thought they looked cool and still do. Easier to ride the writing line for my muscle memory, than to write as schools tried to teach.

@@karcistvahlae1207 Yeah overthrowing God with places of church and vices to forsake one's body for unholy gratification is too widespread a norm it's crazy.

Now this...would have been interesting. Still happy we got the kickass reboots instead.
Yes
Superior graphics. Gameplay dumbed down.
They are not reboots...
2016 went pretty hard and didn't stray to far from core Doom. Eternal felt like I was playing a slot machine at the casino with someone next to me using power tools and banging trash can lids in my ear everytime I had a spin.
If I'm not mistaken, you're on AnoASMR's comment section right?
crazy to imagine a world where this basically duke nukem forevered Doom
I'd like to see a Doom game played by a regular human marine, the demons are super powerful compared to you, making it more of a horror survival game as you can die a lot more quickly, but still with a lot of action.
Probably more of a spinoff idea than anything, but imagine fighting in the wars on Earth during the invasion, and witnessing the battle of those giant mechs you see in the background in Eternal.
Doom3 is the best doom game
@@SpannerManna Outside the original of course. Doom 3 was the definitive.

look up hideous destructor. it turns doom into a tactical shooter. You're a normal ass marine against the demonic hordes.
There's a lot more of Doom 2016 in there than I expected, at least in terms of creature design
This should have been made as a game between 2016 and Eternal, on Earth during the invasion... Have it end with Doomguy showing up with that prayer from the intro...
Exactly!
Doomguy doing rorschach narration is basically that Civvie gag from the Doom 64 video
Wouldn’t mind this being a spin-off not gonna lie. Would love to see multiversal takes on Doom!
Doom crosses paths with the walking dead!👍👌
Same here! Hell, this is a great concept for a PROPER Doom film as a whole.
As a spinoff for doom series it can introduce characters that can be later used in main game of doom lore. It can have the freedom of being horror shooter where the player is just a marine not some demon killing demi God . I feel like Id should try this once
DOOM can be anything, really!
@@ChristianProtossDragoon totally agree
edgelords when a FPS game isn't dark, gritty, obscure, "Clive Barker inspired" and atmospheric like the limbo (it's automatically garbage).
@@DrundeFPS bro a spin-off for doom is going to be gritty something along the lines of doom 3. Because it makes the most sense. Plus I'm all for doom embracing different tone . But again as the leaked name of the upcoming doom says "dark ages" (which is a prequel to events of Doom eternal and 2016) I'd bet that they're already going for a darker gritty more narrative less gameplay type stuff.
@@JayKumar-zs8zl DOOM the dark ages isn't going to be "dark" because of the name, after DOOM Eternal cartoony art style you have hope? dark atmosphere won't make the game good.
Even waaaay before this, when we just knew it was Call of Duty meets Doom, I always defended that it could be a good spin off in the future, revive the project. But now? Now I desperately want this! This looks really, really freaking good!
As much a DOOM now is a great game. I think this was a missed opporunity.
@@user-jr2ue9nu6y Missed opportunity? No. Thank god they scrapped this. What we got is on a whole new level. This is a pale shadow of the actual Doom that dropped. For once the developer hit the nail on the head for what Doom should have been, and scrapped this. Thank god. This can be a spin off or another game. This was primarily the reason Doom 3 was "hated" by many. It was more of a slow paced horror game. And I agree. Although I enjoyed and loved Doom 3, it was not Doom. Again, felt like a spin off. Thank god they woke up and didn't follow down the same route as Doom 3 started with Doom 4, and kept the cool ideas and made something new.
This should really be a spin off series, Doom Marines perhaps, or something. A story of the corps and how they handled themselves in this war with hell. Perhaps even as a precursor to the Doom and Doom Eternal we got. Or complete spin offs were we are not the Doom Guy, just like Doom 3. Its really a different game.
Me loving games I would say I would definitely want to play this too. But if we are to have either this or the Doom we got? No thank you. Not a missed opportunity at all.
@@DCFHazardRebornChannel it's a different flavor of awesome. thank god we got the doom we got, but this shouldn't go to waste either.
@@weenis7269 could be a nice spin off, for sure. Personally I enjoyed Doom 3 A LOT as well. Would I have preferred it more action based like the new ones? Sure. But I will take what I can get and I immersed myself regardless into the spooky horror world they created. It was an amazing game. I think that style should spawn a range of spin offs but in no way take the place of the normal Doom line.
