A torch now works for giving a comfort buff which saves the need for carrying campfires, just drop it on the floor, sit down and you'll get at least the minimum rested. Respawn points will also give a basic level of rested as long as its not raining. The torch will also reduce the "wet" buff timer much faster than waiting for it to tick off, same with other heat sources like fires and altars. You don't need to tie yourself into a specific gear set, caster gear has low melee resistance so mixing in a melee part will help. There's no set bonusses and the cosmetic system lets you maintain your look.

My list is long haha. I love looters like Borderlands/Wonderlands, Outriders, Diablo, Last Epoch, Grim Dawn etc. And really just RPGs in general. Also been getting more and more into survival games lately as you can probably tell. Valheim is great! And I’m determined to finally get into No Man’s Sky soon. I’ve tried to get into it like a handful of times at this point, but I always get distracted by other games. We actually recently picked up Don’t Starve Together but haven’t tried it yet. And I’ve never tried Conan - thanks for the recommendation, gonna put it on my list and keep an eye out for a sale. I’m also REALLY excited for Subnautica 2. Unfortunately there is no way I’ll convince my girlfriend to play that one with me.
Technically the should potions DO increase your maximum time in the shroud when you are in it, but it does not increase the maximum AND add time. So, yeah, the max is increased, but since you are currently in it, you don't gain that additional time. I've always said they should just remove Double Jump from the perk tree and make it a free unlock at like character level 10 or something.
Exactly! I had foolishly thought they’d also add to the existing timer before trying one, and so I popped one with like 20sec left on the timer, when I couldn’t make it out, only to realize that I still only had 20 seconds to go lol That’s actually a really good point with double jump. It really should be baseline in some capacity and unlocking at level 10 would be an awesome reward. So I’m all for that idea.
@@RascallyRasmus Nah wouldn't say that's foolish. It does make sense. Though I'm not in game to check the exact wording. (Even then though I think the devs are German? So some of their wording might be interpreted differently even with perfect translation.) Oh jeez, yeah, last second thing won't work. I think I did that too back in the day hehe.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure the devs are German. I just read the actual description on the flask though and it specifically says that “the flask must be taken before entering the shroud”, so I guess that mistake could have been avoided easily if I had actually bothered reading it haha. My guess is that it’s a relatively common mistake, which is probably why they put it in the description.
@@RascallyRasmus Hunh. Wonder if that was added later. I don't remember that. :) Yeah, again I'm pretty sure most of us did what you did the first time we used it. One of those "I'll save it until I need it" kinda things.

And you can take over houses in enshrouded ...put down a alter and boom rebuild...I took over a whole village ... with the new DLC you will want a lot of room..no spoilers why lol...
If you can find the Necropolis, it's one HUGE building, basically a cube, so it's easy to navigate. An absolute shit-ton of room. We took it over, and it required about 30 seconds of work to get it livable.
It is the Blue Goblet Tavern in Revelwood - you can see my map location at 3:20 Otherwise I have time stamped at the end of my other Enshrouded tips video :)
My main tip I need is: Is there a better place to build than another? Or can you just start building in an early area and then just use those alters to portal around but not have to rebuild your base in a better "later game" area?
That is a very good point! I should definitely have included that in the video because this was something we were unsure about too when we started. You can build wherever you’d like and just fast travel to altars. There is no particular benefit to having your base in a specific zone. The only risk is that you might find an area that you like better in terms of aesthetics later on haha.
I think it would mostly come down to personal preference, but I like to build in places that are high up. It basically acts as an extra point to glide from.
Thank you! That's a good question. I'd probably start by lowering both enemy & boss damage & reducing the amount of enemies to 'few' while adjusting combat experience up to compensate. And then tweak the settings as needed from there. Alternatively you could enable 'Pacify Enemies'. Then they'll only attack once attacked so you can choose when to engage in combat. If you wanna do more building and less resource gathering you could also consider increasing the loot amount, which you possibly should do as a baseline if you reduce the amount of enemies.
8:53 respec is no longer 10, it increases every time you reset your skill points now im not sure if its depends on your level or not but it cost me over 100 runes to reset my character and im level 23
Thanks for pointing that out! The patch changed it to, I believe 1 rune per skill point instead. So cheaper in the very early game and then progressively more expensive the more skill points you get.
man the game looks so beautiful on your pc, i have a good pc that def should run it on 1440p but i can't seem to remove the stuttering from the background
Urgh that's annoying. What does your settings look like? I run everything on quality or max quality except 'Fog Quality' & 'Point Light shadows which I have on performance & 'Volumetric Shadow Quality' on balanced. I also have DLSS Enabled (Quality). Could maybe also be something wonky going on with the 'Limit Framerate in Background' setting? Maybe try disabling that?

"Strengthening the flame" works across all your flame altar's. Upgrading the individual altar's with shroud cores only increases your base building area. So you should only be upgrading them if you need the extra space to build on.
I think it is. I'm right with you on farming for arrows. Not a fan of it. I believe there is one 'eternal arrow' in the game - but it's not the highest damage option.
@@RascallyRasmusit’s pretty mana dependent too. I completed every part of the game from its original launch and it was just wand meta. started enshrouded today. i’m still a bit overwhelmed with the base building system or it feels a bit clunky to me… so i have to ask, is this house / base all self build? ^^ or is it some kind of refurnished structure.. cause the big open house inside looks really amazing
I’m with you on that. Building is quite versatile but takes some getting used to. Our current base is indeed a refurbished tavern in Revelwood, so I unfortunately can’t take credit for the design. There are a lot of structures across the game that easily can be turned in to a base so keep an eye out for one you like :)
I haven’t really used 2 handed melee weapons much so can’t say how those are, but I generally think most weapons are viable, even if some things are stronger than others. Melee used to struggle with flying enemies but the new skill allowing you to hook flying enemies with your grappling hook should help with that. In my experience daggers are pretty decent for single target but not so great for multiple enemies. Where as 1h melee (and presumably 2h melee) is better at hitting multiple enemies at once. Bow seems to be pretty good but does require that you craft good arrows and invest your skill points into making it better. I think the reason a lot people are using wands is that wands is the only ranged option that doesn’t require either arrows, or mana to use. Personally I’m currently using it as a gap-filler when I need to regenerate mana in between casting spells. Hope that makes sense :)
Larger, late game enemies are pretty difficult to near impossible as melee. Classic rpg bullshittery. Hopefully the grappling hook addresses that, havent gotten that far on my new play through.
