Great video and awesome looking truck! I was looking into this, but I have an old truck. But looking at this seems like it should be a no brainer! Thank you so much for the list for the connectors! I have seen a few wire taps and fuse piggy backs and more confident in getting these now. I enjoyed the install and I could clearly follow what you did. Yes it's a simple install, but you made it enjoyable! Like it should be! Props man. And thanks for being a Fireman!
I appreciate your feedback tremendously! Thanks a lot brother and glad you enjoyed the video 👍🏼
I watched this video a few months back, I didn't have the LED light then, I just thought the video looked interesting. Then this morning this LED strip turned up cheap on a Facebook ad, so I grabbed one. Then I searched for this video again. I really love how you explained those wire connectors. Sure it seems simple, but I like how you mentioned that you've seen things before that explained something and it made your life easier and of course everyone has to start somewhere. Call me old fashioned, but I thought that was pretty cool. Now I can't wait for my light to get here so I can have a crack at this. I got a new 2023 Ram about 6 months ago and it's white, so this video checks all the boxes! Thanks for such a simple video. truck looks awesome!
Your message means a lot brother! Congrats on the truck and good luck with the install! 👍🏼
Installed the same product last week. Love it. Thanks for the video.
Awesome! Glad to hear you liked it!!
You keeping your car super clean, well done and thanks for the video.
Thank you for watching!!!

I love Trucks! I am sure most of your subscribers are male, but for this girl I love fixing up my ride too! great Tutorial.
That’s amazing!! You might be one of one lol thank you for stopping by and commenting!
Man love the video and just ordered everything for my 2023 ram 1500 I got. You made this look so easy I said man I can do that! Doing it with the blue to match the blue vinyl on the RAM grill 🙌🙌🙌 Thank you and following for more
Love to hear it bro! Thanks for the follow I got a lot more coming 🫡
@@FirefighterBuell cannot wait to see more 🤘🤘
Nice clean install. Great job, thanks for posting this video!
Thanks for watching!
That’s too clean I’m definitely getting this for mine 🔥🔥
Appreciate that brother 🤙🏼
Good work, man - extremely informative. Truck looks awesome. Please, keep us updated if this holds up. I've heard a ton of horror stories about them failing in a short period. I'm not sure if this is due to the lack of weather resistance - but I may order it and do my best to water proof it. I'm curious if I'd be able to make it work lining it up with the lower portion to align with the headlight DRL's..
Appreciate it!
Thank you brother! So far so good! I’ve actually thought about buying another and experimenting with them. Someone mentioned mounting one over the running boards. For $30 you can get pretty creative.
Very nice job- very simple install...Thanks
Awesome cheap lighting and great instructions man. GOD BLESS
Thank you brother god bless you too!
Nice jobs. One of the better videos so far
Thank you!! I appreciate the feedback!!
Thanks a lot for the video bud, it helped me a lot and made the installation so much easier. Bad ass truck, I have a similar one!! Be safe.
Anytime bro glad it helped!
I have a Refreshed 2022 Silverado 1500 RST. I installed this recently on my truck and maybe can help someone out there who may have some questions on this install with the same truck. Firstly I installed it on the actual hood of the truck in front of the weather strip(just my preference). You cannot see the light at all from installing it in this location(tape the light itself almost dead even to slightly proud of the edge of the hood). I ran the wires through the hood and grounded it to the negative battery terminal with a crimped electrical eyelet. The positive(red/hot wire) I ran to the engine fuse panel and used a fuse tap into fuse #28 (Park Lamp Mirror/Grill) using a micro2 5 amp fuse. The light draws about 2 amps so you don't need anything above 5 amps. When installing the fuse tap(install factory fuse on the bottom then the new fuse where the wire is part is) pay attention to the way you pull out the fuse from the panel, you will want to install the new fuse tap in the same direction. The orientation does matter so the spades should all be following in the correct direction.(watch a fuse tap video if you are unclear of what I mean.) It can potentially cause electrical issues if you do not have this orientation correct even though it will "work" either way you put it in. Those of you who have this truck know that when you hit the unlock button there is factory dynamic light show with the blinkers. When using fuse #28 the led light strip WILL activate as well when you unlock the doors in-sync with the front blinkers. The dynamic LED light will NOT stay on constant with just the DRLs on during the day. When the head lights are on at night the LED light will do its automation when the truck is started and stay illuminated until you shut the truck off. Hope this helps!
