Just came across this video and it reminded me of when I had a month to start and complete my MSc Data Science project dissertation 😂 and was looking for videos like this for motivation.
If anyone is looking for inspiration, understand that you CAN do it!!
3/4 weeks I spent to conceptualise an idea, after which I designed and implemented a web application recommendation system. I wrote my 12000 word dissertation in a week (4 days were spent on Lit review).
Firstly I would STRONGLY advice not doing this! But if you’re watching this video then it is what it is I guess lol.
Some tips that helped me were:
1. I took two power naps 2-3 hours long every 24h.
2. Give yourself 10-15 mins to plan your day everyday.
3. Only eat in small portions (healthy food only) so you don’t feel tired and drink lots of water (only one cup of tea/coffee per day).
4. Most importantly remain calm, pray and trust God.
I got a merit btw but I’m never doing anything like that again in my life 🤣
I have 18 days left to do my MSc dissertation and I’ve not even started it yet. I’m watching these videos in the hope that it motivates me 😂

Amina thank you so much for this video ❤ I managed to write my masters thesis in 10 days using your advice. I was so anxious thinking about the page/word count and breaking down everything that I had to complete each day by section and task was essential! Making some progress each day was better than making no progress at all. What I thought would simply be a draft submission ended up being an approved final thesis with no revisions required. I’ve since gotten approval from my schools graduate committee for my thesis to be published. I’ll be graduating in May and I’m so thankful that the weight of school is officially off of my shoulders 🎓
I don't have two weeks, I have a lot longer, but I was still feeling overwhelmed and this definitely helped break it down and help me make some progress.

I have 30 days left to submit for an MSc in Biotechnology, I've had such a block regarding this and so many negative feelings leading to self-sabotaging behaviours. That's why I missed my hand-in date last year. I've basically done nothing all year again to now where I have just 30 days left. My supervisors seem to have given up on me, in fairness they have been helpful, I simply haven't put the work in. This is the last chance I have and I can't have wasted all these years. I can't quit, I won't quit. Doubt and fear can make you forget that you are smart and capable. That's what it did to me. No more. These will be the 30 days I use to change my life and beat this, beat my mind. I am capable and so are you. Hard work will pay off so I will learn to work hard! Good luck to anyone reading this, you got this!!!

Just wanted to say a huge thank you Amina!. I was really struggling to write my MA dissertation. After watching your video I realised I had gone about it in the wrong way. great advice, I will recommend this to my students, they are using youtube much more now I have set up a channel with examples of dissertations that I give commentary on
I have got 10 weeks to write about 80 pages. I will comment here on how much I have written every single day, starting today. Feel free to comment on how you are doing as well if you are in a similar situation. Maybe that will put some pressure on all of us in a good way, helping us to push through and complete whatever we are working on. :)

I have about 10 days to complete my dissertation. I have done the research, but I need to every other thing you have stated. My word limit is 3,500. I know it doesn't seem like much, but we don't really write much in my course, it's quite practical. I'm going to use this to motivate myself. I'm going to update how I'm doing.

Thank you so much, Amina, I've been following your channel for some time, and I am due to submit my MSc dissertation (bioinformatics analysis of blood human ageing tissues) by the 7th of October and I have to hand in a draft after 2 weeks T_T :S and I just started writing this evening :'( So stressed and so anxious but I have all my results and all my plots done, it's all now about writing and collecting the whole story .. @@sameergangat258 it was done on time :) I managed to submit my draft on the 7th of October and the final dissertation on 11th of October.. I got A2 for my dissertation, graduated with distinction and got two awards for my MSc; highest GPA and best dissertation presentation 😊

@@sameergangat258 the writing process wasn't easy.. But, my advice is to stay consistant.. I was writing everyday in the 2 weeks.. I would stay in the library for about 6 hours minimum.. I don't write directly in the word document, but I drafted plans, key words, important points on a paper and then write.. I had many tabs open for the research papers and the articles.. I divided each chapter on my laptop with its own articles for references so I would know what to use and where to look at it.. And the most important thing was eating healthy and go for a walk for at least 15 minutes a day.. The wost part was 3 days before submission.. I didn't sleep for around 36 hrs, but it all paid off
@@sameergangat258 yes, don't worry Sameer, you will definitely pass the dissertation. I was an international student as well in the UK for my MSc. Make a plan. Think of nothing but the dissertation and you will definitely pass it
i have 18 days left. i have read a ton and written like a third. 18000 words are required. most of what ive written is crap and i wrote it in like a couple days. ugh, and i want an A too, of course i do.

I'm entering my master's Msc in Archaeology in two weeks. I'm meeting with my tutor on Tuesday. I want to try my best to learn how to research, annotate, compile, assemble, and write a dissertation (its 10,000 words) to earn a 80% or higher. I have synesthesia so my brain works differently than most people's, such is my hurdle.
I havent written a single word. I keep getting distracted and going back to doing more analysis :(

I suggest you to write a concise mini book so the UG students have insight on how to start with thesis. Most of them even don't know what they are doing. lol!
