I did RAGBRAI back in 2012. I was planning on doing it this year. Until I found out the route, and knew there would be Hills, Hills and more HILLS! Since I have family in Rad Oak and Villisca. I've been on 34 heading into Red Oak more times then I can figure. Good video by the way.
Lol i was there. Started june 19th in jackson hole. Continued on to vermont. Just got home. Finished all 48 states under a decade on one bike. Started riding june 6 2015 in seattle. All sorts of miles. That ragbrai stands out as the funniest amongst them.
Question, did your bike have front shocks? I saw when you where cranking up a hill how the handle bars moved. Just a quick word of advice from a 62 year old, who's been riding a good bike since 1981. You should lock out your front shocks when cranking up a hill. It will stiffen up your ride, but you wont paste power. It's hard to explain. Dude, I love that poem from the beginning of part one.
There's no shocks, the movement of the handlebars is actually a trick of the stabilization software. As the camera bounces around, the stabilization software locks the majority of pixels in place (background) and the handlebars appear to move. It's actually the camera moving.
This video completely captures the RAGBRIA experience. The FPV really made me feel like I was there.
We can all post our footage, way to tell the story… well done Ryan.
Thanks for sharing
Ryan & Beth
