Well damn what a great episode!
The Killer Animeman because some people think any change from source even when it’s good it’s bad.
Chibi Reviews indeed
No Chibi The Rinko and Kayaba scene is from Novel, they just rearranging things, the Scene with RInko flashback is actually later in the novel, and it had a lot more info as well, but since they gave us this part early, they probably will give us the rest of the info about Rinko an Kayaba later on as well.
( they might cut their early meeting and how Rinko actually confess to Kayaba and ask him out and kinda forced him to notice her, since he was always just into his VR Dream )
That Said, the Klein and other girls part was anime original, the Augma was added in anime from the movie, in novel it was mostly Asuna, and the other girls were not there.
only Suguha and Sinon were there to talk about Rath.
Also Kikouka never show up in hospital so they had to spend quite a while before figuring out it's Rath that kidnap him.
*but I didn't like 1 thing about this EP* they cut the Ambulance scene ! it show us how asuna was so devastated after Kirito got hit and his heart stop ! and how Asuna was able to calm herself and tell the ambulance guy about the name of the Drug, which is fking hard to remember, and save Kirito's life ! coz if she did not do that, Kirito would have died.
it was a big and emotional scene they cut off.
Btw, Yui was not able to hack Rath security or anything, she only hacked a random university's database to change Rinko's assistance picture to Asuna's fake picture.
so when Rath got the data from that university for Facial recognition and stuff, they already got a fake data ! so asuna was able to come in !
No the Kayaba Akihiko bit is not totally original, I think it was done in the LN latter through talking to Asuna it's actually missing the part where she explains how she found him also and how she didn't go to the police with the information that she likely knew where he was. We knew for a fact that they were a couple. So it's from latter in the light novel, but it is not wholely new content, but the prospective is different as you are reliving her memory rather than Asuna being told the reason that Kayaba gave her for making SAO.
She also talks about how there relationship was one sided with her loving him, but him just going with the flow rather than him actually being enamored with her. Technically if they have the same conversation it would have been expanded upon marginally, but it's not as big as you make it out to be.
I haven't really had a soft spot for Sao but this adaptation is almost too tempting not to watch.
can I watch this without watching the other SAO's?
@@neziahyoung1815 there's a lot of things in the newest season that have to do with both season 1 and season 2, like for example: characters and locations. I also highly recommend watching the movie that came out last year. It's on Hulu
@@neziahyoung1815 no
@@neziahyoung1815 I mean you can but I dont recommend it, as the characters wont be introduced the same way and this mostly focuses on the underworld so the side characters will be blank
In which order should I watch before starting this one?
Asuna’s English on point
She is going to America so it would make sense that she knows some english
@@michaelsologor2130 And she also a rich girl so that help as well
she also voices 02 as well from Darling in the Franxx. Saying Darling for more than a hundred times probably made her good at speaking english.

I knew that was Asuna the whole time without being SPOILED or reading LN. That was the first thing that came to mind, and it was a bit suspicious that they didnt show us or her eyes so I was like yup, that's definitely her
The opening actually spoiled it
@@mohddanialakmal2781 Oh it did? Imma go watch the Op real quick.
Edit: Just watched, and yeah, she's on the turtle taking off her sunglasses
@@Leon-bn9bg haha.. Thats why i dont like watching the op. But this op is kinda hard to skip.
Same here. It was the fact that they weren't showing her face that most tipped me off. Also, it seemed to make the most sense from a story-telling perspective for it to be her.
Still loving this series though.
I was like, THE BIG REVEAL!!! Jk, shit was easy to read.
Make SAO Great Again™
This season is the only SAO season that is great tho...
Ii enjoyed the entire series of SAO tho..

Mitro why would they make a show if money isn’t the main reason
First to say "Bless your dog"
Thank you!
This is easily the best SAO season I’ve seen tbh. I’m happy you got me into it.
I knew it was asuna because she was wearing the outfit that's in the opening song lol
same
Keeps getting better and the animation is amazing!!
Rich girl Asuna gotta have those connections
Thank you chibi. Always know I can find a brother in you that appreciates episodes like this.
After watching it all the comments on the episode were about people calling it a filler and not progressing the story since there's no action. No appreciation for the little things...
An isekai explaining how it's an isekai?!??!
NANI MY MIND IT HURTS BUT IT WANTS MORE
That recursion
Isekai? Isekai literally means a dude getting transported to another world. So is SAO an Isekai when the story revolves around people playing VR games?
@@Qopa said is a isekai because in each one of the season they are transported to another world even if it is VR they are still in the world this arc alization is more of a isekai cause npc actually act like humans the people in Thier get memories wiped when they enter it unless something goes wrong in kiritios case and while there are sword skins in the game there is taste authentic pain feeling and other stuff in alization
Sword Art Online. Love this anime 😍😍😍
Anime onlys were you at. Oh Just me ok
RIGHT HERE!
