Thanks for watching fam
POLO, what's good man. Enjoying ALL of your reactions 👍😎. You've already reacted to the 70's band Boston. You've got to put this Official Live version of *"Don't Look Back"* on the list for reactions!! It's a MASTERPIECE and WILL make it to the 4Runner 🤔🤨😳🤯😎👍🔥!!!!! *EDIT* I GUARANTEE little man will jam out with you 😉🙂. *ALSO, PLEASE turn on* the "c/c closed captioning"...some lyrics are difficult to hear but make the song incredible!!!
ua-cam.com/video/2HuiH-0R6a0/v-deo.html
Dude if people are actually saying that, you must look into sevendust if you haven't already, and Animals as Leaders. AAL is Mozart level instrumental progressive metal/djent. Only one of the three is a white dude. Just saying. Also the definitely not white Tosin Abasi is regarded as a or the top guitar player these days. It's a tight race for the top and white dudes are not the majority there. 🤣🤣 White people music. Metal and rock owe everything to blues, jazz, and R&B. When it came out it was called black people music. My dad came up during beatnik and hippie eras and for being a white kid listening to the Beatles he caught black racial slurs. Bro be yourself. They'll adjust. 😁
PLZ, PLZ, PLZ react to Away by Cam Cole. It's only 3:30 or so, and it's GREAT!!! Don't you just wanna go away from this world we've made sometimes?!!! Go Away with Cam & don't worry. He brings it home at the end. You'll really like Cam, methinks.
More White People Music
Sevendust - Bitch
Chevelle - Fizgig
Tanks for reacting brother. I appreciate you.
We the maggots appreciate you trying out slipknot, not every person will like them but when they listen we welcome everyone, this is for the people.
100% We Maggots are a family. We understand it may not be everyone's cup of tea but we're happy you're testing the waters.
Juggalo checking in. Our families ain't for everyone but all are welcome.
when my friend fist showed me slipknot i went: nah man that just isn't for me. I made a full 180 on that.
Became an insane fan at 48. Kid from the 80’s here. Well made, well written, better then we’ll executed. Rip #1,#2
Never forget
PAUL & JOEY🤟
Dude I actually LOL'ed so loud I woke my room mate up. That was a great intro. And you'd be surprised how many black metalheads are in the pit now days. Good music is good music!
Dr. Bootyfinger
Music is music. It knows no color or creed.
Good muzik is good muzik straight up.. Exsept tekno/house muzik/EDM that shyt is trash lol
@@dustincamacho1295 nah any music is awesome listen to whatever you love
yeah the 👍was on even before the reaction...I found it funny too
Drummer was Joey Jordison, massive talent, had since passed away. The drummer they have note, jay just as hard hitting. They got lucky with the greatest drummers
They really did.
It still doesn't feel real that Joey is gone. Jay and Joey are both great.
The talent is in Jay’s blood
One guy I really would like to see in Slipknot would be El Estepario Siberiano, but I think Jay is far from leaving the band.. And he is very good either, so it doesn't really matter...
Have to say that even though jay plays tighter. There’s such a raw nostalgia of joeys cinder block in a washing machine style and sound.
This song opened me up to a whole genre of music that I had previously ignored.
opening the mind can lead to good things and bad things alike. good on you for opening up, enjoy your journey.
Congratulations and welcome aboard 👏 there can never be enough Metal fans🤘
Same here. This is the first song I heard from them and the rhythms they created were inspirational in my own writing. Not to mention, this is the first time I have ever heard drums played like this. Just amazing talent all around.
RIP Joey and Paul. Joey is why I wanted to play drums when I was 12 . He was a treasure.