I have a trail boss 2020, did you make a video?
@@chinos450ify I did not make a video. I just commented on this gentleman’s video since people seem to be asking about other vehicles that he doesn’t have. If you follow his basic install, mine was similar other than attaching it to the hood itself. I layed out the fuse that I feel is what most people would want to happen when having this type of light.
@@user-qg4lw6tg1swhat fuse number did you connected to?
Awesome! Can’t wait till we install ours very nice video…😊
Appreciate that!!
I ordered a set after seeing your video. Mine looked used when they arrived too, I’m sending them back.
Yea I almost sent mine back too but used my own 3m tape instead
Perfect video, thank you. Mine worked for two days, then on the first hump I think the hood broke something, but have a replacement coming.
They have pretty good customer service. I got a replacement as well when mine broke. Enjoy your new one and Thank you for watching!
Good looking clean truck. Thanks for sharing your video.
Thank you I really appreciate the feedback!
That came out tight. Good job and nice vid. :)
Thank you brother!
Thanks for the video, I installed it and it looks cool!!!🎉
Awesome brother!! Glad to hear it!!
The easiest way to make sure it's centered is to measure and mark the center on the strip. Then mark the center on the grill. Start from the middle and work you way toward the ends.
Great idea!
Looks pretty nice I’ve have a 2020 have to look into them
Definitely one of the better video walk-thrus I’ve seen, so thank you for that.
I’m curious what fuse you chose to use. I have one of these strips for my Colorado and I’m admittedly not that “auto savvy”. I assumed I’d put it in my headlight fuse (and I still may), but that is in a separate fuse block inside the cab. Thanks in advance for the advice…
Thank you bro! So when I purchased some grille lights in the past the company gave me a wiring diagram on what fuse to use when connecting them so they turn on and off with the truck. I’m not sure where else you could do it but I would imagine anything spliced to the drls, headlights should work just fine.
@@FirefighterBuell are your lights under the rubber piece form the bottom of hood are out in front of that
Not really sure what your question is
ACC fuse
Very nice and very beautiful Ram you got there buddy!
Appreciate it and thanks for watching!
Bro, badass build!

Yo that's clean!! I'm definitely getting one!!
You definitely should!!
Bro great video. Easy to understand
Happy to hear that man thanks for commenting!
Thanks! for the video your truck looks AWESOME!! You make it look so easy but I think I'm going to get someone to install for me. 🙂 I ordered from Amazon too in Canada it's supposed to be Silverholder but when I received it wasn't in a Silverholder box just a label that said Silverholder Dynamic White. Knock off from China.. I guess? Anyway, I'll give it a try. Excited to get it installed !!!☺
Hey thank you brother! Dynamic white is just the color. There’s a few options color wise you can choose from. I don’t see a problem in letting someone install it for you. Good luck!!

Great video brother! I just bought this for my 1500. looks too clean!
Thank you bro! Yea they are definitely a head turner!
@@FirefighterBuell can you tell me what was the fuse you tapped into? Thanks man!
F38
@@FirefighterBuell I have that one as a 10A (DTCM / ACT CL TEMP VLV) I haven't been able to locate any lighting related fuses except for towing
That is the correct fuse
Great video. I love my 2019 Ram and enjoy keeping it clean. I must have been a fireman in a previous life. May God protect you.
Haha thank you brother i appreciate it!
Great video. You should have used painters tape. It's easy on the truck paint and easy to remove afterwards.
Great idea. I used it later in the video. That definitely would have helped at the beginning too!
Great video. Thanks for the links. Mines is installed already but not as neat as yours. I will get the rest of the accessories and re do it. Much appreciated 🙏
Anytime brother! Glad it helped!
