I installed this module on my 2019 on December 21st. The install is as easy as shown but there are a few gotchas. Be careful piggybacking the Pulsar. You'll think its fully connected but there are gaskets around the connectors so make sure the bolt holes are flush to the PCM. Just give it an extra gentle squeeze. The bolts can be a PITA because you have to line up the thread clips for the bolts to thread. Just wiggle the bolts around to get them started, don't tighten them until all are threaded by hand and don't forget that ground wire. Last, when reconnecting the plugs, make sure you square them up with the sockets before attempting to close the latch or you risk bending the pins in the sockets. Once installed, your Hemi will roar in Performance Mode!!
Dave, thanks for the info. I've been debating on putting this mod on my 2019 Rebel. It's a 5.7 eTorque. I've also got a Borla ATAK full catback exhaust system. I'm looking forward to hearing the "roar" as I've been hearing about.
@@SuperSaiyanX-0014 Looks like the Pulsar is the same model number (32453) for both the eTorque and non-eTorque. Make sure you follow the directions to adjust your gear ratio and tire size, if applicable. I have the Black Edition with the 3.92 rear end and 20" wheels. Standard rear end is 3.21 and 18" wheels so I think the Pulsar is set up for these sizes by default. If you have to adjust these settings, do it in Run with the engine off (Push the start button twice without pressing the brake pedal). Hope this helps.
I put one in my 2019 ram first few days awesome. Then one day I got a check engine light on start up. Then while I was in line to get on base, my dash lit up and the truck tried to take off and the motor just reved to 4k rpms and I had to hold the brake down hard so it would not take off. Had to shut it off then it was ok. I took the Pulsar off the next day.

I've installed the Pulsar on my 2019 Ram 1500, I've also got a RMA number to return it. The Pulsar didn't do much other than make the gas pedal more or less sensitive depending on the mode. Economy made it feel like a wet sponge, Performance make it super touchy, if you lightly tap the pedal, it's nearly the same a flooring the pedal. I honestly DID NOT gain any fuel mileage and when I towed my 20ft RV/ Camper for the 2.5 hr drive this past weekend, I set it to stock and pressed the tow/ haul button because the Pulsar made towing so erratic.I highly suggest finding a good set of shorty headers, better flowing exhaust, quality cold air intake kit with a free flowing air filter over this "Mod". You will have more solid power from your Ram 1500 and better spent $500.
i installed my pulsar after my exhaust and intake, and I have to say it made a world of a difference. It was very touchy at first, but once the trucks computer balanced it out it has been an absolute pleasure over stock. Especially with the drone and the gears going all over the place in ECO mode.
Exactly right. It alters throttle response and maybe some other aspects such as timing, spark, air, etc. but the bottleneck on the hemi has never been the air intake, even the stock box is decent drawing from the wheel well or front grill. The bottle neck has always been the intake manifold but more so the exhaust manifold. Just exhaust work in this truck with an appropriate tune opens it up. Long tubes, with an intake and tune.. will give more than any tuner cai combo could ever hope for. The exhaust manifolds are a travesty and have been since 2009
My 2022 does not pull air from well. It has a direct pick up from the grill. That gives you colder air, you do not have a open set up to pull heat off manifold. I have the exact same truck yall have on this video, after watching this I ordered the pulsar. Not good!!! I had a glitch with the first one I got and they sent me a brand new one, it did well for 3 weeks, I was very ok with it but noticed on stages with the MDS off the mds would still kick on very quickly, probably causing more wear and damage on cam and lifters than the system working properly. The third week of having it in my check engine/electronic throttle control light came on and started idling a little rough, I pulled the pulsar out immediately for the 3rd time and everything started working right again. In my opinion the pulsar is not perfected and will cause your truck more harm than good. I think the programmer and unlocked ecu is really the best option, and the money is not much different. To everyone who asked if it voids the warranty.. only if it's installed when having work done at the dealership - if they choose to fight you. Or if you post a video on UA-cam and FCA corporate goes entirely out of their way to prove a point.