Maggots, we are called, are some of the greatest fans out there. Slipknot has been at it so long they still outdo their younger counterparts. Their shows are freaking great and this is one of my favorite songs. Try unsainted, nero forte, the devil in i, wait and bleed and the lead singer, Corey Taylor, other band stone sour, different but still great
Corey also has his solo stuff, CMFT (Corey Mother F******* Taylor). It boggles the mind how energetic/crazy he is 😮 xx
yeah no doubt one of the top metal bands from the late 90s... I can still remember playing Warhammer 40k with my homie listening to Manson and then Slipknot came out and it was a life changer (nonetheless credits to Blind Guardian, Freedom Call, later on Sabaton omg Sabaton are gods to me, 5FDP, Soulfly and hundreds of other bands who shaped metal music)
Also, Spit it Out
Custer, gotta throw that in there too…
@@nokindred definitely spit it out
Music isn't about what color your skin is, it's about what's in your heart
This needs ta be on tha news instead of wtv tf else is. Iv tried so hard to explain what you just said n nobody listen.
This is literally the track that got me into Slipknot 🎉
same
If you loved this and the drumming, I *highly* recommend Psychosocial by these guys. Insanely banging song and the video is super awesome too.
Most definitely. Joey always brought his A game. Wish we could have had longer with him.
I'd also like to add Sulfur as well. Joey's drumming in that song is so heavy yet fluid at the same time. We lost a great one when he passed.
There is the 20min Wacken video and then there is the rest...
Another good one is eyeless
I’m a fellow African American that loves heavy metal music, I’ve been to a slip know concert and that was… different with people around me that looked like they should be in Hells Angels… but once the music started it didn’t matter… great video, look forward to seeing more
This is how I felt at my first raves which I felt was a half step to to a Slipknot show. Still can't wai tot see them.
Oh wow. Can you share some of your experiences from your time in Africa? I assume you have some or you'd have just said you were a black American and not made some special distinction. Also, Elon Musk is my favorite African-American lately.
@@Salty_BallsColonizer-American is a whole different thing. Also hes a POS.
This song is about pain. About having so much pain you can't stand it....and this band is sharing that we all have pain sometimes....it's cathartic. Redemptive.
It’s abt a migraine actually 😂
@@janrekusz7490 Migraines are very painful...
@@darrenrawlings8901 They are. They Deserve a song purely about them lolol
I had a friend in high-school who took his life freshman year because he suffered from severe migraines and he was never going to get a cure for them from what the doctors told him. Migraines absolutely suck.
This was done at a fans house in Des Moines IA. The owners were planning a remodel and let the band film the video there but the fans wound up doing so much damage that the band had to pay for a new house.
thats a bad ass story 😂
Sadly Joey Jordison, the drummer, is no longer with us. Passed away way too early. RIP.
I recommend you react to any of their songs live. That way you can see how Joey actually plays the drums its insane and so effortless. One of the best to ever play drums.
The drummer Joey was so well known for his double bass speed, I wish people would have focused more on his amazing grooves and fills.
Not the biggest fan of Slipknot but 'Duality' and 'Before I Forget' are undeniably great metal songs.
no dead memories? sulfur? those 2 are my fav slipknot songs
I really love spychosocial. Hot take I know.
Unsainted is my favorite slipknot song
I saw them a couple times before they got big, and Joey always came out after the show and hung out with fans. Really nice guy.
Never been huge about there their music, but I can say I've seen them 3 times live over the last 15 years. They put on hands down EVERY time the best show I've seen
I've seen them 5 times in concert. Best live band along with tool and pink floyd . Showing my age. You gotta go to a concert you will love it
tool? bro, u need some repairs for your wheelchair?
U got some great music taste, big hugs from somewhere in Asia
@@vaterunser3879 I listen to everything music is life
I slept on these guys until my stepson dragged me to see them.. I'm SO glad he did!
When he says “I push my fingers into my eyes, it’s the only thing that slowly stops the ache” he’s actually referring to migraines he was suffering. Assuming from the withdrawals he was dealing with when he was getting sober.
LOVE SLIPKNOT!!!! They actually have 1 drummer and 2 percussionists. so basically 3 drummers! ( guys total in the band!
Music has no colour and no frontier, it's an universal language.