Great video/demo. I'm installing mine soon. Very helpful 👌🏾
Appreciate the feedback! Good luck with your install!
@@FirefighterBuell , installed and working well. Thanks again for your video help. 👍🏾
You got it bro! Anytime!
Awesome looking Ram. I'm formerly St. Louis FD/EMS, I also have a white Ram 1500. After seeing yours, I think I'll do this too. You posted this video 7 mo ago and I was wondering how the lights are holding up?
Awesome thank you for your service! The light strip lasted a good 5 months and then had a little section that stopped working. For the price not too bad. I wouldn’t purchase it looking for a long term mod though.
Nice video and install. Been thinking about getting that for my Ram. Another question for you. Where’d you get the white outlines for the RAM on the front grill?
Thanks bro. They are actually gloss black with white outlines. Reflective concepts sells them.
Looks great! Do you have any install videos for LED string lights in truck bed with on and off switch? I have a '24 Power Wagon
Hi, no sorry I rarely use my truck as a truck lol but if I start to I’ll look into bed lights. Thanks for watching!
The new kit comes with a white wire (old one was black) and red wire. The manufacturer told me it’s a newer improvement of wires.
Hmm that’s weird. I just got a replacement and it’s the old one apparently
Can you please put the link to your headlights in the comments? I have the same lights just reflector leds and I need to upgrade to these projectors asap. Would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Looks great I'll be doing this with my Ram shortly. My only suggestion would be to do a better negative connection to the battery terminal. over time it could loosen. If you take it in for a repair and they need to diagnose the electrical system they would probably forget to reattach it. Over all 9.5/10!
Appreciate you watching and thanks for the honesty 👍🏼
Great videos. Can you make a video once with the best fitting grill led lights for this kind of grille. Lots of led lights I find but none really perfectly fit.
Thank you!! That actually doesn’t sound like a bad idea 👍🏼
Ive watched many install videos on this light. Youre only the 2nd to use a fuse tap. Most others wrap around the blade or stuff in the hole of the fuse block. Has everything worked as expected since making this vid. Thx.
Everything has worked great. Until about 2 months ago a portion of the light strip didn’t work. They sent me a new one which I will not be installing
@@FirefighterBuell You will not be installing? meaning you've found the longevity on these stink? and its not worth replacing every couple months? or you just got tired of it?
@dougd8548 yes after about 6 months a part of it started to go out. For the price I wouldn’t mind replacing it with a new one every so often but it started to look a little tacky to me after a while.
@@FirefighterBuellwell that’s a bummer I was just about install mine now . Have you ever found another set that would work better ? I might just not give it a shot after all …😮
Also on the strip it kind of doesn’t say which is the front or back . You have to pretty much plug them in to figure out ; before it gets taped on the truck .. 😮
I have the blue one on my 2019 chevy. I also put 2 blue led light strips on the bottom of my grill as well. I wish I could post a video comment, so that way I could should you...I think it looks really good...
Dang sounds great! Wish I could see it
I looked you up in Instagram and sent you a video lol
Thank you for the installation video. Next time keep some frog tape in stock!
No problem! And yea I gotta be more prepared next time lol
You doing surgery?? Gloves and extra 3m and fuse cable lol great job keep up the good work 😂
😂 I have so many gloves and my girl hates when I have dirt under my nails lol
🔥🔥🔥
Great video thank you so much…QUESTION though….what fuse did you tap into??? I’m sure it’s in here but couldn’t find it…super nice pick up by the way
If I remember correctly it was f38
I just installed this today and it looks great but, why is it I have to push the shut off button 2x to shut the truck off?
they do make a 3m adhesive primer pads - like a alcohol pad - you only need one (about 3 dollars) - it wll make that 3m tape stick to the grill like iron
Yes I use those for other stuff on my truck but this was more of a trial run on this strip. Wasn’t sure if I wanted it there or between the hood and rubber piece
1- Very interesting and looks great. But based on my own experience, I'm not sure if I like to see connecting a line to my battery. Generally, they all fail over time and you do see developing whitish eroding residue at the connecting point, battery malfunction, parasitic drainage, premature battery dead, failing in smog tests (Unexplained check engine, etc), or worst, fire hazards.