Lets be clear about something... tuning your PCM or TCM does NOT automatically void your warranty. In fact, many dealerships provide PCM tuning through handheld canned tuners to adjust for tire size and gas mileage. The effects of pulsar in comparison to a traditional handheld tuner are no more or less.
Why did u stated “ must have” without even try and see how the pick up response to the tuning ? , how does it goes ? Did u get the increase in HP ? Also do you know if it is available for v6 engine ?

I know about the power this can bring but do you think you could do a eco mode test. Maybe one tank full on eco mode to see what kind of mileage you get. Or after April so you could get a baseline on the summer blend before eco mode . I use my truck for fun but also commuting so would like to know mileage I could get.
11.7 mpg on a ram 1500?? Worse I've ever seen on my 5 speed 09 Ram was 13mpg in the dead of winter city driving. Your wheel and tire setup kill the mileage? Beautiful truck btw.
MDS is when the vehicle drops down to 4 cylinders instead of 8 to consume fuel and get better fuel economy. This happens at cruising speeds at low RPM's..
So how do you like the product? Its not like the older Diablos where you could change the parameters like on my 4th gen. It seems like a glorified pedal commander and its annoying that they advertise it shuts off MDS when it doesnt...The only way I get around the MDS is keeping it in the gear limiter setting. You're videos are great...I'm curious what you think.
I haven't had much time to play with it yet because I have been out of town. I plan on testing it out this week and making another video for you guys to let you know how it works and if its worth buying.. Stay tuned!
@@nick06tc Not on my 14...I tried it and still got that horrible noise when MDS kicked in because of my Flowmasters...The gear limiter is the only thing that works for my truck ...PIA but better than not being able to shut it off.
do you know if this install voids the warranty on the truck, and if you have to uninstall it before taking it in for service at the dealer does it leave a finger print? and is there anything out there that removes the speed limiter?
It does not void your warranty, If you have to take your truck into the dealership for anything, I would just un-plug it and put the truck back to stock just to be safe before bringing it into service. It does not leave a trace, and it is not vin locked.

At 7:34, you can see the module is not all the way seated by looking at the bolt hole on the left. What you're seeing at 10:02 is a reflection. If you wait until 10:04, you can see the module is seated properly. When I did mine, I thought it was fully seated, but when I noticed the bolt holes weren't flush, I gave the module a gentle squeeze to get the connectors fully seated before attempting to mount the module. The Pulsar has triple ribbed gaskets on the connectors to seal out moisture and dirt so you have to give it an extra squeeze. Easy enough, just be gentle.

Yes, it works good..
@@DOOWORKPRODUCTIONS do you still have it and any issues?
Pretty truck! I have the same truck in midnight black!
Average MPG 11.7? I average 20 in summer and 18 in winter.
Are there any longterm/maintenance issues with tuning your truck?
Is there something somewhere that says that model doesnt work on the etorque?
11.7 mpg on a ram 1500?? Worse I've ever seen on my 5 speed 09 Ram was 13mpg in the dead of winter city driving. Your wheel and tire setup kill the mileage? Beautiful truck btw.
Thank you, and yes the tires made a difference in fuel mileage. When I run my summer setup on Nitto 420s I get between 14-15 mpg..
Just ordered the pulsar for mine
How is it? Any problems?
Does this only come on the 19’s? What would I need for a 2014?
I believe its 14-19. The 5.7s these years are compatible
What about the test drive?
Hey bud, sorry my ignorance, I am a terrible mechanic. What’s this MDS? Off and On? And can I put this on my 2019 rebel?
MDS is when the vehicle drops down to 4 cylinders instead of 8 to consume fuel and get better fuel economy. This happens at cruising speeds at low RPM's..
Let me know when you ready to sell that thing man. It’s exactly what I’m looking for.
Sold it years ago..
The Ram? Well your taste are impeccable sir.
