Taylor, I made a ton of snowflakes this year for sale and did very well. I also changed up the design slightly by adding a solid hexagon in the center to add my diamonds to for the larger version. For the smaller one I used two angles in the center, one at 30 degrees and the other at 60 degrees which closed up the hole in the center and gave full bearing for diamonds.
Thanks for the ideas, a solid hex was a good idea! I batched out a ton also, they were our top sellers at our Christmas Market. I’ll definitely be making them again.
@@edhiestand1197 Sure! Keep in mind that we live in Jax, FL, the cost of living is cheaper here than most states, so our price points are often lower also. Best easy Christmas projects I’ve seen in a while. Quick, cheap, simple & cute. I’m thinking of making a village. On a smaller scale. Something for under the tree.
Awesome Idea! Our newest Christmas project list should be coming out in a week or two and I am in the middle of designing a Christmas village. Thanks for watching!
#5 for the WIN! !! !!! Thanks for the ideas Footnote: I would not glue in the arms, my wife would yell at me when she had to wrap them up for the long summer in the attic.
Haha, good point. though they do bend pretty easily since it's picture wire. If I didn't glue them, I would probably drill thee holes much deeper so they wouldn't slip out as easy.
Pretty snowflakes--wish I had a table/miter saw--I'd be making loads of them to sit out on my porch and sell them. I loved the beveled Christmas Trees, and the small houses are always a quick & easy deco pieces.
Five lovely decorative ideas. Someone commented on using wood for a candle holder but you could use a battery operated one or use copper pipe sections to line the wooden holder.
When I made the snowflakes, I notched out my arm pieces, so everything just fits flush. It takes a little bit longer, but I really like the way it came out.
I can't decide which one I like best..I love ALL of them! Thank you for taking the time to make this video and for giving me great ideas for Christmas gifts for my adult children!
Just a tip. When you tie small knots and you don't want them to ever come undone, just place a drop of super glue on the knot. It will never come apart.
I love them all! Love that ribbon around the lights on the trees, snowman is wonderful and I love the block with the circles cut out for a snowman candle. Such creativity!
I wonder if you could make the snow man into a stacking toy? Make the center hole bigger. Have a half-inch dowel that could be removed. Snowman could be stacked anyway. Haven't figured out the arms yet. So they could be taken off or on. Nose could be an off/on. Hat could be a post like piece that could be set on top, or drill hole, make it come out the snowmans head, and have a hole in hat so it could be added to top.??? Just a idea to make it into a toy.
My husband made a few of the Christmas trees last year and they sold very quickly in my booth. The houses are adorable but I’m not sure how sellable they are because I don’t think too many people use real candles anymore…..do they make battery operated tapers? Thanks for sharing 💕
New subscriber from Australia. I love all your Christmas projects, they are all AWESOME but I have 3 favourites, the trees, the houses and my most favourite the SNOWMEN, they are so cute. TFS, enjoy your weekend and I look forward to many more of your videos.
The wood block with the snowman cut out and the candle on top- maybe you could remake that one with a battery power tea light and light it from the bottom 🤔
❤ your projects. I am making the houses and now trying the snowman with the blocks. I am having a hard time to know what to take off of each side. Please help. Thank you
These are the measurements to my three blocks: block one - 3" x 3" x 3", block two- 2.5" x 2.5" x 2.5", block three - 2" x 2" x 2" Standard 4x4 in America actually measures 3.5"x 3.5" so you could just cut a piece off 3.5" long for your first block and that way you only have to really worry about the other two blocks. If you did that, your three blocks should measure: Block one - 3.5" x 3.5" x 3.5", block two 3" x 3" x 3", block three - 2.5" x 2.5" x 2.5" I did make some rough plans for these projects, so if you want to e-mail me at Boydstongrove@yahoo.com I'd be happy to send them to you.
Great video i love all those that you built, as for a favourite it was a hard choice so i have gone for a shared favourite between the Snowflake and the Snowman with his hat and scarf, and as for adjusting Mathews Snowflake version, you did a great job on that and yes he does a great channel. Just found your channel while looking for Christmas Woodworking Projects, and now i have Subscribed to your channel. Now i have to play catch up on more videos. Take Care and Stay Safe, Barry (UK)
We got our lights from the Dollar Tree, during Christmas, but you can also find them on Amazon. We also thought of making our own by just getting plain fairy lights and loosely wrapping them in thin ribbon.
Hey there brother. I'm new sub. I really like what you did with all these projects. They're the definition of quick, easy (If you know what you're doing.?) Cool, Festive and inexpensive to produce, meaning you can start by making just the one, if that's you can afford. Stage it, list it as low, or temporarily out of stock, take orders, fill the orders as they come. Before you know it, you'll be working every waking moment, or taking a couple days off from your day job to kick into production mode. That was great mod on the snowflakes. That was Genius.😎
I used some white stain on that candle holder and I just used some rags to get on the inside. A small brush would probably work better though, or spray paint.

