  • DIY - Nativity Stable under $25
I got this idea from a friend a work. He built one before Christmas for his nativity set and brought in some pictures. It is the perfect size for the popular plastic lighted set. After he added some lights and a star it looked awesome. I'll have to find me a new nativity set and add lights and a star for next years video to go with this one.
    My gear:
I use the Audio Technica AT2020 XLR because I wanted to be able to record music occasionally. If you do not need that then you could just go straight for the USB version and wouldn’t need the phantom power or extra cables. The external recorder is a must when using a cell phone and will help with audio sync when editing.

    XLR to USB cable: amzn.to/29YBoUW
    XLR Microphone cable: amzn.to/29YCe4g

My husband watched and made the Manger for my blowmold nativity set. He made if from scrap plywood /back section and 2x4s . We visited our local sawmill and was given the bark/wood slabs that are remnants from a tree once it has been squared, he trimmed and this was the overlay on the scrap wood. Hope my explanation makes sense. I'd post a picture but I don't see an option.. Our cost was $0.00 which is very rare these days.

I have an odd size holy family that did not come with a stable, it has bugged me and I’ve been looking for one for years to fit. Could these directions be used in a smaller scale, like 3/4 smaller? I’m not super handy with making stuff like this, but I might take on the challenge if it’s possible to make it that small? Thanks for your tutorial, it came out pretty neat!!

I plan to do that this year... we just used the standard lighted plastic molded ones for years. This year I am going to try two options one from metal and one from plywood.
