I miss the Walt Disney World Speedway, the Mickyard. From famous racetrack of NASCAR, INDYCAR Series, Richard Petty Driving Experience and Luxury Cars turned into parking lot for more customers.
The track’s location is what doomed it. The problem is there was not enough parking for the race fans so they had to use parking lots that is normally for Regular customers
This track was awful, it was a single groove snoozer. No great loss really.
@@AlonsoRules Put the Xfinity car out there and watch magic. Obviously we can't but I think it could have done something.
I never knew i passed this track so many times
Tony Stewart won an Indycar Race at WDW speedway
The first ever IRL race in 1996
@@27pattywhack2 No, Buzz Calkins won the first IRL race in 1996 at WDWS.
Eddie Cheever won in 1997
@@27pattywhack2 Stewart actually won it in '98 (the year before he went into CUP)
The thumbnail makes me say:
YOU'VE MADE A BIG MISTAKE PAL
Good thing this footage is in 4:3 & not 16:9. That Truck race at Richmond from ‘97 had no business being cropped into 16:9. This is 110% better!
I was at this track when I went to Disney world and (this part I forget) I either stood next to OR got in a NASCAR craftsman truck number 43. I can never forget however.....seeing Jeff Gordon's car at the entrance of the track
Kinda funny how me and a friend were talking about the track yesterday
It's to bad this track is gone this was a good race
I was there! I was 16 years old!
They need to upload the i-70 speedway races since it's now reopened
This track is if original Phoenix and original Homestead had a child.
It was shaped similar to Nazareth
Thanks NASCAR for the upload.
28:07 "We be Blimpin'" love Dave Despain
Rest in peace Disney World Speedway
Bring back Walt Disney World speedway for the NASCAR craftsman truck series 2023 season on the schedule back to its roots
Thanks NASCAR I appreciate it.
54:48 oh man... what a big hit for Michael Waltrip
1:19:25 another big hit, this time it's Ron Hornaday
English: Ka Chow
Italian: Ka Ciao
As a Disney and NASCAR fan I wish all 3 series in NASCAR came back to this track if the speedway weren’t demolished back in 2015
Wow can't believe it hasn't been said yet but yeah RIP John Nemecheck (Joe's brother/John Hunter's uncle & namesake)
He died at Homestead (When it was in its old reconfiguration) anyways R.I.P.
This may be a stupid question..... Why didn't dale earnhardt want to run the 3 TRUCK?
If I had to guess levi raceway from the EA nascar games is based off Walt Disney world speedway. It's like a mini Pocono. Speaking of which if Pocono ever wanted to make their track into a mile or under they should make it exactly like walt disney speedway since the track doesn't exist anymore. I think it would be a great idea since most fans don't really care for the racing at the 2.5 mile Pocono.
Concord Speedway was the track it was based on. This track was similar to Nazareth.
Am I the only one who wants to see Rudd's 98 Martinsville win?
I want them to upload ALL the races from the 90s especially the 1995 Save Mart Supermarkets 300
24 hours of Disney
Like green one
Man I wish they didn’t demolish it
Fun Fact: Bob Keselowski's (#29) son would go on to win a Cup Series Championship and be a widely respected veteran of the series with tons of wins.
somehow win a championship? uh, he drove a car and won several races. you act like it's rocket science.
@@SwineBrothers I think he's actually talented.
Sorry for upsetting you
@@isaacmckissick1068 it's weird seeing people calling brad's championship in 2012 a fluke. if it was the non-chase championship, brad would still have won it in 2012.
@@isaacmckissick1068 well the comment suggested you subscribed to the fluke championship theory. you don't win 30 plus cup races without talent haha.
Nice
I wanna see the track on iracing
This track was torn down in order to improve parking there.
The mikeyard
S1apShoes:
They didn't spend much to build this track, as compared to other tracks.
Little too much bump in that bump and run
Disney waste money on this track to just run a few years
It wasnt a waste of money, it literally only cost $6million to build. They ran multiple national races there then had racing schools after. Its demise was due to Disney needing more parking for the Magic Kingdom. For a company like Disney, it was an easy choice. The only permanent structure from the beginning, was the racing surface itself. Even the grandstands were temporary from the get go.
Disney take over nascar
This was before NASCAR was ruined by the chase and playoff formats.
Battias Henderson the chase was actually good the playoffs are so skewed
I sure like them
Chase Elliott oh we know that😂
I enjoy the playoffs. Other sports have them, what difference does it make
@@chevy2666 ryan newman had 8 wins in 03 and still lost the championship with the old format. Get with the times or get lost in the dirt