That white snowman was what I was thinking of. Home Depot has some CHEAP spray flat white,, Then you can add the other touches to it! Instead of 'twine' why not use some really thin red or green ribbon to tie the hat,,, or even thin red and green ribbon!
Wow i love the tree and snowflake and snowmans. Now want to make. Think i would make another adjustment to snowflake. Instead the long poecw in back id angle them too so it can lay flat. I figured out the angle I used was just by trial and error. As you can see in the vid, the pieces weren’t exactly perfect, but it was covered up by the diamond pieces. I like the idea of it all laying flat like you said, but that long back piece is a main support to hold the whole snowflake together so I’m not sure how it would work without it, definitely something to think about!
I use rustoleum primer and paint in 1 2x I put 2 coats on it and still can see the wood do you think it could be that it is pine fence picket I send Matthew peech a comment on the same thing waiting to hear back from him thank for your help and time bill
To be honest, I purposely left mine rough, and the white didn't cover on mine either, but I wanted that look so I was ok with it. Most people I sold to liked the somewhat worn, farm style look. Now the little diamonds that we hand painted covered great, but that was house grade exterior paint. Personally I liked the contrast between the solid grey pieces next to the rustic white parts.
The snowman’s the best in my opinion actually, I love them all just leaning more towards the snowman
Awesome! Yes, I love that one too, probably going to make more for this year, it was really popular last year.
I love the adjustment to MP's snowflake!! These are all so great! And different than the typical projects on every other channel. Love!!!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed them!
I Notched out the arms, so they fit flush. Takes a bit of time but looks nice
At first I thought the last snowman was going to be stacked gift packages, which would have been cute too.

Great job on the design and template for the snowflake, my favorite. Second for me is the snowman candle holder.
Thanks! The snow flakes were my top seller that year. I guess this design has really taken off because I just saw them in Hobby Lobby.

These are great ideas. I’m going to surprise my wife with a couple of them. Thank you for sharing. 😊

The trees are my favourite followed by the snowflake. Fabulous projects.
Thank you!
Five lovely decorative ideas. Someone commented on using wood for a candle holder but you could use a battery operated one or use copper pipe sections to line the wooden holder.
Yes, I'm actually working on some candles and thinking of lining them with copper. Might make a cool reflection, we shall see!
Love the Christmas trees. I would paint silver, gold and white. (to match my decor) Just beautiful. 👍
Ah, those are good ideas! Maybe I'll apply some of those colors to some projects this year.
When I made the snowflakes, I notched out my arm pieces, so everything just fits flush. It takes a little bit longer, but I really like the way it came out.

9:10 I've cut out the base on one side so the battery box can be hidden there. And then a hole for the wire.
Thanks for sharing the video.
Huh!! Good idea! I’ll have to write that down for next year! Thanks!
You can cut the copper pipe with a hand held pipe-tube cutter. It leaves a clean cut. It’s faster and cleaner than a hacksaw. ✅✅✅

With the snowman/tealight candle holder, have you painted the inside part of the snowman? If so, how did you accomplish that?
I used some white stain on that candle holder and I just used some rags to get on the inside. A small brush would probably work better though, or spray paint.