Awesome statement. My thoughts exactly 🌴👍👍😎🌴
Unfortunately there’s people that have made it about color. As a black guy I got picked on my whole life for listening to rock/metal.
Great intro!🤣 So glad your checking out more Slipknot🤟R.I.P. Joey
There are actually four percussionists in slipknot, though the main drummer Joey Jordison (on this track) was and still is considered one of the most amazing drummers of the 90's, and 00's. He unfortunately began losing the use of his legs due to transverse myelitis, and this also eventually caused his death.
The very end of a slipknot's show during knotfest was pretty special as they paid tribute to both of their lost members, their names, their numbers (within the band), and if I remember right a photo, of each were up on these massive screens as a very soft song played and it just feels surreal at the end of the show.
It's three percussionist not four if I'm not mistaken.
@@user-me9in1yu6s you are correct! I was thinking there were two regular +clown but it's clown and one other who are the percussionists besides their main drummer jay now.
There's three percussionists (Joey (who was replaced by Jay), Clown and Chris (who left the band because of some financial disagreement and was replaced by Michael Pfaff/Tortilla Man))
@@Okbuddypal yeah, I was thinking someone else occasionally came out with a snare drum strapped on.
Being honest, I'm glad that you take a rewind after you share a thought. Giving us time to listen to those parts again to catch what you noticed.
The drummer is absolutely amazing!
Metal is for everyone! It helps relieve stress anger and depression from just listening to it! I appreciate you listening to it and your reaction!
Man, I was in a super toxic marriage when this song came out. It completely voiced all the things I couldn't say to anyone about what my life was like. It's high up on the playlist of songs that saved my life. Love your channel.
Please tell me you got out?
@@xanmontes8715 yes. Almost 7 years ago. 🙂
@@TheRealLadyJenn thank fuck
Really just a song about migraines but , to each is own
@@brandenoates music can be interpreted in any number of ways to different people.
"That's white people music"
My army roommate would have disagreed.
He was a 6'2" black metal head,
and quite the Bruce Lee enthusiast.
☕🤣🇺🇸
Music is music. It knows no color.
Yeah Joey Jordison was so good! Unfortunately he had to quit drumming due to him getting a horrible disease called transverse myelitis (a form of MS). He ended up losing his legs. Sadly he died in 2021.
He was such a an immense talent. We lost him too soon 😢
Joey was unreal behind the kit RIP!
Appreciate your reviews . Fun to watch.
Joey JORDISON is amazing. Great job noticing the drummer🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
It always makes me smile anytime someone notices him. His drumming was out of this world.
Joey really was one of the best to ever do it. I love it when people notice just how good he was.
The band had 9 members if memory serves me right and there were 3 drummers in the band at the time (1998)
Just one drummer. 2 procussionists. That’s how it’s always been.
This 67 year old man loves Slipknot!!!
Omg….to be a goth kid in the 90’s again💚
Everything you described that you liked about this song. Is what eyeless is, but on steroids💯
This song resonates with me as I too suffer from migraines.
It's like I always say metal is an acquired tast but it's worth acquiring
I love slip knot.. and that chick in the lower left hand corner in white tank top with dark chocolate cherry long hair in the drum cam shots.. and yes there's at least 2 drummers maybe 4?.. Anyway.. that chic( not looking for accolades just giving reference to the fact that me and my girl were there. In the video.. that's all) is myself and that was an awesome long soggy rainy wet cold but crazy fun experience for me and my friend Kayla also in the lower left corner. Maggots rule! And the band was so nice and awesome and interacted with us all like the down to earth iowa boys they are.. iowa nice says it all. And no one should ever feel alone the band has got you -darlings.. keep on keeping on! Luv yall
This is my favorite Slipknot song. The lyrics are killer.
grew up in the era where slipknot and lil wayne were the best so fire
I started watching your channel for hip hop, but ive been playing/booking punk and metal for 15 years or so. I just love good music.