Perhaps something like Doom: Marine Corp or something. Humans trying to fend off the impossible and build into that direction. Maybe the end to those could be the Dooms we got, when the Slayer comes and finally takes care of business :D
@@DCFHazardRebornChannel YES THIS! EXACTLY THIS! This is how I always saw DOOM 3 as well, it's not the Doomslayer, but rather just some normal marine just doing his job in all of this, and I honestly want more of that. I never understood the debate between DOOM 3 and the classics, it's like...why can't we have both?
DOOM is the perfect place for this kind of thing. Playing as Doomguy gives you that feeling of power, being the only thing the demons fear. But that power is kind of meaningless unless you actually show the demons as being quite the force to be reckoned with (as they should). What better way than to make a few action horror games with you as the grunts in all of this doing everything you can to just merely survive.
It's always fun to look at the cancelled vision for a game's sequel. I like to imagine there is an alternate timeline out there where the scrapped version of the game was the one that got released instead.
Glad I’m in this dimension.
Concept art gives marathon vibes
shit and outdated FPS game made by Halo developers, no wonder it failed so hard.
Looks very generic for the genre and time period, glad they went back to form in Eternal
So some models like the elite guards are from the original version. Same for Pinky's it looks like.
I like this version, with it was playable but I like the modern one way more.
8:45 looks and feels like something from a condemned game. It would be really interesting to see this game come back as something else either tied to or loosely based around doom
First one is pretty underrated IMO, I liked the 2nd too but it could have been better, I actually kinda liked the need for alcohol to steady his aim because of withdrawals because it's the reality of alcoholism and drinking is taken way to lightly IMO. I wasn't a heavy drinker most my 20's but 8-10 drinks a day 2-3 days a week, just 'moderate' enough I had no problem going 3 days without it. But a few times I'd drink 10 drinks a day for 3-4 months then when I'd stop I couldn't sleep a minute for 3 nights(and would even manage to hold a job during that, def a functional alcoholic never did need rehab), which is why I'd figure I was doing alright keeping it down to 2-3 days per week with 3 consecutive days off here and there. I'd stop only for a week after daily for a few months, but after the 3rd time doing that I noticed the withdrawals were worse then realized they get worse each time so stopped doing that, but then it gets to a point where all it takes is a couple weeks of daily drinking, so I finally took a month off not long after turning 30(37 now) and happened to give up adult content several months before then and accidentally did nofap for 5 months lol, so just kept it going.
Looking back I realize nofap was a big factor in feeling shockingly better too after a month of no alcohol, I don't have a drop of alcohol for months at a time usually but don't have a problem having alcohol and getting drunk once in a blue moon so relapsing isn't an issue for me luckily. I highly prefer kratom anyway, between adult content and kratom, they killed my libido so much at the time that's why I accidentally did nofap. I just hope the DEA doesn't ban that, looks like they could ban HRT not that I need it. That's different than kratom though, I think for kratom it's largely due to it being natural unlike testosterone so it's harder for them to ban and also to find a way to patent and control it. It's such bullshit though that women/girls(as in minors) can easily get the pill(which especially for young women isn't harmless, it's taken way too lightly Derek from More Plates More Dates has good videos on it) but they're trying to make it difficult for men to get TRT that really need it. That ends up being a lifelong commitment you can't just stop because it shuts down your own ability to make testosterone which wasn't great to begin with.
I actually think part of the reason they practically push the pill is because it's not harmless and is actually horrible for society and most men too as far as enabling promiscuity, which on 'dating apps' is 95% of women only swiping on 5% of men now(but only 2% of men actually get dates), so women get spoiled by sex with men on that level(as they get with below average women as long as they're around their peak and easy) which ruins them for most men for anything serious so it's bullshit they feel entitled to marriage, AND tend to lie about their past so why give women the benefit of the doubt? Women can lie about being on the pill to baby trap men so it does way more harm than good for sure, but TRT makes it harder for them to lower testosterone in men, but they could monopolize TRT get men dependent on it and make tons of money basically finding another way to weaken men to prey on them, just like what's happening with all the grifters in Red Pill claiming to 'help' men that desperately need it. That need having been intentionally made by the state that incentivizes women to try and baby trap the men they want the most(if he opts out she knows she can get child support and thinks she can find another provider), women are incentivized to divorce and promiscuity tends to lead to single motherhood(also cheating on husbands) so a lot of boys are being raised by mothers, mostly women day care providers and mostly women teachers. So men are intentionally being phased out of the lives of women and children and practically being turned into slaves to society, but then again so-called 'independent' women have been turned into wage/debt slaves, they don't realize dependence on a man that actually loves them has been replaced by dependence on the state and government, and the corporations they're a slave to. That's not good, that's actually very bad for women too in the long-run but they don't see that when they're young. Older women see younger women as competition for the older men they want the most so most women throw younger women under the bus.
