Another Tony George failure.
@@robminmonaca - I'm still angry the IRL didn't fail.
Dan Arnets well it did fail in terms of the series going back to road courses for most of the schedule and only stayed alive by the endless IMS bank account and nascar revenue from Brickyard 400. If it didn’t have the Indy 500 this would have not been a legit professional racing organization.
Thanks so much for putting these up guys. The Northern Lights IRL era was some of the best oval racing, ever. Nice to be able to watch these again.
NTT IndyCar Series
You guys are awesome for posting up these races.
Mad love for letting me rewatch these.
Some of the most beautiful and famous liveries! The Purex, Pennzoil, Energizer, Menards...
R.I.P. Walt Disney World Speedway.
True i watched this race live
its sad that this track doesnt exists anymore, it would be fun see an race on nowday´s disney
It sort of does, but as public roads. Most of the course is still there.
@@NickG40 It's a bit shorter though. They enlarged the parking lot and paved over what used to be the front stretch.
Great upload. Thanks Indycar.
Remember the times of good and unforgettable races!!!!. Thank you for the video!!!. ;)
When will the races of this season be shown? In 20 years? Greetings from Germany .... ✌

It's very sad to know that Walt Disney World Speedway doesn't exist anymore.
Greetings from Brazil!
Love Every Minute of it ... Thanks..✌🏼.
Sam Hornish had horrible first race spinning then getting back on track and end up being stuck in front of Buddy Lazier as Eddie Cheever passed. He would bounce back to having fine drive at Kentucky leading the race. The Kentucky race opened the eyes for Panther Racing to sign him to replace retiring Scott Goodyear.
Rip Disney
Rob Plays brought me here
First year IRL sounds like indycar
Yes, this was the year Oldsmobile switched to singleplane V8s. The few crossplane engines you still hear are the one Infiniti engine left, and the Foyt cars, which were still using the older crossplane V8s in 2000 (they switched to the singleplane in 2001).
one of those cars could pay for the speedway
If the death didn’t happened then indycar today at this track would be awsome
Start your ENG-YUNS
Crapwagons can fly.
They should bring back this race but rather on a parking lot street course!

👍👍
I wonder what it would be like if Indy Car would run on short tracks like Bristol, Martinsville?
Bristol is too short, but the big problem will be the high banking, and Martinsville is more the heart of Nascar , but they will return to Richmond next year, in a Saturday night race, like in the old times.
They tried it at Dover but it was a disaster in 1998.
I remember Bob Jenkins never was much of an announcer. Here was always having to be corrected about his info. Good guy though. The IRL back then had some really good racing. It's even better now. Not many cameras back then so they didn't catch alot of the accidents. They also didn't have that stupid Push to Pass mode on the car's either. The driver had to fight to pass.
so was murray walker...but few complained, because he loved the sport. so did bob.
james daniels As a side note, P2P isn’t available on ovals, so the drivers still have to pass organically on ovals. And as you said, the racing seems even better now.
@@railfan220 plus, p2p only gives them a bit of hp for a few seconds. i'm not a fan, but it's here to stay. embrace it.
Swine Brothers true. I’ve never had a problem with it. It’s a tool/resource that drivers have to manage (like fuel), and unlike DRS, drivers can use it to both attack and defend. I wouldn’t like it much if only the trailing driver could use it, although I know some drivers have suggested doing that.
"Bob Jenkins never was much of an announcer"
Let's see you do it, dude. Otherwise shut your mouth.
This racing was just god awful.
