Hey Scott, DRIVE-R! Years before the stupid 25-year ban on JDM cars was lifted in America for the R34, I already knew I wouldn't be able to afford a GT-R. So I've been looking at ER34s for a long time, ever since I saw Nomuken killing it in D1GP back in the early 2000s. I just want a clean, bone stock ER34 GT-T/GT-X, but even these cars are skyrocketing in price too! I hope I can own one someday still. The ER34 sedans have their own beautiful aesthetic that sets them apart from their sexier GT-R counterparts, and I love them for that. Dope video. Cheers mate!
Nice car man. Ive got a GT (2dr rb20 NA originally) and I definitely can let people know parts are insane. I bought the car for 9k usd in 2020, ive spent about $80k on parts. sequential, rb26/30, ztune kit, awd swap, interior bits, gtr quarters…. People often ask me why i didn’t just buy a GTR. Well, because after all the mods and 1200hp drivetrain package, im still in about 120k cheaper than if i bought a GTR and done the same power level. If you want a high hp 34, best thing to do is find a clean GT/GTT shell and do it from the ground up. $120k usd for a “BNR” instead of “HR/ER” on the title is just unnecessary now.
I'm also thinking of taking a similar approach. You can still find some R34s in 20DE auto with low ks and a tidy cassis for a reasonable price. A good starting point to build up from. I think getting your foot in the door before prices continue to become unrealistic for most people is not a bad shout. One can always take their time building it up into the car of their dreams afterwards!

it doesn't have all the styling of a GTR. It's missing the big fenders and the 944-like rear blisters.