Patriarchy my ass, women have had more say and control for decades now, and are enabled by the state to control men. They say right wingers are the fascists and domestic terrorists, it's actually ANTIFA and women are literally becoming fascists, they're the ones being enabled by the state to destroy men's lives, literally all men are trying to do is call out the bullshit and stand up for their rights, but strong men with backbone are a 'threat' to women so emasculation it is. Women overwhelmingly have control in sex, dating, and relationships, marriage is all men have but women want to control that too.
Its also worth noting since I'm on a full-blown rant, there's little if any difference in certain outcomes between single fathers and 2 parents, but single mothers are far more likely to raise weak more violent boys, and promiscuous daughters likely to end up single mothers themselves ensuring the cycle continues which IMO is why women usually get custody, it's to ensure that. Then of course men get blamed for it all, because it's all 'dead beat' dads abandoning their kids right? It's mostly fatherless boys going on shootings, yet women have the audacity to blame conservatives and men for it, anyone that supports the 2nd amendment. It's like blaming anyone that supports alcohol being legal(which I do) for drunk driving deaths and any other bad thing associated with drinking culture, and the 2nd amendment IMO is far FAR more important than that. But liberals love their alcohol(not that many conservatives don't) and also probably more likely to dabble in illegal drugs(I don't think they ever should have been illegal war on drugs is bullshit). Imagine a liberal that judges anyone that owns an AR15 but they don't think about what they're financing when getting illegal drugs. That, and drugs being illegal doesn't stop most people.
I've also been saying for months now we'll see a rise in hate crimes against Christians and eventually full-blown persecution likely from the trans community, not even shitting you, I was still shocked it happened so soon. The Satanic Temple is having after school Satanism programs in elementary schools and supposedly Christians made bomb threats but who knows if that's even true, they lied about Jan 6th to frame Trump supporters, incels are also made to look so bad in the media, then there's apologists with the trans shooter basically blaming Christians, it's bullshit. The Satanists support the LGBTQ community(no that that's necessarily bad) to frame themselves as the 'good guys' and 'victims' of 'violent extremist' Christians. The state wants more control than parents have over their own kids, trying to convince 10 year olds they're the wrong gender and that puberty blockers, hormones, and eventually surgery is the answer and want to make it illegal for parents to object. I can't remember the anti-gun group but before the shooting they were saying trans people should take up arms to 'defend' themselves, but probably still oppose Christian conservatives in particular from having them, wonder why.

Okey yeah I knew I wasn't losing it.

Doom has been always known for taking samples from other songs.
Its an original track from Mick Gordon. He leaked 4 songs for this version of Doom like 10 years ago or so. You can look them up here.
Thought the same, was waiting for "DISCONNECT"
Doom offers so much potential for spin-offs, I want a UAC spinoff, during the outbreak, like umbrella corpse or operation raccoon city
thank god they cancelled this . its just too lame compared to what we've got
This really feels like an Id software game. I familiar elements from Id Software: mind control, ordinary grunts, horrific creatures, sharp teeth, space stations... This just feels like a natural continuation from Quake 4 or RAGE. Ordinary grunts rising to extraordinary missions. The setup is great: taking an escape pod to a terraformed planet that has lost contact, where everyone is dead. This is sci-fi horror that DOOM has always been. Fighting to survive, being the last marine to die, and generally feeling doomed.
Maybe after The Dark Ages id can give this abandoned Doom project a try. Either as a Halo 3: ODST style game or a standalone horror shooter.
