I've been running a single O.G. XFL 12d2 on 1300 watts clamped for over 2 years. Sub still slams, hits every note & is still stiff. Coil still nice and shiny too. Metered a 142.4 on the dash. I bought that sub as a backup system and never wanted to take it out.

Its a whole nother ball game going from a $100 sub to a $200 sub. I know that both subs were around the same price in this video. Performance is starting to get good. Can't wait until you hit 150db at 40hz with a single 12 with the same amp and start comparing $300 12in subs 👍
Hey Parker!! you need to take away about .4 cu airspace for that EVL 12. And adjust your port anywhere from 37-40 for SPL. My 2 in 4.3 cu 35hz peak around 40 and get loud from 29- upper 50’s . Play a sweep from like 25 hz to about 50 to find your peak
Rocking the V1 XFL 12 and its a nasty sub! Slaps so hard and can easily take a beating. American Bass has always treated me right. Those subs can take a decent bit more of power over the RMS and still last.
I hate that surround, but those are incredible woofers, put it in a 2 cube box. I had the older version like 8 years ago or so, I ended up rebuilding it into an 18 with PSI parts.
I can't wait for you to upgrade in the future to a bigger amp!😀 When you do that you should get a Sundown Audio nsv4 Subwoofer they handle way more than 3,000 watts rms!😀
I had the 6 old xfls in 12cuft tuned to 32hz they go hard I like the direct leads on the new xfls I don't like the new surrounds I got 2 FI sp4 15s now on 2 new hcca 3ks
Steve Bellen u know the surrounds serve a purpose right and aren’t there for looks 😂😂😂 the ribbed surround does look a bit cheap compared to a lot of other ribbed surrounds like a lot of the pride audio subs or other russian woofers hell even kickers ribbed seems better quality
Had bad experience with AB. Bought new xfl 10" played phenomenal and outplayed a sundown sa 10" in the same box. Just hit more notes and way lower. But, xfl didn't last maybe six months or less being pushed by 750rms and never distorted. Cone just let loose from the spyder. Cousin bought the AB HD and also didn't last more than 6 months. Also ran into a a couple of reviews online where they had the same problem, durability with AB. Wish they'd step up on quality control.

@@israeltorres4109 oh yea.. I mean the SA was in its environment in that box i had it in and the xfl just blew it away. I mean that xfl just played lowww. A low that was non existent with the SA. Tell you what, just a few days ago i was talking to my cousin. He has a single sub setup. A sundown like yours but in 12". I think he payed $350+ for that sub and he was telling me how he liked how the xfl played better than that sundown. He had the sundown HD. Its about the same as the xfl it just has a bigger magnet and can handle a little bit more. He messed up that sub though by playing it distorted. Hope i helped.
I run American Bass and Skar subs my issue with skar is the surrounding starts to crack after 6 months on the 8"s. Afyer they replaced the woofer twice I decided to buy my own surround and cone and rebuild the 8" 0 issue now.
Before you do your conclusion I ask that you add the dki by dark audio to your list of subs to test. It's got 15m more xmax than the xfl and is only $9 more than the xfl in price difference. A perfect contender and great bride to the evl
Chad Beverly dki is still the best sub for the price or the wolfram silver since they’ve switched to the 55mm coil like the dki uses over the aluminum coil they had on the silvers and golds
I have 2 american bass hawk 15s wired to 1 ohm and they are absolutely insane. I got a $18 db meter and it said they are hitting 114 db.. there’s just no way.
Sounds like you have an improperly tuned box or it’s possibly too small, maybe both. Figure out what cubic footage those subs like on American bass’ website, double it since you have two, and then make sure you have sufficient port area and proper tuning on the boxes you look for. Can google all this and check the manual on your subs.

Ahhhhh. Not gonna be all " reereer" but you do not want to trust cinder blocks to hold cars. They are strong with teh holes going up and down not the otheway .

I’m really interested in seeing what a Massive Audio SummoXL will do.Since the sensitivity is about 10 percent higher than its competitors.Which is supposed to translate to louder sound with less or equal power.But I have a VFL COMP 5K (American Bass).And after seeing this sub has me seriously considering 6 of these 15s on the 5k ran @ .66 ohms.
I had to xfls amazing subs but after 3 years the glue on the bottom pole plate will give out ruining the sub....it was sad cuz after I tore them apart after 3 years of major abuse the coils were still perfect except for the spot where the pole sucked to the side smashing the coils both subs were bought 6 months apart both installed at same time and both broke at the same time....so xfls r amazing but they will break and not because of the coils....I have now upgraded to 2 15 hds try them they r bigger and better then xfls
I bought them 5 years ago works great for 3 years then glue broke....they were the ones with the red stitching.....I think the newer version has white stitching
Hey just so u know a aluminum coil isn’t a good thing unless it’s winding height is more then 55mm for 55mm and less you’ll want a copper coil ceramic coated or not copper for 55mm or less like the dark audio dki uses hence why wolfram switched there silvers to a 55mm copper coil vs the old 55mm aluminum
Yeah man American bass makes a great woofer in the xfl. Im probably gonna trade my x-12s and maybe get something a little smaller like two xfl 10’s. Can’t beat that bang for your buck.

