Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Hi Zach. I'm a truck driver from Holland and I thought I noticed the same blue insert in your def tank as we have in Europe. Those things contain a magnet that have failed me personally twice in the last ten years (so not that often) but when they do the def, or adblue as we call it, won't keep flowing. So if the problem occurs with the same vehicle, that could be your problem. Our dealer seems to have them in stock.

6:05 I remember loading a brand new aluminum flatbed with just about 50k of communication tower steel for shipment to AL. (The guy brought a daycab so we could load a little heavier)
He made it all the way to AL and as he was turning onto the lane that led to the tower site, he hadn't widened his turn enough. His brand new aluminum flatbed, on its maiden voyage, twisted and was ultimately written off as a total loss.

Def nozzle does it frequently when filling combines, the filter JD puts on the def tank is pretty small and the nozzle fills that filter up more than the filter and flow. Can check the def filter on the combine with I think 4 or 5 bolts on the def tank see if there’s anything in it.

My family has farmed in the panhandle of Nebraska since the 1880’s. A small summerfallow wheat farm, with some other crops at times. I recently moved to North Central Kansas with my wife after being part of the operation the last 15 years. Income was tight and it made sense to leave the farm and it’s work for my uncle to tend to. This past summer he was diagnosed with an unidentifiable carcinoma and went from planning spring work, to be with The Lord at the age of 49 in just 3 short months. Some of my fondest memories were made working with him, turning dirt every spring, and rushing to get the wheat in every July. He loved your videos, and dreamed of starting a farming channel himself. I watch your videos now and can’t help but think about how many important life lessons the farm taught me. Thank you for what you do. I’ll keep watching, carrying on the legacy of one of your many proud American farmer viewers.

You have given me the drive to maintenance my own machines of John Deere. Given me a better understanding and appreciation of farmers in my area. If I see a tractor and a cart on the road heading to the grow op, I wait until the farmer gives me the opportunity to pass instead of raging and racing past him. I am in the market for my own 1025R to help out my aging father and fellow neighbours during the winter time. From this non farmer, thanks to you, your dad, Jim and everyone else on your videos. I must say, I bet as a farmer, one of the sweet and initially unforseen benefits of adding so much extra work to your day as a "farmtuber" is the fact that you get so many equiptment companies doating over you with free extended demos, food drops, and hell even helping out with your farm operation like Jason ( i think that was his name ) the Honeybee rep did, driving your grain cart, running other members of your farm here or there and just generally pitching in when youre busy. Iam sure that part is rare, but its still no doubt being a farmtuber gets you ALOT more attention from brands and reps than just being a regular ole-farmer. I know their job is to come out to farms and get you to try stuff and sell you on it, but it generally seems like farmtubers get ALOT more equiptment and more no-strings attached demo hours for the exposure to your audience. I say good for you guys... all the farms I watch are relatively small family operations with a max of maybe a couple seasonal adhoc employees. IDK when I see this I feel good for you guys. Ya'll work hard and deserve to get some perks. EDIT: Also after finishing this video... Jason is a pretty awesome rep. Honeybee better take care of him... you dont see many guys like that, he really goes far and wide in the scope of his job.

Little low on coolant with the second truck you started. And the def nozzle soak in hot water and if you want to make it a little quicker use a brass wire brush. I would recommend removing the def injector on everything and cleaning the injection tips with hot water and that brass brush. Reason for the brass brush is so that it doesn't damage and scare the surface.

I grow it's pretty large garden but nothing like that but I am hoping in the next 10 years me and the wife we'll have our land and our property and our house built and I can start doing some farming stuff not like what you are doing but something to make sure my neighbors and my family are good.

To help prevent the def nozzle from clicking off, try removing the Little screen/filter from the top of the fill spout on the combine.

@6:20, when the trailer leans enough to one side it will pinch the drive tires on one side locking them to the pavement, and when that happens, unless they get real lucky, the truck is going NOWHERE until a tow truck gets there to lift the back of the trailer up, or at least the low corner.

Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. First of all congratulations to Becky for a great presentation on installation of the wireless camera. She is good with tools and explained the new camera with great detail. Many thanks Becky!!!!
I am sure Allen feels bad about running the trailer off the drive on. Know how I would feel. Zach you and your dad did a great job of getting it back on the road. Great going guys. Experience counts when dealing with these issues.
You dad seems to get around good with his knee. Love you dad and his calm approach to issues. Wonderful farmer with a wonderful attitude. Thanks Dad!!!!!!
Jason with honey bee is a outstanding employee of that company. He did a lot of work and stayed right with you during the demo of the honey bee. Looks to be a real nice head. Thanks Jason for your efforts to the family and Zach and dad.
Trust your truck and trailer are ok and nothing broken. Really appreciate you filming all of the harvest action knowing that takes extra time for you at a busy time. Really enjoy the harvest videos. Jim must be on the grain cart. Have not seen much of him. Good fellow there. About it I guess. You all take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks Zach and Becky.

We had the same issue on our s790’s last year and finally were fed up enough and we had local JD come out and we helped take whole tank/filler neck apart and like you said it gets all crusty and dries in filler neck AND all the dust clogs up the filler neck as well we drilled bigger holes in filler neck and haven’t had issue since

Get a small bucket of water and set the nozzle in it after you use it and it will wash the DEF out of the nozzle and if it is doing that on off on off it has dry DEF in the little hole on the end of the nozzle so putting it in the water will clean that out and it won't click on and off on off.
I know this as I use The same kind of system at work I built a 3 inch 8 inch long pvc pipe with a cap on the end fastened it to the side of the tot that I pump out of and when done pumping then filled the tube with water then I put the end of it in that till I need it again have not had any problems with it in 3 years of use.
Thanks for the great videos please be safe out there.

12 miles isn't really that long of a drive, especially with today's equipment. but if it's the longest drive you make, it does seem to take forever. We used to have an 80 acre field 24 miles away. I've made that drive many times on the International 656 Farmall. I remember dad driving the John Deere 45 combine to and from the field as well.

Hey, we use "government juice" daily at my workplace - testing emissions on diesel engines. If you can get your hands on some reverse osmosis water (RO water) it will cut through urea/DEF for cleaning. We've found that using de-greaser, windex or other cleaners just results in having to clean it multiple times after it dries but reverse osmosis water is by far the best way to clean up. It cuts through the deposits or the crystal buildups and we also use it run through all of our pumps and injectors to keep them clean. It seems that even in DEF injection systems if you don't use it constantly urea loves to build up and clog everything. I can't explain the science to why RO water works but it does. Hope this helps! Thanks for all the videos!

I grew up on a small hill farm in Wales. Predominantly sheep, but also with some beef. Consequently, I don't know a whole lot about arable farming, although in the days of horses and traction engines, our farm also grew crops and the old seed drill and threshing machine were still around to stand testament to that. I've learnt a lot from Millennial Farmer and I thank him for that.

How in God's name do you guys afford to purchase, operate and make a living with the huge gorgeous equipment costs! I am a former Fire Chief and Paramedic and have done it ever since 18, from 11 to 18 I worked in my Dad's construction company! I live in a small town by farms and have massive amount of respect! As a Fire Chief I have a budget and run a department always in the red with taxpayers funds because there is no way to make a profit due to massive costs and those costs are way to huge for 1 homeowner or individual, especially with EMS services due we may get 35% return from insurance or any at all without going after the individual who can barely feed there family or pay rent! Thanks to your hard work I get to eat without having to try to figure out how to grow and get it to mine, my family belly! God bless you all really make and feed our great country!