Tbh i really hope someone at Id software decides to make doom 4 as like a spinoff of doom eternal maind story, how normal civilians fended off the forces of hell
You mean a revival of Quake
There's a lot of stuff in this video I had never seen so thank you very much for that. I myself really wish this had came out because I played doom 3 on my work PC when I was working at a hotel overnight back in the day and absolutely loved the change of pace. This one now looks like a mixture of doom, alien, dying light And many others. Wow I'm more sad now than ever that this didn't come out
For the people that are saying that they wish that Doom 4 would have came out just know that if you were around during the Doom 4 announcement trailer it is mainly your fault that this game didn't release.
If you were on the hate train it is mainly your fault it's like claiming your girlfriend is cheating on you because she spent time with one of her friends and then when you find out that she actually wasn't then you begged her to come back.
I never knew that Christian Bale from the Dark Knight auditioned for this role.
Love the soundtrack used for the menu

@@cheekypop It might actually be this: ua-cam.com/video/5-vtXZT8Y_c/v-deo.html
There was a short-lived period bridging between Doom 4 and Doom (2016) where they were making an irreverent reboot.
i still remember looking up doom 4 on google and seeing this monsterous robotic thing, holding 2 "plasma guns maybe?" with and upper body of a disfigured human with its skull split, possibly the mastermind? im not sure this was just a few years after doom 3's release, and me in middle school during computer class wanted to know if doom 4 was a thing so i googled it. it was an article from gearfuse, and it said "doom 4 confirmed"
i kinda wished we got that doom, i loved doom 3 and it looked to be following in its footsteps just from that monster image alone.
This game would have made Doom Eternal look like a huge pile of shit.
Okay, who else wants to play this. This looks so scary and terrifying!
Doom isn't supposed to be scary anymore when they literally make you a invincible super hero. Was a thousand times more atmospheric when you were just a human serving against all odds. But I grew up with duke and Doom and enjoy the adventure, I don't need instant rewards from killing hordes.

(Exept maybe Doom 3, this game was a failure who got stuck in developpement hell and the E3 Demo looks way way better than tce finish product. They cut like half of the game and made bad decisions. Still an okay game in it's own right.)
@@Pygargue00fr fair, I would disagree about Doom 3 though, at the time when it came out for me I loved it, pretty much had the same impact as Halflife did when that came out. Back then those games when playing them almost felt like you were watching a R rated movie when you know shouldn't be and your parents were still asleep. Sure Doom 3 wasn't really strafe run and gun, it was more slow paced but if you took your time and emersed yourself in the environment you can see how hard they worked on it, even the sound design tells a story with every environment your in, shouts and screams seemingly behind steel walls in other inaccessible areas, haunted rooms, machines operating un attended, staff hiding in crawl spaces trying to survive...man I could go on and on. Maybe I was just at the right age to appreciate more at the time. Was probably like 14?
@Chief Sitting Feather ?
@@crazymage9636 what instant rewards? The rewards now, as then, was blasting your way through. Sure you don't mean the deeper weapon and ability evolution that makes the game 10 times more fun, neither the resources you get for certain kills to keep going, are you? lol.
You guys are all funny. Yeah I grew up with those games too. They were action packed shooters blasting your way through shit in cyber demonic terror worlds. That is it. Stop overplaying it. It was hardly scary. I was 8 or 9 on the first Dooms and still wasn't scared. Talk about yourselves only and stop making it sound like your perspective is the only perspective. The game was designed by 20+ year olds to have fun and shoot shit and was intended to make you feel like a badass. Hence the cover art as well. It wasn't some horror masterpiece. Your personal perspectives, although you are entitled to them and its ok to see that way, are NOT the way the game was designed neither intended, so stop making silly claims. "Doom is not meant to be scary anymore". It never was meant to be scary to begin with. It was cheesy fun killing demons. Thats it.
Seriously, we finally got a Doom that lived up to the originals and now all the "forgotten ones" are crawling out of the woodwork to say "its not like it used to be".... No, its better, and builds on everything the originals did. Even the silly "collect keys to get to new location" platforming creation of the time. Everything was accounted for. And that is why 95% of the people that played the originals loved the new Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal games. No idea where this last 5% came from these last months. You all didn't feel original enough liking a game that everyone else liked so had to try and find ways to disagree? And worse yet have the audacity to make claim to origins?
Yeah, again, we ALL played the originals. The fact that the game was praised in unison by the old timers that enjoyed the originals says it all. Stop trying to change history. Its called either nostalgia goggles or worse yet, hipster mentality.