Slipknot is a whole new rabbit hole. They have tons of great stuff - my favorite, their masterpiece, Iowa.
Music Is Colorless...
If we could just take that and apply it to every day life the world would be a beautiful place. 🌴👍👍😎🌴
Woohoo 1st! This song kicks a$$
Woohoo my favorite Slipknot song!! Music is for everyone it's universal!!
as a white suburban kid with a lot of anger and no strong male father figure, i gravitated towards rap music ( mid 80s im old) because metal made me more depressed than i already was. the mental health lessons i got from ice t and krs one are the reason im alive. later in life i was able to appreciate this kind of music as cathartic and i use it that way. i love how polo comes in even handed and honest. much respect to this channel
Six Feet Under and Ice T made a dope ass song!
I'll look for it, thanks dude. btw im an english guy living in australia.(random fun fact) hope your next day is a great one!!!@@realcapers
I don't always listen to metal music but when I do. Wow, the song that I hear are amazing. So keep it up and keep playing it
Spit it out live is some good stuff worthy of checking out.
2009 Download is where it’s at.
Love how open minded you are. You know you’re breaking a barrier for others who thought it was taboo to listen to this. Keep up the great content.
Woohoo Slipknot! Lol the intro bro
RIP Joey 🙏 This band and Tool was the soundtrack of my high school years
The best band in the World. 20+ years and still going strong. 🤘🏼
I love this. Thank you for sharing!
First 30 seconds, gold. Love you man. Love your Tool videos
U gonna love the tragically hip, they weren’t this metal, but they fuckin rocked… ask a Canadian, and I’m not Canadian. Corey Taylor, singer of slipknot is from my home town, Des Moines, iowa
This video was not meant to be what it became. They invited a shit ton of maggots out to do the shoot. A person who was renovating their house allowed them to shoot there. Btw it was like 40° that day. Thwy let the maggots be themselves and actually caused somewhere around $55k of damage. They paid to have it all repaired. And also made one of the absolutely best fan involved music videos ever
Joey was a beast behind that kit...... R.I.P. Brother 🤘😎🤘
Lol!! Funny stuff bro!! And your dry delivery was well done!! And to expose yourself to a potentially stoic genre given your musical upbringing, is truly fascinating! This is part of the allure for the viewers, and you bear and embrace it like a champ! Cheers!!
Rest In Peace to the drummer very sad happy new listeners appreciate his talent
Don't worry Polo, we fully accept you!
Music is for everyone! I love your intro msg-adjustment since I’ve seen it I’ve used it quite a bit ❤️ rock on 🤘
Aye,music unites.
Love your Slipknot reactions!! They are amazing lyricists .. I'd definitely recommend Pulse of the Maggots
This is the song that brought me to the Knot 20 years ago.....I'm not their # 1 fan but when I want to listen to something absolutely hard core I put on SLIPKNOT. Rip Joey, there will never be a drummer like him......Rip Paul, badd ass bass player, without Paul there would not be Slipknot
The singing that Corey does in this song is called frie and it's that Valley Girl type thing you can do with your voice. Joey Jordison was their drummer then. RIP Joey
slipknot is good shit, love it!
I highly recommend "Spit it out" Live at Download 2009 u will not regret it!
Yes! A must watch.
Had my ass cracking up in the beginning 😂
Hahah you had me.shook at the beginning foo! Haha dope reaction as always polo. I would love for you to hear so much more slipknot. Wait and bleed, I can't even name my favorites. Just dive bro..dive
Awesome, Slipknot is a very hard hitting band, from music to lyrics. Cory's voice is one of the best in the biz and as Drummers go Joey was incredible but so is the current drummer Jay, try some tracks like psychosocial , Dead memories , the devil in I and one of the heaviest slipknot track Solway Firth . Great reactions,.
Never been a fan of Slipknot's style of metal but this one def rips and always gets a pass.
Some songs are too "busy" not enough space for anything to shine & a lack of cohesion over all tho I'm definitely still consider myself a fan
but in your opinion OP what sours you on their style of metal?
