Literally is the same as the Skar ddx-12.
DDX is a 1000rms dvc 2 ohm and cheaper
I know the DDX 12's have dual tinsel leads too.
The sa has a black anodized voice coil and a slightly taller surround and different parameters the sa is less stiff than the ddx
Go watch the unofficial sundown audio channel and see Derrick do the torcher spl test on this sub line. Skar doesn’t compare in anyway to this sub. The ddx can’t handle strapped scv 7500s so no, it’s not the same. Nothing against skar, just skar isn’t in the same class as sundown.

Man I wish Jp carried American bass. I've owned a few subs Including sundown audio sa subs and hands down American bass throws the low end bass. And I rock the 15 Paid as much as you would for one 12 from sundown. 3 inch voice coil and 2000 watts for 200 bucks compared to 275 to the sa 15 alone.

Seeing something as simple as some unexpected free swag or a hand written thank you on my invoice tells me a hell of a lot about who I'm doing business with. To me as a consumer, a little handwritten thank you, especially from the owner translates to "we see you, we appreciate your business, n we got your back n gonna take good care of you." Nice touch.

Not trying to talk shit, just experienced with numerous brands personally and I've had 4 12" SA's, the X's, ZV4 and ZV5, along with the newest Nightshades... The top SD subs get down but they can ease up on their prices. XFL's, HD's and VFL's take a beating for a much lower price. The TNT AB is the closest to an SA and for 130 or less you can give them more power too vs. the rated rms. I think a lot of people get impatient with saving and settle for those SA's due to SD's high ass prices. I've settled for less since the beginng until I learned the hard way. Soundqubed is another one and are very similar to AB. You should carry American Bass JP.. real low pricing for distributors, high quality everything with huge amps and quality highs too... even entry level too and you JP can make your own price from low to high like Sound Solutions and charge double on all of the non SSA equipment in their store compared to every other store... Just a lot more money to be made with AB... Not that you aren't doing well for yourself already. Sorry to ramble on but.. I have over 24 years in car audio and I linstall my own shit so, I have experience to give proper advice out about most all brands. Skar has cheaper prices for nearly identical equipment to Sundown and better subs for less than the SA. JL Audio is really on crack with their prices and quality that people are on their knees over thinking they are the best out.

RicoGoNuts They arent the exact same sub, same magnet and basket the sa has a taller surround, higher quality black anodized voice coil and more musical ts parameters but they look identical

Anyone know what would be the JL Audio equivalent?
i cant decide if i want to go with 2x 12" Sundown subs (not sure which series yet) or 2x 12" JL 12w1v3-4 (amp below)
-Current Setup is:
Kole Audio C2.6SD Cap w/voltmeter(2003.06)
2x Rockford Fosgate Prime R2-500x1 amps ..cert card states 635w total rms @2ohm, 1% thd (currently only using one right now....notice subs)
2x JL 12w0v3-4 (wired in parallel down to 2ohm)
45Hz tuned Ported box, total 2.75 cubic feet, dual chamber, downward firing with 2.5" x-max travel clearance from sournd roll to the floor....i raise and lower as needed ....and (yes, i had to sacrifice proper box size to keep my 3rd row seating)
i want to keep my SQ but at the same time i want just a tad bit more SPL to help move more the air in cabin ('03 GMC Yukon Denali WITH 3rd row seats)
Im assuming my major limitiing factor is too small of a box?( i want to keep it as is but if needed i can make the box 12" taller or fab a new one, same design different diimessions...id rather leave the box alone)
any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

From installer point of view is not just what kind of woofer is the best, you can take an average woofer built the correct box for it where the (fs) frequency that the woofer play easy that the woofer it accept it can sound as good as a high end woofer.
Michael Johnson Exactly. I have 2 of these on a SCV-2000d, and hooked it up to a basic, prefab box while waiting for my custom box( im impatient). Night and day difference with the custom box! Those SAs need room to breath.

I ran 2 sa12's I really liked those subs last I had clamped they were taking a little over 1700 watts no issues at all. I planned on selling them but I kept them I plan on doing a wall or a 4th in the future.

I've had my SA 12's since 2013 just a regular SA sub not the revision one like your showing,and i have two of them on a DC audio 2.0K amp,2000 watts and they take it like a champ hit low and never have bottomed out or made any popping messed up sounds,SUNDOWN AUDIO RULES.and I've been a bass head since the late 80's.so since I'm getting old,umm 48,I'm going to step it up and get some xv.3's 12 inch weighing in at 63 lbs each,omg my poor car,plus more gear i will need stronger rear struts or shocks I'm sure of that.but why not go out in a bang.now if someone would give a brother a good deal on them I'm disabled .so i would appreciate it.479.00 a piece is a lot for me,then bigger alt,another amp,possibly a bigger box,slightly and maybe another battery i already have a extra one,so I'm hoping i don't have to,but we will see.thanks for reading.

This guy cares about his business and it shows. That is a great bang for the buck or boom I should say. Like a few people have said, Kicker, Jl and Mtx are better deals that's a load of crap. I currently have 2 kicker 12' comp-r's in an Atrend box, 1400 watt amp, 0 gauge wire and I'm trying to get rid of it like a disease. Itching for some Sundown audio like I have a rash.

the cab ultra is the same sa ultra. 160 bucks I think. they look good too. And I haven't heard many complaints yet either
Although i did have the tensil lead pop off one of mine only after 1 month if use. It popped off right where it was sauldered. Easy fix, but was frustrasted that it popped off so easy. Lookin at the 1 star reviews of the sub, that was the main reason for the 1 star, was due to tensil lead breaking off

thinking about buying 2 of them to put in my truck only thing holding me back is being worried about being disappointed. I need something that will hit on any song I play. I currently have 2 kicker 15" comps on a 1200w boss amp and I can only play certain songs because either the subs don't hit hard on low notes or they distort.
Change out the boss amp... their actual RMS output is about a quarter to a sixth of what they actually advertise...look into a Hiphonics or Skar amp for a budget friendly solution that will blow the boss out of the water.
All of my audio system's has always been jl audio over the year's because I love the way that they sound in a seal enclosure one of my current set-up in my impala is 3 JL Audio 13.5 W6V2's in a seal box running off of an JL Audio 1000/1 The app is way over 1000 watts my system sounds clean & clear Bookoo Bass but for my next car system I might do two Sundown audio SA 15's I normally never do ported because I think seal boxes sounds better

I ordered a skar audio rp 2000.1 from you JP a little over a month ago but was surprised to see the amp got shipped from Florida, from a different distributor and not yourself. Shipping was fast and the amp does awesome, but as far as sundown or skar, I recommend skar all day, the price compared to sundown is much better, and the quality of the products aren't much difference an a lot of things.
