I for one was bummed the Padres let you go Hoz. I know your teammates needed your leadership and that veteran leadership was definitely not there in 2023. That glue matters.
I think Holiday didn’t make the opening day roster so he wouldn’t get a full year of service. Therefore getting him to play for less than he should get longer. The Orioles kind of acted in bad faith there. Similar to what happened to Fernando Tatis Jr.
Couple point here. I think more fans care far less about what guys are making , unless they severly underhwhelm. Fans just want to see a good product on the field that has a legit chance to win and would all love their team to be able to spend like the Dodgers. Secondly, as frugal as we have heard Ohtani is no way he didnt know about the money. I dont think he gambled, i do think Ohtani probably green lit his friend to use money to help a guy who by all measure he was with daily and probably very close friends. Maybe he didnt know the full extent as far as how deep he was in debt, but i think he tried to help his friend and they just distanced him from this to avoid any blow back.
I agree. Fans are pocket watching way too much. The more I see comments on social media the more happy I am that fans don’t run the teams 😂.
Idk man, a fan who can't read or write could probably run the Pirates organization better then Nutting. He is despised and for good reason.
Excellent stuff here Hoz 🔥