It’s like everyone has read the light novel or are pretending to have read it lmao.
here
Aye!
ayy
I thought the Asuna twist was pretty obvious...anyone else?
Zorrin Nomber it was so obvious that it honestly would have been better to just make it so we know it’s actually asuna.
Watching on my phone at break at 3 am I was fooled didn't once think of Asuna.
It's Jelly I’m blaming you for that one
hackrabbits it’s the obvious things they did. First mistake, they had asuna get in contact with the doctor RIGHT BEFORE she was contacted by RATH. Second mistake, they used the typical “assistant” trope which, I’ll let slide but It still makes it less convincing to me just because of how common it is. And third they blocked her eyeballs both when she had the glasses on and when she took them off: literally a dead giveaway to the fact that it was a secret identity and who else is that gonna be? The goblin slayer? Fuck no it’s asuna
@@everettrahn6182 Yeah after the reveal I felt I should of realized, but it was too late. They got one person at least lol.
My inner sarcasm:
Kirito died/was near death?
NAAAAHHH, his plot armor is thicker than that.
The thing is that SAO is written long ago so the author has more time to revise some part that might have been lacking at the time
Slowing things down, and expaning more on this content is what I love about SAO rn
I have a coworker who had a heart attack while at work. His heart had stopped for 30 minutes before the paramedics were able to revive it. It took him a couple weeks to come out of it, but he functions physically and mentally just like he did before the heart attack. Though that is not usually the case, I know.
I just wanted to say you're my favorite anime/manga reviewer! I honest to god have only enjoyed Gun Gale Online arc and now Alizication, i never liked any of the other arcs of SAO… but this one is so… man… so GOOD. I even feel tempted in reading the light novels but I think it will be a better pay off if I just wait for each episode haha.
Ok after this episode I now understand the Asuna hype train
explain please because I don't
Kirito took 13 episodes to find asuna, asuna legit took a few 1/2 of one episode - she must be the SAO hide and go seek queen!!
Kikuoka, the govt official was the one assigned to keep track of the SAO survivors. I think he was the end of SAO and told Kirito which hospital Asuna was in when he woke up. He was briefly seen on Fairy Dance story arc. He plays AFO as Chrysteel.
I like the stuff they added with Klein and the others.
Gotta love the explanation of stuff in this episode imo
I’ve been really enjoying season 3, I love all the OS movie integrations into the anime and all the original material to expand it while still staying true to the core material of the novel. But I do wish they would stop cutting out so much close moments between Asuna and kirito. I am also pleased that they included more of the character involvements this early on because most of them have little to no parts until near the ending arcs. I was really happy to get a heavy Asuna and team focused episode it was needed, and that scene with yui talking to her about how it’s her turn to save him was my favorite part.
i like how Asuna isn't useless, this season.
Yup! THIS season! THIS season out of ALL of the Sword Art Online series I've seen so far (don't get me wrong I enjoy this series for what it is but of course it has its short comings but this season!) is one of THE best ones I've seen so far! So much more mystery going on into it! Just so much more for old characters to do! If this season keeps this up I'm pretty sure it will make a lot of SAO fans really really happy! And Asuna's English totally fooled me too! Thought she was a totally different character also!
This arc is really awesome, reminds me of how i felt when i saw the first arc of SAO. I'm just happy that Asuna was not rendered useless again
Hamad Bin Faisal She wont appear again until the end of the arc, anyway alice is the best for me XD
Not watching this season of sao
Because I read the light novel and it WAS SICK AS FUUUUU-
yeah.
Now I'm concerned. What kind of "sick" exactly, cause if there is another demented rape scene then screw this anime.
how so
Cyber Coyote lol you wold hate goblin slayer
@@hollowlegend1131, are you aware of the infamous "elf arc" of S.A.O.? It seems he's implying that this next season is more....legally questionable.
@@jakeaffleck3307 yeah, I was expecting something totally different going into that one. If I had known it was similar to berserk I wouldn't have tried to watch the first episode.
Concerning doctoring the reference photo, we should also remember when this is happening: July 4-5, 2026, the sestercentenial of the United States, over a weekend, during the World Cup. It's completely plausible that nobody notices the student profile being hacked, because they'd be shorthanded and only concerned with high-priority data.
Lot of good things have been said about Alicization. I certainly need to watch it when I have time
Youre so evil xDDD that non-spoiler part really had me dead
They knew people wanted more klein time, and they are delivering, im happy
kayaba's voice is so satisfying to hear. IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME??
So is anyone else reminded of that one scene in rick and morty when Rick puts a headset on mortys head for a game called Roy and he lives a entire life at high speed with no memory of his real life when they watch this arc?
Or is that just me?
Damn a whole year of this redeeming piece of cake sign me up!