@@benl7057 Mostly the production and singing. Nothing against Corey Taylor, just not for me. A bit too radio maybe? but that happens when bands are huge. I get it. However, if I'm going "metal", I'm going death metal like Blood Incantation.
@@pawpaw__I'm going to see Defeated Sanity with Afterbirth and stabbing In 2 days. So yeah i love death metal as well. Black metal as well since i am really into dark atmosphere and dissonant riffs.
i was the same bro, its all about what you've experienced and opened up to musically. Slipknot will always be some of my favorite music now. love the vid
I love it man! Youll be hooked eventually! So glad you took a risk and tryed it out!
Duality is such an amazing song. I also recommend vermilion, and vermilion part 2 if you haven't yet. 🙏🙏🙏
You're amazing, Polo... I love how you have an open mind 🖤 I'd LOVE to go to a metal show with you. Hope one day you'll check out In Flames "Ropes" "Where Dead Ships Dwell"... Or Bloodsimple "The Leaving Song". So amazing and deep 🔥🔥🔥
Are there two drummers? 😂
Best compliment i have ever heard for joey
So glad you worked up to this man ❤❤❤
It is about dealing with migraines.
Joey was an amazing drummer....watching him play such as he did in that emotionless mask always captivates me!!!
love you Polo! thanks for what you do
Definitely loved this banger of a vid !
If you like slipknots drums you’d probably love gojira.. my favorite songs from them are where dragons well and wolf down the earth.. it’d be great to see a reaction to that
Highly recommend some live performances from Slipknot that even though you may not be able to catch many of the lyrics but I can assure you’ll appreciate the energy and charisma they exude onto the audience *Disasterpiece* and *People=Shit* both live in London in 2002.
Ive never been to a slipknot concert, but ive been to a lot of metal concerts especially in the last 10 to 15 years. The first time in the standing pit was intimidating at first. There was me, a skinny blonde classical pianist surrounded by guys who were big. They were intimidating. But once the music started i remember going straight to a mosh pit and i dont know what happened but i ended up on the floor. I cant have been down for more than a second and about 100 hands were on me dragging me to my feet and people making sure im ok. The metal community is nothing like the reputation it holds. The fans can be eccentric, but we are also a tight community of some of the nicest and nost peaceful people you will ever meet. We just want to enjoy our music our way. I will see slipknot as soon as i can whilst im still lucky enough to be able to
Thank you for showing recognition to SLIPKNOT !!! Fucken love them
Joey Jordison was an absolute genius 🖤🖤 My favourite Slipknot tracks are the earlier ones, but be prepared for heavier, edgier, darker, and more experimental sounds. A great fun video to watch is the live recording of Spit It Out at Download 2009. Thanks for a great reaction 🖤🖤
lol, hey man there's good shit everywhere, white, black, you just gotta find it
RIP Paul, Joey. Legends.
His "DYE" job on his hair is cool 😎 AF, NEXT LEVEL!!!
You're going to like "Wait and Bleed" and "Before I Forget."
I hope he gets around to these, I also think he’d like Dead Memories and Sulfur (the drumming is elite).
So many great Slipknot songs. I'd love to see him do a side by side reaction to Vermilion part one and part two.
Can we get some surfacing up in here?
Joey was so beyond Amazing RIP Joey 😢
Fun fact: one of the lead singers inspirations is Wu Tang. So he be spittin in some songs
When he first started talking I thought he was going to say something really serious. Glad it wasn't nothing serious though
Same 😂. Was worried then couldn't stop laughing.
listen to left behind polo, you have to admire the brutality of it
I have that Joey’s mask tattooed in my right calf, Joey has a special place in my heart . He is missed so much .
Eyeless drums is one of my favourite
Dude!! I’ve been hoping for a long time you’d do this song. Actually this song was what exposed me to the “reaction” video genre and your channel.
RIP JOEY THE GOAT