Out of the subs you’ve named the xfl is the best skar evl is okay but right now wolfram silvers dark audio dki resilient sounds golds and possible the new savard hiq 12 resilient gold list price is like 250 but if u message them u can get it for about 200-$220 resilient is a great company so is dark audio

I have a 1522 duel 2 ohm running on a planet audio 5k at 1ohm. It's tearing apart the inside of my SUV. It's tuned at about 34 htz. Great build by ntune located in Harriman Tennessee.

i notice all the beefy subs or spl subs new age subs what ever you call them have the same design..huge surround -non pressed paper with stiff dust caps...i remember cerwin vega came out with this in the 90's but they never last but they hold deep notes
Hey I enjoy your videos comparing all the brand and seeing how they stack up. To bad we don't have the same price market. these are over $400 in canada 😕 definitely not a budget sub. Most people run the avatars here because they are cheaper then anything from American. If they do pay the premium it's mostly for sundown like the x or z not budget subs. Keep up the good work lucky to have access to wide variety.

I have 2 of these in my set up but I think my box is a lil too small and I still feel like I'm not getting full potential out of um. I want to take out one of the subs and block the hole and just run one so that I have more enclosure space and see if it would sound better and play even lower. With 2 I'm currently running on a 3k amp @ 1ohms.
hmmm. seems xfl takes more power but the audiopipe bdc4 hits the lows better and has more excursion .. 17 xmax vs 22 on the bdc4 and plus the surround on it just looks plain sexy as hell

I love the XFL I once had a 15" XFL now I got a 18" Soundqubed hdx3 and love it. Still that XFL is king👑 for the price!

Floyd Beard I got a Skar zvx v2 15 for over a year and is been great and I pushing it hard a taramps hd5000 1 ohm
My only thought is the material of the surround of the 8" is to soft or poor quality.

Yes the audio pipe seemed to d a little better low end. But not a huge difference

The American Bass was built better. Both subs took everything my RP2000 could give them so on more power it’s hard to say with would last longer

Check out anything from Ampre the same level sub they offer is a few bucks more but comes with xtra voicecoils former all 3 spiders and cone

Xfl American bass are killer subs. I have 2 pair of 8in subs in my honda still working putting the other 2 8in subs and amps.

I have a 1522 duel 2 ohm running on a planet audio 5k at 1ohm. It's tearing apart the inside of my SUV. It's tuned at about 34 htz. Great build by ntune located in Harriman Tennessee.

I have one of custom softparts and it gets down ,love American bass running it with my rockford p1000bp and that bitch gets down low and hard I love it , I had a skar evl12 on a skar rp1500 and I will have to say the american bass hot harder and lower ,
i notice all the beefy subs or spl subs new age subs what ever you call them have the same design..huge surround -non pressed paper with stiff dust caps...i remember cerwin vega came out with this in the 90's but they never last but they hold deep notes

Hey I enjoy your videos comparing all the brand and seeing how they stack up. To bad we don't have the same price market. these are over $400 in canada 😕 definitely not a budget sub. Most people run the avatars here because they are cheaper then anything from American. If they do pay the premium it's mostly for sundown like the x or z not budget subs. Keep up the good work lucky to have access to wide variety.

I have 2 of these in my set up but I think my box is a lil too small and I still feel like I'm not getting full potential out of um. I want to take out one of the subs and block the hole and just run one so that I have more enclosure space and see if it would sound better and play even lower. With 2 I'm currently running on a 3k amp @ 1ohms.
Do you always run a single 12 in your ride? With all that room why not an 15 or 18 or 2 12s . You seem to have the electric power as well .
How big a difference did it make with the woofer inverted vs mounted regularly?
It sounded a little deeper inverted was very minimal different
hmmm. seems xfl takes more power but the audiopipe bdc4 hits the lows better and has more excursion .. 17 xmax vs 22 on the bdc4 and plus the surround on it just looks plain sexy as hell

Yea wanted a second one but guess im waiting. Still rocking the version 1 sub, no ribbed surround and coil is in great shape for being beaten on almost daily.
You can't go wrong with XFL's... Haven't ran this new style yet, but I'm sure it's legit. Put 2 of these on a 3500 and send it...

I'm running 2 db drive wdx 2ks on a ct sounds ct2000 amp. Do you think these subs will be way better? my current woofers get real hot when playing low bass and it's annoying.