2- Very smart of you not to trust the adhesive that came with the strap. That is the place this kind of product notoriously fails! Then appreciate your gut feeling to go with the deformed package and not return it impulsively, probably like the earlier buyer.
3- Now my questions: Is this strap cut able so you can adjust it to the length of your car or location or you must buy the correct length, after measuring the area of need, precisely. And the other question: I see a beautiful center for the strap, where the display on turning on, starts, that is matching the center of your truck's width. Is this something adjustable or again, the exact center length of the strap you are getting and if so, was it marked clearly? Then do you have different modes or turn it off totally?
Thanks for the shared info.
Hey I appreciate the comment!! 1. This led strip is not connected straight to the battery, it’s tapped into a fuse. I rarely will hook anything straight to the battery. 2. Thank you, I like to do things right the first time and saw clearly that the adhesive provided wouldn’t last so $10 extra wasn’t a problem for me. 3. The led strip came in a 70” size. There could possibly be other sizes but they advise not to cut it. Thankfully it was the exact size needed to fit my front end without modification. There’s no modes to change it just does the startup sequence when the truck is turned on.
Great video! I have a 2022 Limited which has a rubber gasket on the hood that covers the gap between hood and grill. Is it recommended to remove that ?
Hey thanks man. No it’s fine to leave it
I have a 2019 Limited. I used the F38 fuse location. It had a 10 amp. I just used two 10 amp fuses by using the spare. I finished it off by replacing the red tape on the top with black electrical tape. Looks decent. Let’s see how long it lasts. 😂
Haha sounds good let me know how it goes!
Update: It lasted 6 months. 😂
Looks good however using shrink tube connectors would give it a clean watertight look
I agree. I use those from time to time, but the connection ended up being under the fuse box which protected it so I went with these.
awesome video but quick question what number was the yellow fuse that you used.?
I already had a 15 in there from before and just doubled it.
Looks good on the white ram, not sure I would try it on any other color. I have the same form lights and they look sick!
Thank you brother! These are actually custom vlands though. Sorta same thing
I love it! Honestly, I would apply it to the hood. What happens if/when when you need to remove your grill?
It’s ok that piece comes right off and you disconnect from the fuse
Very cool add! What did you use to control the light show at the end? Tazer?
Appreciate that Man! It’s just the video that made it look that way lol
Rather than duct tape, which will deteriorate, as it gets exposed to weather, why not use either heat shrink tape or marine grade heat shrink tubing (which has an adhesive and will give a waterproof seal)? They both come in black and give a professional look to an installation.
I didn’t use duct tape lol
Nice truck !!!!!
Appreciate it!!
Thank you
With choosing that 15a fuse, does your LED unit power off when you turn the car off? I've got a Lexus IS 350 F, I've tried the 5a stop light fuse as well as main front light 15a fuse, but the LED unit won't power off with the car unless I use the remote.
Mine didn’t come with a remote. And yes it starts when the truck starts and turns off when the truck turns off
Great video and awesome truck! Was there a rubber liner under the hood right where you installed the light strip?
Thank you bro! Yes. I may try and relocate it there and see how I like it.
@@FirefighterBuell thanks, I wasn't sure if that would get in the way. Just ordered mine
@FirefighterBuell did you leave the rubber seal on and did it get in the way?
@bravocharlieproductions I left it on and no it did not get in the way
@@FirefighterBuell thank you for responding! I ordered it yesterday and it should be here tomorrow. Pretty stoked!
Bro, that's a clean Ram. Very nice. Where did you get the white outline Ram lettering for the front badge?

nice job 🤠
Appreciate it!!
Hey man great video! It he pigtail you use micro or mini?
