    Even after 30yrs as an owner, we hit this cycle and it’s important to put your blinders on.
    New guys feel defeated and quit and then all the callbacks come in. And they miss out on the payday.
    Experienced sales people go through a drought and then comes the doubt. Stick with it and grow through it.

    The rollercoaster of emotions in this industry is absolutely a real thing and it helped me a lot early on to hear more seasoned guys talk about it. Just had my year anniversary in this industry in June and I’m still growing in the personal development area 💪🏼 this channel has been a great resource for me 🙌🏼 thank you!

    Great motivational video, love it, sales is sales, I don’t even do roofing or strictly sales, but I have done my share of door knocking , and I can attest to it, it works well if you can be consistent, found this video because I’m doing a roof tomorrow to stay busy, and also picked up another job just by doing a 3rd follow up with another customer, follow up is key.
    When you get a sale and pick up up a big job it feels great. Keep up the good work ,and don’t get discouraged , remember the harder you work the luckier you get.

    Great content as usual. Have been watching and learning from you for some time now. I do have a quick question for roofing in general, should I be knocking every single door (like I did when I was in the solar industry) or should I be cherry picking the roofs that look like they need attention?

    • @TheRoofStrategist
      @TheRoofStrategist  2 роки тому +3

      LOL appreciate it man. Funny story about the haircuts... I used to have a nice haircut. Then one day (early on) I went to get a haircut at a budget place while traveling. The barber put my hat back on and said, "You're going to need this..." I got home, took my hat off, and realized he had BUTCHERED my hair beyond repair. So I shaved it.
      I kept it shaved because I didn't trust anyone. And I felt like getting it cut was a waste of time.
      So after that... I just let it grow out. Just a different way to deal with the no haircut attitude :)
      I decided to donate my hair to Locks of Love and finally found a barber I can see regularly.
      There ya have it. Far more than you asked for :)
      Thanks for the comment. Have a great week, Ryan!

    I’ve been doing roofing sales for going on 3 weeks now, and I watch your videos religiously. The biggest thing I have an issue with is door knocking, and feeling like I’m only bothering people, Either early in the day or after they get off work with that obnoxious uninvited knock at the door. What is something that made door knocking easier to “stomach” for you and what kind of advice do you or anyone here have to make this seem easier to jump out the car and get to it?

      @@TheRoofStrategist thank you for answering back! Crazy thing is, a day or so after posting this and really getting down on myself I decided to stop worrying about the outcome and just do it. It was a mindset shift that just clicked and I actually had some success! I have my first official adjusters meeting tomorrow on a solid potential buy, the positive mindset really made a big difference in my approach and the confidence started to shine which got an overall better response than before. Thank you so much for these videos and especially taking the time to reply, I appreciate it a lot!

    The truth is that nothing lasts forever, laws are changing and as this becomes more popular as a career it gets noticed by the Big Boys, trust me, a couple more years this will be a thing of the past.

    How did the guy who took 3 months to start making sales survive? What did he eat? How did he pay his bills? If I'm starting a new job, nobody can afford to not make any money for 3 months. I started the first week of January, signed my first contract, and I'm broke, won't get any checks for any jobs I sell for weeks. If the first job I sold comes thru, I can expect a check in a couple of weeks for some work I did today, but that's if the approval comes through. So, there is a lot of wasted time and energy and effort just for stuff to fall through outside of the salesmans control, but then you don't get paid