I can't even..... a game made for fun blasting demons, that was cheesy, by guys with metal hair laughing and saying shit like "oh cool, lets make him have a chainsaw cause its badass!" has taken the scope of some horror masterpiece because some people played it at ages they were not supposed to play it in and got scared...... wow.... just wow.
I like how doom 2016 took almost everthing from this game and it looks pretty nice
I still play DOOM3, I don't know how many times I've played and I still get excited
Call of Doom 4 didn't look too bad ....
Looks like the devs worked really hard on this. It might not of been the best Doom game but I feel bad for the people who did all this for it to just be scrapped. At least it looks like some of the models got carried over into Doom 2016.
I'm intrigued with some of what looks like multi-player on here, in that city with the hooded enemies. That could have been really cool
multiplayer on doom3 was fast shoter realy fun like qoeke
Nice spheric intro storyline. The gameplay seems to be some kind of Quake rebirth. The music is definetly inspired by "The Outsider - A Perfect Circle (Apocalypse Mix)"
I once beat all of resident evil 4 , went to a rave , and then went to a midnight release of resident evil 5 , and then beat that. I think I was up for 48 hours.
But when it comes to doom...
Yeah, I don't want survival horror in my doom. I like hamburgers, I like icecream. I am not going to throw them both into a blender and drink it. Remember what makes you you, and stick to it, rather than trying to make yourself into whatever genre is popular at the time.
I think we need a game where you get to be the guys around while the Doomslayer is doing his thing. Like Halflife's Blueshift... same monsters, but you get to be a regular security officer within the base so you have to try stay on the wake of the Doomslayer to survive :D
Could be a spinoff called “DOM”
This looks interesting enough to be a Spinoff tbh, like a Squad shooter where the players are not unstoppable superhumans
This does have potential to be a Doom survival game.
Doom 2016 is obviously the better game. But I think that if this version of the project were brought to fruition, it would have been pretty good!
Yeah but they remove it bc it feels like your playing call of duty or battlefield not doom
Honestly this looks sick as hell, like a perfect cross between doom 3 and doom 2016
I hope someday, the original doom 4, comes out from the void...

They should totally finish this up, sell it as Doom 2016 Sidestory. Like Halo ODST.
Looks like it went the DOOM3 route of horror. I would probably like that
Interesting stuff, could have been a good game.
Still think that scrapping it for Doom 2016 was the right move though.
Maybe they could release it as a side project, who knows.
I've so far held off buying eternal as it looked just to Arcady like Street fighter or something with the glowing power ups all over the place. Lacked the horror aspect that doom 3 fairly well

Interesting the first footage seen seems to be from an early build of Doom 2016 along with some of the storyboard stuff. Around the middle and end we can see some actual Doom 4 first from multiplayer which looked very much like a product of its time and some from various animation showcases which may have been scripted events.

this looks like doom 3 and doom 2016 having a baby. doom 3 wasnt the best but one thing i loved about doom 3 was the horror. and much more darker environment.
This would be a cool spin off of doom eternal. Showing you how humans deal with the monsters
Could be a spinoff set in that Universe or a mode to see from the Survivor's Perspective
looks like evil warframe
Okay hot take here, I think that doom should have gone more towards this. I enjoyed doom 2016 and eternal. But I think they would have been better as quake reboots. Quake was the game with the fast movement and specific enemies which challenged the player to change their tactics.
Doom Eternal would have been an amazing quake game, with the different worlds and more of the fantasy influence. Slap in some more eldritch gods and we're set.
Imagine we got a Doom 4 combining Wolfenstein The new Order shooting action and Doom 3 horror elements , set on earth during the invasion of hell. Good shooting mechanics, a bit of secret hunting in the maps, hidden and purchasable upgrades for weapons and armour, environmental storytelling like in doom 3, the occasional creepy section, done.
Then we have a prequel expansion like The Old Blood set on Mars with a higher focus on horror.
Hell we even could go further and do the half life expansion thing and do multiple additional campaigns with different characters like crash and phobos from quake 3 Arena. All telling the story from different angles and giving new insights to the situation. And believable mixing up playstyles because you're a different character.
I would even go as far and release more games who feature q3 characters to eventually have them return in the new Quake Arena reboot.
Well a bit of a rant there, but I just wanted to say that.