Thank you brother! The exact ones I used were linked in the description 👍🏼
Great video my brotha! you made it look easy. Question, would this install work on any car? , (how you merge the cables to the fuse box) I have a Hyundai tucson, and I would love to have that. Thanks for your help
Thank you bro! To be honest I’m not sure about your car. It definitely will work but you’d have to look what fuse to connect to that activates when you turn the car on.
@@FirefighterBuell Thanks for your reply! I really appreciate your wisdom. Your truck looks awesome. Keep on Trucking!!
Thank you brother!! ✊🏼
Good Morning, I've got the lamp installed but can't seem to find a good connection point. With all the different possibilities in fuse configurations, I don't think my 2019 Ram Limited has that fuse. I've tried other fuses that didn't show hot with the truck off but the lamp comes on as soon as plugging in the double fuse tap wire. Any other suggestions?
Sorry brother! To be honest that’s the only fuse I’ve tried, I haven’t experimented with any others to be able to tell you what else would work.
Are them aftermarket headlights? Absolutely love them. Do you feel the 3m tape is better then what comes with the light? Truck is sweet!!😎😎
Thank you brother! Yes they are custom Vland Matrix headlights and the 3m definitely helps. I didn’t trust what it came with.
@@FirefighterBuell how is the light pattern? Plug and play?
Hey, great video just ordered myself the light strip and parts!
Wondering tho, when you put it on the grill i cant see really but when you close your hood does the rubber weather strip on the hood sit on top of the light strip, or does the light strip sit in front of the hood weather strip?
Thanks man! You have to line it up so it sits on top but doesn’t cover it completely. You want to make sure it’s even all the way across
@@FirefighterBuellok so the led light and weather stripping on the hood do touch together, does the hood still close easily as well?
Firefighter Buell I wonder if the WHITE strip no matter how far back you tuck it along the lip will be visible during the day against a BLACK truck. I have yet to see one of these lights on a black truck
Further back you tuck it the weather strip starts to cover it. You have to be precise with the placement.
Wow nice mods Where did you get the lights in your grill? Also is there a controller for the strip lights and one more thing how hard was it to pull the glass mirror off?
Thank you bro! The lights I use to have in my grill were absolute garbage from bullseye customs. The strip is controlled by a fuse and comes on when the truck does. My drivers side mirror was easier than my passenger but for some people it’s the opposite
One more question, where did you get the vinyl wrap for you center console?
One more question, where did you get the vinyl wrap for you center console?
It’s an actual plastic piece and I purchased it from Amazon. Search korlot carbon fiber
Did you have any chrome or did you truck come as it is now? I’m looking to replace my chrome parts and wondering if you know any places. thanks
No sorry mine is the night edition package so it all came blacked out.
Love it
Thank you!!
I have a 2019 dodge challenger. I am unsure what fuse to connect it to. What did the 15 Amp fuse go to that you replaced?
I’m honestly not sure when it comes to the challenger sorry bro
Instead of starting at the left or right you should’ve started in the center. Mark the center of the light strip, mark the center of the truck, line up the 2 lines and go from there. No packing tape needed. 👍🏼
Not a bad idea 👍🏼
Love your truck 1st off but I have a question what 2 fuses are u exactly putting into the fuse tap what are both the # of the fuses and what do both fuses do like are those the fuses for headlights or daytime running light fuses
Thank you bro!! It comes factory with a 10amp fuse. I usually just double it. They are not connected to lights. The fuse is DTCM/ACT CL TEMP VLV
So 2 10 amp fuses? I'm curious as well. What size the yellow and blue fuses are. Thanks for the video bro.
Can you cut some of the strip off to fit into smaller grills? Yes I know you can order shorter lights but they don’t make short enough for me
I don’t believe you can. It will lose the seal
@@FirefighterBuell thank you for replying, I figured as much I’ll see what I can make work, I ordered 2, 59” strips
Awesome video. What fuse did you connect to? Also, besides the 15 amp fuse, what other amp fuse did you have in the circuit tap?
F38. I already had a 15amp fuse in there from hooking something up previously. It comes with a 10 and you can just double it.
