Thank you SO much for such a patient tutorial! I had started a blanket in this stitch and put it down when summer came. I finally picked it up this week after having brain surgery in September and the video I had been using was too fast and I couldn't pick it up again. I was getting ready to throw it away. Thank you for helping us who are new or need a slower tutorial. You've earned a follower! 😁
Thank you so much. I have tried to make this stitch following others directions and have failed miserably. You were the first person who I was able to understand.( I was making my mistakes at the end of the rows) You also taught me how to read the stitches which made all the difference. Many thanks!
I am a slow learner, in that for over 10 years I have done basically the same style of stitch, decided to learn the waffle stitch, you were the 2nd one I watched, so glad I found you, awesome instructions, plan to watch other videos for other stitches!! Thank you
This is by far the best tutorial I have seen for a beginner for this stitch. I was able to follow along easily and my work actually looked like the video! Thank you so much and keep the videos coming,,,,,,,
This is the best video. I could never get this stitch to work. Your instructions are perfect. I can never figure out where people are pointing but you made it so clear. Cant wait to check out your other videos. Thanks
I've tried to follow along with a few other tutorials for this stitch but never seemed to be able to get it right. Your tutorial is very easy to understand and I can't wait to give it another shot. Thank you!
Omg I can not express how much gratitude! I tried to follow another person’s and I had to take it all out cuz her instructions were very different and hard to understand or see and she went to fast. I just started my crochet journey this month so this is perfect for me! Thank you thank you. I was ready to just give up.
This is by far the best Waffle stitch video I have watched. All the other ones didn't explain it well at all. I just couldn't get it. But after watching your video ONCE I am now able to do the Waffle stitch! Thank you so much for posting this video!
Thank you.😊 I have been trying to figure this stitch out for the longest. I even came up with and alternating waffle stich, by accident. 😁 Other vids were not as patient as you. Plus, you showed the back side of the stitch. Nobody really shows that. Now it clicks. I'm not making anything with it yet. I am just going to do it row after row until I get it down pat. Thank you again.☺
THANK YOU as I too have been with other tutorials and have gotten confused or they just go too fast! YOU are SOO GREAT IN YOUR TEACHING US PATIENCE AND EXPLANATION OF THE STITCH PATTERN!! NOWW IT WILL BE FUN TO START MY BLANKET FOR MY DAUGHTER!!! 😃 Be Safe & Stay Well!🙏 Thanks again!
I was looking for a better way an easy way to make the waffle stitch an I come across yr video an I like it u explain it so that I'm going to try it thanks so much
Thank you so much for this clear and easy tutorial!! I tried several times using another tutorial and was getting very frustrated. 😂 now I’ve learned the stitch and am ready to make a waffle stitch baby blanket for our little boy due in June. ♥️
Thanks for this tutorial. I used Red Heart ombre in several different dye lots (yuck, usually) but it turned out fine. A great way to hide dye lot variations. Made another with solids and created stripes. I love the texture it creates and that it's totally reversible.
What an awful shame you're not able to find the yarn to finish your blanket! It's just lovely! I hear your little one! Good luck! Thank you for this very clear tutorial! You're a grand mum!
The camera was not in focus a lot. I would have liked it cleared it possible but your pattern was easy to follow. Also saw the Yarn Bee Comfy white on Etsy if you are still looking.
Thank you for the video. The only thing I found was Bee cozy occasion in white at Hobby Lobby. Maybe they replaced it with that. Try reaching out to them.
thank you so much for the clear and precise instructions. I've been trying to learn this stitch for ages and the end/beginning of the rows always messed me up! that little hdc instead of a DC makes all the difference.
Hi. I LOVED this tutorial! Thank you so very much. Please tell me if you can.... I realize the chain stitch at first is 3+2. Okay. Got that. How many chains would you guess would be for a queen sized bed? My niece recently got married and I really like this pattern. I'm hoping to have it done for their anniversary. I hate it when I strived to make the right amt and it's either too long or to short. Drives me crazy. Thank you so very much.
Hi Sherrie I'm glad you enjoyed my tutorial! I googled the size of a queen blanket and it says 84 x 92 inches so when making your starting chain just keep chaining your multiples until your chain measures around 84 inches. Then keep working up the project until it measures 92 inches. Also it said those dimensions will leave a 12 inch drop off the bed so could always make it a bit smaller and it would still be big enough. I hope that helped!
A LONG time ago, I was making hot pads - similar to this waffle stitch but it was about 1" thick" and I thought I started out with a grid like 6-7" squared, then worked the 1" tall "waffles" ? Does anyone remember this? if so how was it done? Ive slept since then. LOL
Thank You so much for this video...I have been trying this stitch for a long time now and this is the very first video that I could follow!!!! Awesome job!!! Can't believe how simple you make this waffle stitch!! Keep up the good work! And hope you find your white yarn!
Hi!, do you mean the edges of your work straighter? In this video I explain how to finish each row. I'd suggest going back and rewatch that part and make sure your doing that part correctly, hope this helped!
@@crochetbitznknits2066 no not edges the waffle itself should I use bigger hook? Using Bernat yarn says 8mm hook and if I have 104 foundation (mult of 3+2) my 2nd row is 103 ?
@@tessalubi37405 oh ok, if your useing the Bernat yarn that is very soft and plush feeling, from experience that yarn doesn't turn out well with this stitch, but I would try a bigger hook if you feel like things aren't lining up, you could also be dropping stitches somewhere, your 2nd row and every row should be the same stitch count as your foundation row. Did you try making a sample swatch?
Thanks! @@crochetbitznknits2066 if not Bernat yarn what yarn do u like that's soft. yes I did sample. I am using bigger (9mm)hook and will see how it goes. Is my 1st row too big maybe? I used foundation ch 102 + 2 - 104 (mult of 3 +2) have 103 stitches in 1st row
@@tessalubi37405 @Teresa Mustaffa yes I would try making a small sample swatch, this was your not wasting time chaining and doing trail and error on a large project. Also bernat yarn can be a learning curve to work with especially when it comes to seeing the stitches so you don't miss any. Then once your sample swatch comes out the way you want, move on to the larger project! 😊 I am totally guilty of skipping sample swatches and regretting it lol but they really do help with the finished project you want to make! There are a few different ways to start this stitch if the multiple of 3 +2 is not working for you try a just multiple of 3.. so for a sample swatch try a chain of 12. Let me know how it goes!
This is the waffle stitch I didnt use a pattern. Try to google waffle stitch and you will probably find a written explanation of the stitch, hope this helped!
Thus was great! You’re a great teacher. Thank you
I loved this. This is by far the BEST tutorial I have ever seen.
I'm so glad I looked through my library for a baby boy blanket, thank you for posting. I love that you really make it simple to follow your tutorial