Sadly it won't be a year. It will likely be split cour like with AOT
Can’t believe A-1 only does series like SAO right but when it came to Magi,Blue exorcist,Sins, etc they were like “mmmmmm.....nah”
Magic man I’m pretty sure it did get a second season
@Magic man ....
The ending of this ep gave me hope that this season will actually be good since their bringing back the best character
DO. NOT. F$&K. WITH. ASUNA'S. MAN PERIOD. XD
I was really impressed by the English. Most anime have terrible English even when it's supposed to be an English speaker.
there is a 30 min window, and even then, there was someone who was cryo revived. after 5 hours with no side effects
one of the main complaints from season one is "oh he did all this but he forgot the reason" so basicly they just went and added a layer to calm the wound caused by that plot hole
I was more impressed on how Asuna was able to hold in the urge to give the guy a punch to the face in the end. Dude basically kidnapped a hospitalized Kirito _without_ telling a thing to his damn family. Surely that shit's somehow illegal, right?
Pretty sure they got consent
90 procent of the thinks anime characters do are illegal in our world.
The guy got permission and put a gag order on his guardian asuna basically broke the law cause of feels
Pretty sure she'd get put in a prison for doing that. That place is like a military base.
Also, technically she's illegally breaking in. She can get many years in jail for that alone, not to include all the millions she's gonna owe them if they'd decide to sue her aswell.
I kinda figured it was Asuna because her outfit matched the outfit from the opening
The thing is this got so much better
It doesn't even look like the same series
Also I dropped the novels when the third (or was it forth?) red army appeared
I was just like asuna
Just stop already author-kun the same trick only works so many times before it gets annoying
Should I continue reading?
I saw a copule of ilustrations for the volumes that come after and I wanna know how did “that" happened
but ... you know ... sao
I couldn't tell the voice actress at all when Asuna was speaking in English, but I kind of guessed it was Asuna. Because of the sunglasses, and them deliberately not showing her face during face recognition... I knew it was an important character, and who would sneak in with Rinko? My immediate suspicion was Asuna.
nownow, 1st goal have to be to get the studios to adapt the series from the source material and after that we can talk about adding to the narrative!
Good episode, I was surprised Kirito was somewhere else other then japan ._.
I knew it was Asuna from the beginning! And I didn't even read the novels. 😂 That plot twist was pretty obvious. Kkkk
I haven't read the light novel, yet I was unsurprised that it was Asuna, since it made sense to me that Asuna was going to find a way to sneak in (then there's that OP image of Asuna being on Ocean Turtle).
I need to read the LN tough... it's sitting on my desk and should be my next novel I do read.
I wish kayaba got his own anime or light novel, like even though he says he forgot his dream, the guy literally was working as a developer since he was like 16, his life in itself is a great story, just a boy who dreamt about a floating castle who eventually created and saw his dream come true even if he had to become the villain, a good character. And Rinko is just a goddess
Good episode but had a few faults this week and missed opportunities, Asuna found the ocean turtle too too quickly and a really really good scene from the manga was skipped the one where Asuna is having lots of thoughts and emotions to herself just as Kirito is stabbed with the paralysis
i'm really enjoying the animation in SAO. its so good.
I Haven't read the novel nor i have been spoiled, yet i could guess it was asuna, because she was looking for kazuto and was the one who set the email to that woman so it was kinda obvious
I knew it was asuna when It cut from rinko seeing a email from asuna to her going into the ocean turtle with someone who the government didn't recognize
This is the real A-1 , the staff that works with passion half of whom are the previous staff of Gainax. That is why some of the anime that A-1 produces are fucking great and Sao s3 is an example of that, straight up quality.
its also a collab with Ufotable.
this basically confirmed all my theories from episode 1 about where Kirito is, what happened and so on
Nothing like your videos, to make Sunday better.
Could kinda tell it was Asuna because her clothes were the same as in the opening, and that shot in the opening seems to be on the Ocean Turtle lol
Klein finally getting development (Agil should too), it was good seeing Yui again and I got fooled with asuna's disguise especially her english
There is only one thing that i didnt like and it was the upsence of the ambulance scene when Kirito is carried away and Asuna was there, horrified and observing how Kirito's heart stops in her app, saying *You cant die, Kirito-kun. You promised me we would be together forever*
Well, I would've liked to see the ambulance scene, but besides that SAO Alicization is great
I mean I feel like the possibility of kirito being dead is pretty high judging by the fact that the vr he has been using is literally a soul translator in other words after he died before his soul was fully gone they plugged him into the vr after dying so he is still alive soul wise but his body is dead. just a little theory I came up with.
Everyone’s gonna be questioning what’s real and what’s virtual as this arc progresses! Welcome to Alicization, everyone!!