This
They putted doom 64 and doom 2016 together 💀💀
First a scary thing happened, then another scary thing, and you are controlled by a thing in your head, and then it got even scarier.
Music name?
Call of Doom! I love the new DOOMs, but I would also love a take on the glorious Doom 3, but with less demons kicking buckets before jump on your face
Call of Doom?
What were they thinking doing that odd Max Payne like intro????
it could have been an internal storyboard type of thing that wasn't intended to be in the actual game, something to set the feel and mood for the development team. at least i would hope it wasn't intended to be in the game in the state that it was in lol
@@Klayperson That's the vibe I was getting
The Music is Great
i would love to see a different aproach to the uac ,as we only play as the slayer i would like to play as one of the uac guards and witness the horrors that hell brought upon the facility , it would be another horror game for the doom franchise
Basically, Doom: Opposing Force.
edgelords when a FPS game isn't dark, gritty, obscure, "Clive Barker inspired" and atmospheric like the limbo (it's automatically garbage).
Wait?? This was an ID project? Im so fucking mad. When was this cancelled and why??
The cancel it almost a decade ago and replaced it with DOOM 2016
I for one would like to see some of this in a Doom prequel - focusing on what life and war was like before the demons show up. Why is a pump action shot-gun a default weapon in space serving alongside a plasma rifle, how is a multi-barrel chain-gun man-portable so easily, what was the BFG intended for if not fighting monsters? Sure - I've had some "head cannon" about these things for thirty years, but still something other than alien invasion could be nice.
At 3:00 we see footage of what would have been a sequel in the vein of doom 3, more horror. And from 3:37 on it seems like the early stages of doom 2016, models, gameplay, and weapons are very similiar.
This gameplay being shown in the background of the single player menu at 3:52 is similar to 2016, is that 2016 or Doom 4 gameplay? I love looking at leaks and footage of this game, canceled games are really interesting to me, especially for IP's I like. Hopefully one day we will see more complete footage.
This would be an awesome spin-off for a Netflix series for Doom I hope they make a Netflix series for Doom
I would have loved to have played that Doom 4 prototype in the Id Tech 5 engine. Sure, the textures were pretty shit upclose, extremely low-res, but the Id Tech 5 engine games had this unique look that I have never seen any other engine manage to capture it.
Many elements are very reminiscent of "RAGE", I think they discontinued DOOM 4, and made it a standalone story "RAGE".
DOOM 4 would still have been very good I think. I would love a DOOM 3 remaster with the new engine.
its ok they turned this into rage
old footage before Doom 3
Crazy to see so many things from doom 2016 in this and snapmap as well
А ведь когда то над четвертом думом, работала хорватская студия Croteam.
I feel like with a good story this could have been a good game, maybe not Doom 2016 good but still good. I feel like this could have been Doom's Half-Life 2 with a good story, meaning, just like Half-Life 2 is a departure from Half-Life but it's still good, Doom 4 could have been a departure but still good.
I honestly would pay money to play this lol
It seems like there were many ideas they decided to reuse for Doom 2016. It would’ve been cool to see what this might have been like, but it seems that it would’ve been somewhat like Duke Nukem Forever with how that game tried to mix a modern shooter with a retro shooter.
It does seem like the game has faster movement than DNF, but some of the scripted sequences make it seem like it's a slower moving game.
From the looks of it, Doom 2016 was definitely the right call to make, but damn I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to play this game
They really should go back to this game and make it a standalone doom title as humanity fending off/losing to the demonic invasion of earth before the Slayer arrives, would be so cool
OUCH! I cut my hand on this E D G E
at this point in the franchise, something like this might actually work really well while the slayer is entombed
Use this as Quake 5. Perfect point to make it about the monsters from Quake 1
5:30 what soundtrack is this?
doom 4 ost the resistance
@@ImNotSimon_totally by Mick Gordon
Is that A Perfect Circle???
it seems that somebody in id was tasked to recreate the instrumental for the purpose of setting up the mood. i don’t think that this track would be in the final game as it would qualify as copyright infringement
the clean guitar around 6:25 is an off beat weird version of e1m1
This feels more like a horror game then the current Doom's.
Yeah. And it is perfect. 😊
Who's doing the narration in the first section? His voice sounds really familiar, I swear I've heard him in other games...
Funny how they already had snapmaps figured out that early