What headlights are in this video? How does the animation work on lights and strip light? Great video!
Custom Vland Matrix. And the sequence happens anytime the strip is given power
What fuse adapter do you use for a 2021 Silverado? One in your video won’t fit.
I’m not sure for a Silverado
Just ordered one. If you have a bug shield that mounts to the fasteners under the hood theres no room for the lights to fit between the hood and grill
Yea I can see how that would definitely be a problem
Will this work with a bug deflector ? Nice video ! What was the 15amp fuse for ?
Most likely it won’t. You can get away with just adding a 5amp fuse to the original that’s in f38
Should these be wired to accessory/ignition. Or when your headlights turn on. Didn’t know if you should run them constantly or just when it gets darker out ?
That’s a decision you’d have to make. You can even wire them to a switch if you’d like. I just had it wired to a fuse that would turn it on every time the truck was turned on.
I have a question. I just did this and I am a little concern on how the hood closes. I have to close my hook harder because of the rubber seal on the hood itself. Did you run into this problem?
Nope. I have zero issues closing the hood with this
Where did you get the smoke hood protector that mounts on the section between the hood and the grill?
I didn’t. When I purchased the truck it had it on there. I later removed it and it made marks in the paint
Fuse add a circuit? Is that the pig tail he used ? I notice the fuse that he suggested will not work with mine since right next to the f38 I have another one and I wouldn’t be able to use the pig tail . Little help thanks
I’m not sure exactly what you’re asking. Sorry
What fuse in the box did you use? For example, parking lights, taillights etc.
It’s the f38 fuse. It doesn’t control any lighting.
What fuse do I connect to so that it’s only on when truck is on. I have an 2022 GMC Sierra
I’m sorry man I haven’t tried it for any other vehicle
Hey brother awesome video as I have a 23 rebel I want to do this and I am a fellow firefighter. Lieutenant in the Myrtle beach SC area. My question is when you added the better 3m tape did you remove the China tape completely or just peel back the red plastic and stick it tape to tape? I’m asking because I only wanna do it once lol. Thanks in advance .
What’s up LT! ✊🏼 I just stuck it to the cheaper tape and it help for as long as I had it on there with no issues at all.
@@FirefighterBuell than, you brother, Great info. Seems they don't last very long so as cool as they are I may go a different t route
Hey there .thank you both for your service. I also have a 23 rebel . Did u have any issues put it on . And what fuse did u use ? Thanks
hi i was installing these lights on my truck today using the same fuse F38. but in my fuse box i have got another fuse i.e F39 above F38 so i couldnt insert fuse tap there. so i decided to use trailer camera fuse i.e F44. now the LED dynamic lights working fine but i got 2 problems. First, when my truck starts the headlights wont turn on in the daylight, which they used to do, Second, my remote starter has stopped working, it works sometimes but most of the times it wouldnt. do you know what would be reason for this?
I wish I could help but I only have experience with the one fuse. Sorry man
You put 2 fuses in the tap. How you decided how much amp fuse is required in the fuse tap?
I’m having the same issue, ever find a solution???
I used 2 pieces 15amp fuse in the fuse tap, everything works well now.
The 15 fuse is powering the lights? So what’s the yellow fuse for and what number was that? Thanks
F38. I just doubled the fuse that was in there. You may not need to do that
just curious, is the dynamic led strip light legal in alberta, canada? i know the underglow isn't.
I’m not sure but I believe here in Florida you can have any LEDs they just can’t be red or blue while driving
Cleannn
I appreciate it!
How well has the 3m tape been keeping this stuck down 1 year later? Especially the dip in the middle?
Well mine had an issue after 7 months so it was removed
Hello my brother . I want to ask if there is another fuse to connect with the led wire . So we can open or turn it off (the led ) with headlight switch . Now there is no way to turn off the led During the morning, it's open when ever you started the RAM
You don’t have to have it connected to a fuse. You can buy a controller and just wire it with a relay from the battery to the switch to turn it on and off when you want to. Other than that I’m not sure what other fuse you could use for what you’re trying to do.