Well Ghost in the shell and Matrix have already done that to me, but new things are always welcome
At first I thought that Asuna was disguised as the assistant, then I thought there was no way she’d be able to pass a facial recognition test, then I found out is really was her lol
Nah military installations that would even use facial recognition would have absolutely no clue if they were hacked properly and all these things were changed without prior suspicion of the person entering the facility or a significant amount of notice beforehand. They would see it as something normal especially since it was someone with technical expertise coming there and there would be no time to double check everything.
i have a question are you going to review Yagate Kimi ni Naru at any point?
I really don't care about old cast of characters, new world is way more intresting so this episode was really meh for me. I found myself skipping big part of it and I hope there wasn't major plot point there.
dets49 Seriously. I wanna see what’s going on in Underworld
50 Episodes really? I’m enjoying it so far tbh if they keep this up this is defiantly going to be the best season if not the only good season to be totally honest!
I didn't read the light novel and..... I was shocked when I saw it was Asuna.
Yep. Had some real doubt about wether it was asuna or not.
Asuna: Where is my husband!
Husbandooooo
To be honnest, I figured out it was Asuna due to the scene before and the fact they didn't show us her face in the facial scanning scene.
I remember they showed her left eye in the scan.
Actually... I noticed something weird about Asuna in this arc...
She became know-it-all when it comes to "Alice in Wonderland".
Loved that episode, Asuna was great!!
Ballzdeep 69 nice to see him again. Cant have the kirito harem without him.
I don't know about everyone else.I haven't read the light novel and neither was I spoiled and for me it was really obvious that the blonde character was Asuna because of the build up for that scene. It didn't really suprised me at all. Maybe it's just me
You should talk, if even briefly, about the opening credits, there's a lot shown in there and it seem that the credits have different scenes every episode.
Nah, it's kinda obvious it was Asuna who was with Rinko on the Sea Turtle. If you connect the dots, you'd knew even without reading the LN before or even get spoiled.
Well, they have the episode count to be able to give some characters shine.
I just read all the light novels and the only ones who actually know what's going on for a while are asuna, suguo and shinon. The keep it from the others for a while. I like this version more.
Having your heart stop for a couple will not affect you as much as you may think. My grandfather was declared dead 2 times in the past but he's still around. First time : his heart was stopped for 6+ hours. Second time : His heart was stopped for a little over 20 hours. He's now 80 & does many things people in their 40's wish they were able to do.
For example, who's sees an 80 year old hiking in winter to go sit in a stand for 6 hours, than hike back down. Barely anyone.
That's just incredible, hopefully he lives a fullfilling live!
Darkness Nighthingale i would love to believe you but on average 4-6 minutes of no blood being pumped results in the beginning of brain cell death... after 10 minutes they will usually be dead. I just can’t believe that he had no blood flow for as long as you claim, it doesn’t seem probably at all.
@@dylie weither or not you believe or not is up to you.
@@6th_Army i guess ur grandpa is basically god
@@dylie No, he was a woodcutter since he was 12. nowadays he can't do half of what he once was capable. Thing only reason he's alive is the free medical care.
Had a suspicion that it was asuna but when she spoke English it threw me for a loop
Nothing about that part of this episode they put the most effort on? Ugh show the cgi helicopter some love darn it xD
I did not like SAO in season 1 nor season 2. Would you say I should give this season a chance? or should I just not do it at all?
I knew it was Asuna, but I second guessed myself after she spoke English and passed the face recognition. She emailed the doctor who knows Kirito, so I figured she would get her on, so I knew, but the way they did it was pretty funny.
As an anime original, I did not know it was asuna
Nah, I didn't read the light novel and I realize that was Asuna, mainly because the mail she sent... and then because of the orange eyebrows
Kirito has main character armor he can't die!
*me, not having read the light novel, still longingly clinging to the Mother's Rosario arc and desperate for it to somehow remain relevant* : "i-if Kirito's soul/consciousness is here because he temporarily died, does that mean mAYBE YUUKI'S SOUL IS HERE TOO-"
I must say I wasn´t fooled for a moment, there was no dub on my mind that she was Asuna. only for a split second I doubted that it was Asuna and that was at the retina scan, but right away remembered they have Yui, I thought she was probably intercepting the scan in real time, but it was explainned they forged the data before hand and that it also was based on a real person.
Sao just makes me feel some type of way each time I watch
I still a bit hating people that read the novel and talk crap about the anime. Although I understand why they do that, and I am also read the light novel. "In the light novel they explain this better, explain that better blablabla...", it is anime dude, they release it once every week, don't talk crap about it until they finish everything that they wanna say. Who knows, what the next episodes about. Is it the explanation about previous episode, is it filler episode, is it next chapter of the novel? You never know until you watch it. You don't have the luxury of knowing the entire story of the anime at once unless it has finished airing.
What did you expect from anime of this year. 5 episodes already wins against every anime this year.