@@joshuasilvia2465 Yeah I'm on my 5th RAM lol
I have the same truck year but it’s a classic
Damn man you got some sweet vehicles, what do you do for work if you don't mind me asking?
I was saying the same, imagine car payments on all 3 vehicles wow
@@raulquintanilla8718 yeah lol I need him as my mentor
Is it Compatible with E-TORQUE HEMI?
Yes it is I have it on my 2019 ram with e -torque Hemi it’s the same part as the non e-torque Hemi
What kinda wheels and tires do u have with spacers
Can you turn off the tpms with this?
So how do you like the product? Its not like the older Diablos where you could change the parameters like on my 4th gen. It seems like a glorified pedal commander and its annoying that they advertise it shuts off MDS when it doesnt...The only way I get around the MDS is keeping it in the gear limiter setting. You're videos are great...I'm curious what you think.
I haven't had much time to play with it yet because I have been out of town. I plan on testing it out this week and making another video for you guys to let you know how it works and if its worth buying.. Stay tuned!
also TOW / HAUL MODE
@@nick06tc Not on my 14...I tried it and still got that horrible noise when MDS kicked in because of my Flowmasters...The gear limiter is the only thing that works for my truck ...PIA but better than not being able to shut it off.
Where can I buy those headlights sadly mine didn’t come with the special headlights
You can order them from the dealer.. They are OEM LED headlights..
DOOWORK PRODUCTIONS it means a lot that you replied and thank you I’ll ask them see what do they say
Whats the purpose of installation what does it do to the truck
Watch the video and it’s tells you what it does.
Where did you get those white mirror covers ? I have been looking everywhere with no luck.
They more than likely came on the truck new
I’m assuming that this would void your factory warranty
Wondering samething for my 2020 rebel
do you know if this install voids the warranty on the truck, and if you have to uninstall it before taking it in for service at the dealer does it leave a finger print? and is there anything out there that removes the speed limiter?
It does not void your warranty, If you have to take your truck into the dealership for anything, I would just un-plug it and put the truck back to stock just to be safe before bringing it into service. It does not leave a trace, and it is not vin locked.
have you had any issue with it are you still running it? also does it keep mds off constantly thanks
No issues with it. Yes I am still running it, and yes it does.
@@DOOWORKPRODUCTIONS How about Now still No Issues?
@@jacobsebastien3910 No issues, but I sold it when I sold my old truck. I didn't put it on my new trucks because I honestly didn't think it was worth it. Didn't see a noticeable difference with it..
Interested in the review.
It’s been a year. Did it live up to its advertisement?
I sold it before I got rid of my 19... I wouldn't buy it again.. Didn't make that much of a difference..
That is sick wow
How do you if the truck has an e torque motor?
Know*
I'm shocked that you didn't have to disconnect your battery terminals when I hooked up my Hypertech stage 2 jet chip to my Dodge truck they said make sure you disconnect your battery
Did you not watch the video? He clearly disconnected the negative terminal.
rokkero564 no I didn't catch that part my niece and nephew are playing destroying my house right now I watch all his videos is usually very educated and really does his Vehicles upright
Yea, it’s disconnected
Yeah I made sure to disconnect the battery. 4:15
That garage tho
will this shut off the mds for good?
I can see after your install that the Pulsar isn’t fully seated. It’s seated at an angle. 10:02
Before I actually mounted it to the truck I made sure it was completely seated (off camera)
Didn’t have to flex them other rides bro 😔
I installed this morning, set to performance MDS on, 34.5" tires and 3.92 gear ratio. My parking sensors are not working now. Did you get a similar issue when you updated your tire size?
This is set by RAM and cannot be changed. The max setting RAM allow is 34.02" or 2715mm rolling circumference.
@@landofnor you responded a year late man! I loved the quick response of the pulsar but returned it because the parking sensors weren't working. I could have adjusted to 34" tires and keep it
@@ri-dq3ri sorry man. I am in the same boat, putting 35 on, but I am going to set it to 33.75" to be safe. Yes it will be out a bit but everything should still be working.
Good video!
